I have been benche watching you this morning. Didn’t want to get out of bed. I can see you are hooked on Elvis. Welcome to our family. Keep doing your thing Elvis fans love that you are keeping his music alive for new audiences. Elvis hair was a sensation all young men started to wear long side burns and greasy hair. He even started the fashion trend in men’s clothes. Especially stand up collars and wearing pink and black in a very masculine style.

I grew up in South Africa and the “ducktail” hair was popular there too. Also prevalent in the movie Grease, which was set in the 50s or early sixties. Same show - One night with you (see how he handles a mishap) and Heartbreak Hotel - watch past when he stops singing. He apologizes - you’ll see his personality shine through.

So glad you were able to react to this particular performance. The Comeback was Elvis coming back to performing his music after years of Colonel Tom Parker (his manager) making Elvis do movies. A huge part of the Comeback Special was impromptu....which is the best way to see and watch Elvis perform and get an idea of his sense of humor. I strongly urge you and your wife to watch the Elvis '68' Comeback Special in its entirety. You won't be disappointed. Just totally amazed and entertained.

Go back and look at what everybody’s dads looked like in the early and mid 1950’s. Crewcuts. And then look at what Elvis looked like. One of the points that Baz Luhrmann has made in interviews about the research he uncovered for the Elvis movie was how strange Elvis looked at the time: the hair and that he was wearing eye makeup. He was truly spectacular. He will not disappoint.

Elvis wore black polish on his hair n greased it when he entered high school..They one of the reasons the kids would think he was strange...He said " he didn't have many friends in school." He went into any style he liked, never cared what ppl thought about his style... Don't know if u know this..But Elvis actually had dirty blonde hair... Eventually he got rid of the polish n used hair dye..He said " When he was a kid he couldn't afford dye, thats why he used polish." Baxk then he was the only kid wearing a pink shirt!!! Think about back then a guy wearing pink...Yeah he was in his own zone.. That's why he's Elvis..Thanks

I really really hope you will watch the new Elvis film. It's an amazing film that really go me into elvis.
I've heard and read so many wild stories about him, he really is the king of rock.
    1. Elvis was known to not wear underwear and this was apparent in his films, that 68 comeback special and in the 50s where girls saw more in those loose pants of his
    2. There used to be so many crazy riots during his concerts and he would provoke the crowd into a frenzy too.
    3. He performed in brooklyn highschool in cleveland and elvis was known to always break the strings of his guitar. Well he did it again on that performance and he got so mad, he smashed his guitar into smithereens on the stage floor and sent the audience wild!
    4. In 1 performance where he was touring with the rca mascot dog named nipper, he was feeling very high for the music that he got nipper, opened his zipper and dry humped him on stage. The papers who were there wrote about it of course and word reached the cops who attended his concert in droves the next day hoping to catch him in the act and haul him to jail. He of course knew they were there and controlled himself but teased them that they should've been there last night instead.
So many great stories but I'll leave it at that!

I think this is the only concert where he's sitting... it's so hard for him to contain himself. I think probably everyone was imitating his haircut and general style...however, I don't think the low-riding jeans were his thing. Many towns and churches tried to ban his music from the radio because it was corrupting decent kids. I loved him from the get- go...love your reactions and I'm looking forward to more Elvis!

Just found an interesting version for "Can't Help Falling In Love" at czcams.com/video/bJLhH0DVORU/video.html . It has clips from some of the various versions of the song; the one of him in the light blue jumpsuit is from 1972 Hampton; that was a great concert - his voice was richer. Thanks again.

Woo Hoo, sex on legs here for sure🤣He was at his very best here aged 33. My parents were Elvis fans(my late Dad being similar age). They introduced me to his music as a toddler. Tex, he even sang in German and Spanish, just like The Beatles! We lived in Uruguay, South America, in the 60s, and he was always in the radio, so we're The Beatles.

No one will ever come close. Elvis was a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon that we will never see again. His vocals are amazing! No auto tune or special effects, just his raw voice not to mention live too! Please react to more from this 1968 special and aloha from Hawaii concert...

  • @carolhayar3037

Elvis did more than one version of a song depending on where he was performing & what year it was. For this '68 Comeback special there was the sit-down segment & the stand-up segment. I'm suggesting "Jailhouse Rock" from the stand-up segment - a bundle of energy w-his a-m-a-z-i-n-g powerful voice at czcams.com/video/87N6Qa0D7KY/video.html. Elvis had the genetic condition A-1 antitrypsin (COPD/emphysema) & needed an inhaler to help him breath. On this special for the song "Heartbreak Hotel" (czcams.com/video/WYwMq1VPV7I/video.html) he coughed a few times & at one point said hold it i’m out of breath wait a minute. It can also be detected on a couple of other videos. How he managed doing all that he did is a miracle. Elvis & James Dean had a big influence on the high greased-up hairstyle of the '50's, slicked-back & duck tail style for the guys. It was also a time of turned up collars on shirts & blouses, black leather jackets & motorcycle boots Thanks very much.

Elvis had dirty blonde hair...When he was younger he would put black polish in it n use all the greasy kid stuff to make his hair like that.. Someone told him if his hair was black it would bring the color of his eyes out so he did it...He was not the normal teenager.. He always thought out of the box n that's what made him Elvis.... Right down to his clothes he dressed very differently at a young age....
