Hi Eric, I’m an adult beginner, revisiting the violin after a 35 year break. When should I start the Schradieck exercises? From the very beginning of my return to the violin or should I wait perhaps some months?
Thank you Eric. I’m a 72 year old beginner. My main concern is that my pinkies are very short. They don’t even come up to the first joint of my ring fingers by about half an inch! So, that’s making every fourth finger note flat. Do you have any advice for me?
Consider readjusting the hand frame so that the hand is surrounding the second and third finger rather than the first. That will help hand reach up for the fourth finger. Hope this helps!

Eric! I think this is one of your best videos. As soon as I finish this note, I’m grabbing my violin and my Schradieck music book!
Thank you!! 🙌🏻

You’re welcome! I have many Suzuki students and I have them do these exercises when they’re struggling.
Thanks!
