The word "تَـمَنّىٰٓ" is used three times in Quran and at other two places which are miraculously in Surah Najam it is translated or understood as "wishes" but in surah Hajj Ayah 52 it is translated as "Recitation" and this helped to fabricate the story of Satanic Verses. Allah SWT is saying in this Ayah that as human when Prophets wish, desire or try to do something over ambiously or hastely in the influence of Satan, Allah SWT rectify or purify them and their acts and thoughts. This Ayah is not about addition or abrogation of verses of Divine Revelations.
Surah Najam mentions Mairaj of Prophet Muhammad PBUH and it is so powerful as a revelation and as Arabic literature that Prophet Muhammad PBUH, Muslims and Disblieving Idolters felt in prostration. This was power of this Surah that they all prostrated.
    Jazak Allah Kher

Shahab Ahmed is the main Islamic scholar in this area. He summarizes his research as follows:
The Satanic verses incident constituted a standard element in the historical memory of the Muslim community in the first 150 years of Islam, and was recorded by almost all prominent scholars working in the fields of tafsir and sirah-Maghazi. (Shahab Ahmed, The Satanic Verses Incident in the Memory of the Early Muslim Community - An Analysis of the Early Riwayahs and their Isnads, A dissertation presented at Princeton University, 1999, p. i)
[We have] repeatedly dated the reports of the Satanic Verses incident to the late 1st and early 2nd centuries; in other words, to what seems to have been the earliest period of systematic collection and organization of historical memory materials in the Muslim community. As regards the discourses of which these reports formed a part, we have found that all the reports were transmitted by late 1st/early 2nd century sirah-maghazi and tafsir scholars (Shahab Ahmed, 1999, p. 258)
The Satanic verses were being transmitted in almost every important intellectual centre in the Dar al-Islam: Madinah, Mecca, Basrah, Kufah, Baghdad, Missisah, Rayy, Balkh, Samarqand, San'a', Fustat and Qayrawan. (Shahab Ahmed, 1999, p. 260)
The Satanic verses incident is narrated in numerous reports (between 18 and 25, depending on how one reckons an independent riwayah) scattered in the sirah nabawiyyah and tafsir literature originating in the first two centuries of Islam. The indications are that the incident formed a fairly standard element in the historical memory of the early Muslim community regarding the life of its founder. (Shahab Ahmed, Ibn Taymiyyah and the Satanic Verses, Studia Islamica, no. 87, 1998, p. 70)
Ibn Taymiyyah, against the majoritarian opinion of the scholars of his day, accepted the historicity of the Satanic verses as something wholly consonant with Muhammad's status and mission as the Messenger of God. He asserted that belief in the incident was the position of the early Muslims, the salaf, and thus the original and authentic truth. (Shahab Ahmed, Ibn Taymiyyah and the Satanic Verses, 1998, p. 122)
Ibn Hajar, a recognized authority on traditions insists on the truth of this report and says, "As we have mentioned above, three of its chains of narrators satisfy the conditions requisite for an authentic report." (Allama Shibli Nu'mani, Sirat Un Nabi, (translated by M. Tayyib Bakhsh Budayuni), Lahore, Pakistan: Kazi Publications, vol. 1, 1979, p. 214)
All of the reasons given in this video for why the event did not happen are speculation. From a historical point of view, the event is recorded by all the earliest Islamic sources and there is no reason to doubt it. Ibn Taymiyyah accepted it.
Regarding the criterion of embarrassment. Those who authenticate hadith use it all the time.
God willing I shall begin this book ... (of) the prophet's biography and omitting some of the things which Ibn Ishaq has recorded in this book ... things which it is disgraceful to discuss; matters which would distress certain people ... (“Ibn Hisham’s Notes” in Ibn Ishaq, Life of Muhammad, p. 691)
Traditions containing such remarks of the Prophet as may not be a part of his prophetic vocation, or such expressions as are clearly unsuitable for him, should be rejected. (Muhammad Zubayr Siddiqi, Hadith Literature - Its Origin, Development & Special Features, 2008, p. 114)
That is, if a hadith records something that is considered unsuitable for Muhammad, then the hadith is to be rejected. This is appalling and a terrible way to do history. We should listen to the historical evidence and not reject it simply because it does not fit into our view of Muhammad.

Well done and may god bless you. Al-Tabari reported it too and said it is authentic.
Muslims have no shame to lie and throw everyone under the bus, even Allah and Mohammed. Embarrassing…

That's what I have to deal with when talking to people online who don't know anything about the Quran and hadith. Never talk about the Quran but always the hadith. They pull writings from someone who never even met the prophet pbuh, but the hadith is the words of the companions of prophet Muhammad. If it can't be traced back to them then it's not hadith.

In the Holy Qur'an God is saying that every prophet i sent there and the satan comes between in their verses. 👇
"And when We replace a verse with another verse, and Allah knows best what He sends down, they say, 'You are but a fabricator.' Most of them do not know. And when We have replaced a verse with another verse, Satan inserts himself between them, and they say, 'This is what was sent down before upon him.' " (Qur'an 16:101-102)
This verse indicates that whenever Allah sends down a revelation to His prophets, Satan tries to intervene and corrupt the message by inserting his own suggestions or interpretations, in order to lead people astray.
See these verses not only talking about Prophet Muhammad(Pbuh). but also talking about the other prophets. that's why God replaced those verses. because it was the devil who corrupted. and even today if you see a person who worshipping daily and love God and close to God i mean if you see today a Godly person he must attacking by Satan. Satan forcing those who are more righteous, pious and noble and closer to God. so now then think about Prophets. they were super high people than us.

      16:101-102 say the exact opposite:
When We replace a verse with another-and Allah knows best what He reveals-they say, “You ˹Muḥammad˺ are just a fabricator.” In fact, most of them do not know.
Say, “The holy spirit[[ The angel Gabriel. ]] has brought it down from your Lord with the truth to reassure the believers, and as a guide and good news for those who submit ˹to Allah˺.”

Whatever verses were revealed or which verses were corrupted by Satan it doesn't matter. the point is we Muslims believe in One TRUE GOD. and we Muslims already know that those verses replaced by God through Angel Gabriel or direct replaced in the heart of Prophet Muhammad(Pbuh) with new "Wahi" from God.

This is talking how Satan tells people that what Qur'an says was said in the Bible, which they use as an argument that Bible is true and Qur'an not because it came before Qur'an. Useless argument because if the author makes another book you can't tell him the new book you make is false because the first book is the true one.
God send prophets and revelations based on times and people.
