The man is legend. Saw the Pogues at the Guinness Festival at Suffolk Downs years ago. Shane was a half hour late, he finally pulled up, got out of the car...following a few beer cans falling out to the ground. This was the last song of the night. The whole crowd was singing along, it was fkn epic!

Who should be pre gaming it but Shane macgowan? as usual he was drunk off his arse and getting drunker as we watched. We invited him over to our table and sat drinking with him. He had bouts of nastiness but at his core he was a sweet , lonely soul who just wanted to be with people and be lliked. I will always remember that afternoon.
