To me it's the ultimate statement of just how terrible Cartman is. Even when he isn't being actively malicious, he's still so thoughtless and focused on his own immediate gratification that the idea that his (sorta) friends might want some of the skin never even occurred to him.

Add in the fact that Kenny cries, because this was gonna be the first time in a long time that he actually got a proper meal, and Cartman snatched that from him, and that makes it the perfect terrible thing for Cartman to do. Kenny saw that chicken as if it was a gift from the gods, and just like that, it was gone. 😢

The chain is a trope from the Victorian ages when ghost stories involved tortured spirits. The chain was symbolic of the choices they made in life, the more of a burden you were to others the heavier your chain would be in death. It was made popular by Charles Dickins and others from that time. So it was common for the presence of a ghost to be accompanied with the sound of rattling chains in those stories.

Thanks for giving such detailed information on the topic! I just knew that chain rattling ghosts are a cliche that somehow has its origins in Great Britain - a Christmas Carol comes to mind when I think about it as well as Oscar Wilde's Canterbury Ghost. I didn't know the exact reason for the chains though and all the symbolism that comes with it.
When I saw the part where Cartman was waving the chain at Butters in the intro, I thought he was going to hit Butters with it.

This episode and the Tsst episode show quite well that one of the most effective ways to beat Cartman is simply to not engage with him and not try to argue. For someone who feeds off attention, any kind of conflict just opens the door for him to try and be manipulative.

Ghost were thought to rattle their chains, like executed prisoners. I live in a town in the UK where even just 200 years ago, the heads of executed prisoners were stuck on spikes outside the prison (a 10 minute walk from my bedroom here) where Many prisoners were executed, most by hanging. The last thing a kid scared of ghosts would want to hear would be a damned soul rattling his chains for all eternity... even if one of them is Eric Cartman, smelling suspiciously of KFC.

I absolutely love the love that Butters gets from all you reaction video makers. Everybody who watches South Park has the same exact opinion about how Butters is treated. Whether it's a goth girl watching South Park or an elderly English person watching South Park or Spanish dude in a baseball cap everybody feels the same way that Butters is treated wrong by his parents and his peers. I love your Channel. My favorite reactions are from people who genuinely have not seen what they're reacting to but also the balance Hove how much they talk compared to how much of the show they're reacting to lay watch and you have a really good balance. And you have a good personality which makes it more enjoyable to watch.
Yeah. Even when I was a kid myself and my uncle showed me this show for the first time I could always tell that everyone around Butters treated him like absolute shit. Maybe I'm just too sensitive but at some points I can't even fully find it funny because it just makes me feel bad for him, but it does make it so much more satisfying on the occasion where he gets to have a bit of revenge.
When I was a child in the 80s, Kentucky Fried Chicken was so good. It was one of the best things I’d ever tasted. These days, it’s one of the worst fast food places around.
Our family all likes Raising Canes and Chick-fil-A the best. For regular fried chicken, we go to our grocery store’s deli (Market Street).

KFC used to be great but I am an old fart and remember when it was completely different than it is now. You used to sit down and order and then they would cook your order like a proper restaurant. So going to KFC usually meant you would wait 15-20 minutes at least for your food but it was always fresh. Then they decided they needed to compete with fast food. So now, all the chicken and sides are premade. They cut corners in the recipes as well using cheaper and less ingredients and well... yeah... KFC today is just a shell of its former self.

Most (if not all) of the things on the list of bad things Cartman did are from actual episodes, if you pause and read the list (I won't state them all here to avoid spoilers).
Since he said it out loud, the 'exterminate' comment is from S8E3 'The Passion of the Jew'... It was actually referenced two episodes later in S8E5 Awesome-O (which you've seen) when Liane* Cartman responds to Eric going to LA with "He's supposed to be grounded for trying to... two weeks ago." -- which of course would have aired exactly two weeks after the previous.
As everyone else mentioned, the person in the "air fryer" (lol!) is the teacher from S8E10 'PreSchool'.

Most people say KFC aint good to look cool, but it is very good and has always been. The only times it's not good is:
- Whpn your specific joint doesn't cook it well then you have a bad experience which happens with most fast foods,
- When you eat it too much/repeatedly, it gets old just like repeating the same new song.
- Lastly, what you should never do no matter... When you reheat KFC with a microwave instead of refrying it a lil bit to reheat it.
The reality is that other chicken joints like popeyes etc they're chicken can be easily replicated at home/anybody while many have tried with KFC but can never really get that distinct flavor and smell. KFC smells and tastes like KFC while other chicken like popeyes smell and taste like every other fried chicken. And I like popeyes and other options.
KFC chicken is actually pretty good, I could eat 8 strips (pieces of chicken breast in breadcrumbs) all in one go. The gravey is nice too. The fries, not so much, as they started leaving the potato skins on the fries when they cooked them, that trend started several years ago, something that Five Guys also does.
As others have said, the chain was a victorian metaphor for what sort of fate awaited you when you snuffed it. Dickins' Christmas Carol is the most famous example of this, you should easily be able to find a version of the story on youtube (one of the best is one done by the muppets)
Poor Kenny, it's probably been a while since he had something nice or helpful to eat, now he can't even enjoy it.

KFC is good, not as good as a family hole in the wall that knows what they're doing... but as far as Fast food big chains... I'd say they're in the Top 3
1:16 so when I was in Texas for a week, I was staying at my mums friends house. And one night or afternoon they ordered this golden chicken place. Which I never heared of it because the state I live it doesn't have any locations. And to be honest that chicken is WAY better than KFC.
