Michelle made this point weeks ago about her being more than a ‘bbl’ and she never came to prove otherwise. Drops splits and kicks don’t make a song, but it is the creative intention behind it that does and Sapphira is good at creating that atmosphere (more than just herself).
I was such a Sapphira stan, but she did so horribly this episode I cannot comprehend how she's still in the competition. This Frankenstein look made of Mhi'ya's entrance look corset... I was so disgusted... It was bad, didn't make any sense, the lip sync was horrible. Damn...

It's the episode they literally boot a queen they don't like for whatever imaginary reason out there but this time the judging for bottoms was absolutely correct. Yeah, you could argue that Plane maybe shouldn't have won since she literally had two exact outfits and it was an easy route but Lazi Susan definitely felt the most like a drag-relative to Plane than for the rest so her win still works out in my book. Only thing off this episode was the result of the lip sync HOWEVER I can see why they let Sapphira stay over Morphine

They’d need to create a show just for lipsyncs. This one is more than that. There’s a difference between lipsync for the win and lipsync for your life. The later implies (and Ru actually says) that it’s a ‘last chance’ to impress, not only chance.

He doesn’t come up with the clever tag lines on his own.Production knows who they wan. It’s business and entertainment, they will do what’s best to keep the audience coming back!

That said, there’s still a difference between lip sync for the win and lip sync for your life. It’s very clear that one should guarantee a win while the other doesn’t. I’m genuinely surprised anyone thinks a lip sync would save a consecutively bottom 4 queen over a consecutively top 4 queen. The only way that would work is if the bottom Queen did something so incredible and the top one flopped massively or walked away.

Honestly, I wish drag race would take a risk and eliminate front runners when they did the worst. Especially since they're near the end and it should feel like a tight race/ anyone's game. We all knew that no matter how well Morphine did, she was going to be eliminated this week, but it still felt wrong that she left.
Sapphira had the worst look, dancing, and lipsync this week. She also won $25,400 already, so she'd be alright. And she could come back for All-Stars and win more.

Saphirra’s acting/comedic low-energy take was horribly overshadowed by Morphine’s glamorous music video approach. Saphirra has a distinct, charismatic style but she was off-rhythm and her splits weren’t clean, just a messy and disappointing performance from her.
@zanefeyler It made more sense compared to the same ‘bbl’ tactics morphine uses every lip sync. The day morphine decides to add more range to her drag is the day she will beat Sapphira just ask Michelle ;)

Having the pleasure of seeing Sapphira live several times what the camera doesn't pick up is that she was hypnotizing the panel. She has a stare, intensity, presence that takes up the entire room. You can't look anywhere else. However that powerful live stage presence is based in stillness.
Stillness doesn't look good on camera. In the room it's intense and theatrical. It's from her roots in theater and opera. You can't feel the energy in the room through the screen.

This goddamn comment! 💜. Thank you. Sapphira has a confidence, command and RESTRAINT in this lipsync that allowed her to build the performance to an extremely satisfying climax. Morphine started at a 9 and very swiftly reached a ceiling. Sapphira sultrily slinked her way through the early part of the lipsync, until it was time to “let loose”!
For me, Sapphira was the clear winner. ✨

Morphe did good, but you could tell she was desperate for the win. Where Sapphira exuded more confidence during the lip sync (a part from that shaky cartwheel, lol). Plus, all the people saying Morphe should have won when she had been at the bottom 4 times now. How many challenges should a drag queen lose before you finally say they have to go home? By that time, the judges are tired of seeing you lip sync because they know the moves you're going to do already because you've shown them everything you have to offer.

Sapphira was so confident, the way she looks at Ru is next level. Morphine did great, but Sapphira won for me
Even if ppl think morphine won (trixie and Jaida thought morphine won too) there was no way they would send Sapphira home. You think they would send a queen with 4 wins home against a queen with 4 bttms. Morphine’s fate was unfortunately sealed the moment she got put in the bttm. I thought morphine did great in this lipsync but unfortunately she was going home no matter what. Even if they hypothetically sent Sapphira home, morphine would’ve been sent sm hate so it’s better for her that she got eliminated.
And now everybody thinks she won that lipsync and thus was a bit "robbed", which is ironically a great way to leave because people want more for you and want to see more from you (just like Mirage).
Morphine was already loved but I think she will be even more ! On top of that she will just miss next week's épisode because then she will be in the reunion and the finale. So all in all, she really won a lot in my opinion 😊

I hear this actually. Morphine was doing a great job of doing a realistic lipsynch with her sex kitten vibes while dancing.
Sapphira has this thing she does live... A cover of Gnarls Barkley's Crazy that has this same intense stare. She does it with other songs too and it's amazing. It's really intense, kooky, and powerful. I could see she was doing it- it didn't read the same on camera. Stillness and intensity in the room don't pick up on camera. THAT'S the real difference between stage and film acting.

They both did really well but Sapphira was slightly better. Plus, it was Morphines third time in the bottom and we all know it is very hard to survive a third time in the bottom. She would have nedded to do exceedengly better than Sapphira which, even if Morphine did win this lipsync in your eyes, it wasn't by a lot.

I think this is a case of Morphine who has the by far worse track record winning the lip sync, but Sapphira who is the front runner essentially who lost but did well enough to justify being saved here. At least Morphine left on TWO massives highs, she should be proud of herself!
"well enough" is quite a generous take. She did the worst in the challenge, just stood still for the first one third of the lip sync then did a rather crunchy cartwheel, all that was considered "well enough" so the bar must be on the floor here :))

I get that Sapphira didn't deserve to get the chop based on track record but Morphine ate that lip sync.
Nymphia was so real in that confessional lmao. Also I think Sapphira did well in the 1st part with the sassy facial expressions and stuff, but after that crunchy cartwheel 'split' I could tell she was getting a bit desperate and looked like she couldn't decide between going for face or going for stunts and ended up caught in this awkward space in the middle. Meanwhile Morphine was good the whole time and consistent. So much like episode 5, one person won the lipsync, but the other had a much "better" reason to stay.

@@razrv3lc I still don’t understand why many people keep talking as if Sapphira did SO HORRIBLY… Was Morphine a bit more strong & entertaining? Yeah- Was the cartwheel crunchy & desperate? Also yes. It’s definitely her weakest lip sync of the season so far by a mile; but it was still very solid, she was confident all the way through it and it did the job + In my opinion, her track record MORE than justified her staying ESPECIALLY if you compare it to Morphine’s of all people (I love both but it’s the truth). I only said double shantay because we haven’t had one all season and I would like to see a bit more of Morphine on my screen but in all honesty; it was her time and production made the right decision- So what’s the big issue?!
