I was there. Place was rockin for chase. It was so random but so nice. Once the 18 was out everyone on the front stretch was rooting for chase
Its weird cuz obviously although he's had his issues (Vegas this year for example), but the fact that hes an Elliott, a name that has been familiar in NASCAR for decades, it's one of the few connections left to the golden days of the sport. And although I was junior fan prior to being an Elliott fan, I do think that he has what it takes to win a championship.

And careful, I believe this is only his first win in MENCS. Chase has some moves in the truck series, I think he pulled off a few good wins there, several of which at the road courses.

+Diogo Oliveira I'm not saying he will or wont win again, I'm just saying that we can't declare him a legend or a superstar from just one win. I like Chase, he's my second favorite driver, and really glad he finally got a win but he only has this one win at this time. Chances are he becomes the next superstar winning races each year like Johnson, Harvick, Busch, Truex, and others, but chances are he becomes another Paul Menard, or AJ allmendinger who get their first win and just ride around. I'm not saying either will happen, which worst case scenario he becomes another Kasey Kahne and retire early, while best case scenario he wins a championship or two. But we can't determine his whole career over one win or by his last name like certain someone we know.

The best part of all this was all the drivers stopping to give Chase his props, thumbs up out the window, KB and JJ down in the pits to shake hands with him, just amazing driver respect right there.

As an Aussie NASCAR fan, The Glen has got to be my favourite race. Not sure how many of you know this but, our v8 Supercars don't race on any Speedway-style tracks at all yet most of our tracks have at least one straight where the cars can hit their max speed of around 320km/hr. Like most of our tracks, The Glen never fails to showcase the whole range of talents these drivers have and it always makes for great motorsport to see a driver get their first win. I just wish NASCAR had more of this style of track... Congrats Chase!

This was the best race of the season by far, nice to see someone other than Harvick, KB or Truex win for a change. I'm a HUGE Jimmie Johnson fan and I also like Chase. My favorite part was when Johnson gave Chase the push to victory lane, I will never forget that moment.
