That's right, IT'S TIME!
We wrap up the '23 season with a look back at the very best baits from the past musky season!
-
Do we have a repeat champion?
Do we have some new baits break into the list?
-
A HUGE shoutout to all the bait builders and companies that supported us in 2023, we couldn't do this without them.
If its on the list, rest assured it will catch muskies.

Happy New Year! Yes sir, we are back, and can't wait to share some awesome stuff with you guys this season! Appreciate you!
Awesome, pumped to a part of your guys season. We will be adding growler attachments to the website in the near future!! Thanks Glenn and Dave for all that you guys do!!
Thanks for all you guys do over at Droptine, we appreciate it. Always a big part of what we do out on the water!
Nice wrap up to 2023. 2024 let’s go! Happy new year!
Happy New Year Kyle, the countdown is on for opener already. A month and a half away from fishing didn't feel like very long. But we have lots to share! Looking forward to a genuine colab next season!
Happy New Year 54 or bust!
Thanks for the top 5!
I will be adding tubes this comming year to the arsenal.
First year musky fishing was fun, still looking for my first fish but with information like you give it shouldn't be long.
Happy New Year! Glad to help, we're back and we are stacked with info this season! You can't go wrong with tubes! Appreciate you watching!
Wow, I'm now subscribed and watching all your stuff and I love it. Question, what do you think of the Mepps Musky series baits? You have inspired me to try fishing for Musky this year.
Thanks for finding us and glad to hear you're gonna stick around! The Mepps musky baits are classics and catch everywhere, every year. I have a good selection of Mepps but we just moved onto different style blade baits, but they catch fish. Hope you enjoy musky fishing and happy to inspire!
Great breakdown, I’m gonna keep my eye out for when those Dadsons become available!
Thanks Matt, I know a guy in the Dadson loop... lol
Appreciate you watching, something tells me you'll wanna see the gear of the year one!
Great overview 54 or Bust team!! Our best casting fish was on a tube as well! Absolutely lethal 💪
Ya Team Red October all the way! Thanks for watching SBO!
Great info glad your back
We're back! Thanks for waiting! Appreciate you brother!
Great video. Really like the creativity with the Bondy and the Droptine attachment. Happy new year! 5 more months to go!
Hey, thanks for watching! Gotta think outside the box sometime to make things work. The countdown is on for musky '24!
I genuinely appreciate you guys letting me have a small part in your season letting me name the pattern that really means allot to me, thank you guys! I had two fish eat mine this season but unfortunately both didn't get hooks but I promise I'll have pics for you this season! Awesome job this year can't wait to see what you guys have in store this next year! The quad dogs are sweet I was lucky enough to get a couple and man do they move water!
Thanks for watching Pat, appreciate it!
Great video Glen, this video was the final push I needed to get a tube!
Awesome, glad we could help! Appreciate you watching!

SUPER TOP BAITS" HAPPY NEW YEAR! GO 54!!! jd
Thanks James, Happy New Year! We're gonna go hard in '24, and you're gonna see it all!
Happy New Year Glen, definitely going to try the tube, royal orba, and quad dog. All you had on your list are great baits. Looking forward to you and Dave’s uploads and before you know it we’ll be chasing musky’s.
Thanks Mitch, Happy New Year! So glad to be back, we recharged and we're ready to share our experience with you all again! Gear of the Year coming in a few days!
Happy to see the SRJ made your list… One thing about the SRJ is I believe it’s the BEST MADE BAIT out there. A work of art with a lot of R&D and quality to the highest standards.
The SRJ is an awesome bait, one that will be in the mix all the time! Your right, it's a quality built bait! Thanks for watching!
Thank You Sir!!!
great video, Glenn, and I'm glad you included the honorable mentions! Can't wait to see what 2024 has in store for the 54 or bust crew.
Thanks for watching Andy! We couldn't leave those two out, they were too good last year! Lots of cool stuff coming this year in the 54 world, glad you're along for the ride! Gear of the Year drops tomorrow!
Great video, as expected! That SRJ looks amazing underwater - body roll really makes it unique. Have a great 2024, and thanks for all of the great videos, especially the underwater footage and the whiteboard breakdowns.
Thx Dean, Happy New Year's to you buddy! Glad to hear you still enjoy our brand of musky content. Lots to come in '24!
Great vid 54 team!! Love the sound very cool… 👍
Thanks for watching buddy! Appreciate you!
Awesome stuff dude! Such incredible baits and really happy to be a part of it!
This one is always a highlight for us to do, and it's fun looking back at the success of the season. Let's make some more memories in '24!
@@54orbust hell yes dude, looking forward to it!
Somebody has a new shopping list for his next trip to Bobby’s next year!!!!!😬HAPPY NEW YEAR FELLAS!
Happy New Year's John! Hard to go wrong with any bait on this list! See you this summer for sure!
1000 percent on a tube rigging vid!
Coming soon
Red Octobers rule. Dadsons too
You sir, are correct! Ding Ding!
Great video!!! Curious with the 10 inch tubes did you add the blade what rig is it the mid depth or shallow? Interesting how it's more of a rip up and down with blade on looks amazing!
Thanks for watching! Mid depth 90% of the time. I mod the rigs with an extra treble and with inline blade on a wire. The add a blade from Red October only goes on one Barb of a Treble and can unbalanced the lure
@@54orbust do you mostly fish with the blade on back?
@@SlimeSlayOutdoors 60% of the time with a blade.
Full tube video coming up in a few weeks and I'll try address a few of these questions there as well!
Can you recommend any good lodges or resorts to stay for a week on lake of the woods or really any other muskie destination in Canada? All we want is a bed to sleep in, and it seems some of the resort prices are outrageous just for a cabin with a couple beds.
We don't fish a lot on lotw and do not work directly with any lodges.
I can recommend a number of lodges arrive the Eagle Lake / Cedar Lake area. It all depends on what you want out of a lodge. A cheap vacation may not be the right one, if it's in the wrong area.
That's a good topic for an upcoming video.
Love your content, it makes me a better muskie fisherman. Caught my first muskie on a Royal Orba this year. I'm wondering under what conditions do you add the spinner bait arm to the Royal Orba and when do you fish it standard (without the extra blade)?
Great question! Thx for the support!
I would say the attachment works well under low light situations and in tough bite situations. So think post frontal or tough bite conditions ( off moon etc)
I think the added vibe of the blade really helped on pressured fish, it increases the overall size of the bait but the hook up percentage is still very high.
great vid, thumbs down for me on the mattlock tho, those are 150 bucks each, hard pass, i'm just not interested in spending that on one lure
Thanks for watching Mike! Thankfully there are baits at every price range! Check out this video 👇

@@54orbust totally agree, i can't say anything negative about it, it looks great and i'd love to have one especially where i fish in the fall, i'll have to stick with my jakes and grandmas for trolling lol. cheers
