Ob la di ob la da is a perfect closure to the movie, since he finally realizes after all the glamour and fame that the only thing that truly matters to him is his love. Even as life goes on, he isn’t afraid or lost, because his life is moving on with her.
The Best ending the film could of had.
It all comes down to this: this is a love story with great music.
I loved this movie. I low key cried more times than I care to admit. I love you Fab Four. ❤❤❤❤
It was a real feelgood movie.. on a wet midweek evening it cheered us up and reminded us of the great music from the sixties.. loved it 😊
Unpopular opinion: I actually liked this movie. The only thing I wish is that they showed the real Paul and Ringo and that they showed George too. And that they played more Beatles songs.
sounds very expensive request you got
It made 150mil on a 25mil budget. So I think it's probably all right to say it was a good movie
I am not a huge Beatles fan but I love this movie. Very well done. It gave me a new respect for the Beatles.
This movie was not a concert record. Nineteen Beatles' songs were sampled to carry the story line through the movie. That's a lot. Done ever so slightly differently, this could have been a terrible movie. But it wasn't. Hemel's version of 'Yesterday' is becoming my favorite rendition.
Was it not well received? I loved the movie
I loved this movie and I saw the Beatles live in Toronto in 1964. I watch this movie every chance I get as it is a nice twist on Beatlemania that swept the world. I am in my 70th year and love all the music of my generation as I know they will never be an era of such great music like that again. Peace, sisters and brothers.
Beautiful movie. Hamesh legit performed all of the material live on the take. No overdubs. He did an outstanding job.
Fantastic Guy .
patton 303 live on location you did your homework bud from fla
Is anyone else astounded by Lily James's acting ability?
I almost have to view her movie's credits to make sure she was in it!
She was superb in Darkest Hour. Though a small part she nailed it.
Seeing and wishing John was still here with us at 78 years old.
George?
I dont

The movie and its central premise (a world without the Beatles having existed) was incredible and amazingly revealing ..... to me, the Beatles' music is like drinking from the Fountain of Youth --- their special gift to their (our) generation
This was a great movie. When the door opens and there stands___. A collective gasp came from the audience.
That is the iconic moment.
Wonderful movie. Shows a great "what if" scenario of life, and the world, without the Beatles. One of the best things other than the music is Lily James. She made the perfect buddy to love interest that we all should have.
All the movie and the cover songs are very good, but the punk version of Help is extraordinary!
Love this film, watched it many many times, bit sad I know but I love it.
me too. It is Brilliant.
Not sad at all It’s a beautiful movie with very likable characters and obviously outstanding music
Love this movie. True meaning of how music brightens the world
I love this movie and I am not a Beatles super fan in particular. I enjoy their songs, recognize their cultural significance but after seeing this movie I like them a lot more. I really enjoyed the fun romance part and Jack’s wholesomeness.
What a pity the exclusion of Ana de Armas´s scene in the talk show with the song Something as soundtrack, It would be one of the best in the whole movie. Wonderful scene that I always revisit
Too bad it's a deleted scene...I agree...one of the best parts of the movie...and then get axed😡
It got axed because it made Jack a lot less sympathetic.
@@Rorschachqp That was a pity. Here in YT there is a series of 10 min video with director and production´s team discussing over a lot of movie scenes, particularities and curiosities, they are very nice, if someone like this content, search and taste.
i remember as a little kid getting out of bed in the middle of the night and playing a Beatles record with hardly any volume so as to not wake anyone, i was obsessed with their music, still am !!
how can anyone have not enjoyed this movie?
Probably because it had such potential to be really interesting and pose some seriously interesting questions but that got lost in favour of quite a boring story. Sure a film full of Beatles music, even covers, is great- as was the John Lennon bit- but it’s been done better (see Across the Universe) but it had so much potential to be more than just a romcom! There was a sci-fi aspect that’s never explained or explored (not really necessary but still) not to mention a whole host of deeper philosophical debates that could’ve been had here! But the writers went with the simple idea that the Beatles music is great regardless of when or how it came out and who was singing it…but I’m not sure that’s entirely true.
There’s a whole Salieri Vs Mozart idea that could’ve been explored….
This film was quite a tribute the fab four and how their wonderful music transcends the label "pop" and reaches touching depths.
Fantastic movie!! Brilliant idea and brilliantly produced! And of course the 2 main actors did a superb job 👏 👏👏
Let's not over think this. It's a fun love story with the best soud track ever!
This movie was excellent on so many levels. Great premise. Awesome execution. I loved it.
This is one of the best movies i ever saw.
Excellent movie and his guitar playing and singing were superb. Reminded me of all those fabulous Beatles songs and how timeless Beatles music is. :)

@@jeangowcharan7456 LEARN ENGLISH PLEASE WTF
@@jeangowcharan7456 lol why has to be a race thing, the problem with the movie is a low budget and overall bad casting, he is good, but there where better stories to be told, better actors that could have played the same persona. I would much more like to see jamie fox on the role than himesh
@@bernardo9202 No. Just no. It was perfectly cast.
It ain't the best movie I ever watched, but... I genially love it.
I was never a great fan of The Beatles Obladi-Oblada but using it at the end of the film to tell the rest of their story was perfect. Performing in front of a school of kids who started to sing along just added to the impact of this film.
This actor has the perfect voice to pull of singing The Beatles. There were a lot of ways the main character could have been cast wrong but he nailed it out of the park.
I’m surprised people didn’t freak out and call him a communist sympathizer over Back in the USSR lol, very different context today. Also “she was just seventeen” definitely wouldn’t fly today either
"She Was Just Seventeen' Top of the Congress/Senate hit parade.
@@swampy6194 Seventeen song by a 40 year old man is creepy. Not so much when composed and performed by a 20 year old. Context needs to be considered at times.
You also need to remember that the beetles were British and the age of consent in uk is 16. So still slightly creepy but not illegal
Well she was just 33, you know what I mean, sounds a lot better
This must have been so expensive to make just for the copyright alone
Right up there with 'That Thing You Do' and 'Spinal Tap' in the fictional music film genre. Hamish Patel's musical chops shine!!! And Lily is always graceful and beautiful!!!
This movie felt oddly similar to bohemian rhapsody in an odd way
This montage (and the movie Yesterday itself) brought me back to all those magic moments of the first time i heard these Beatles songs ---- on 45rmp records, Albums, on AM Radio WBZ (Boston) - which came to be known to us as W"BEATLE"Z ..... They were the musical equivalent of the "O"
Such a great music. I love it..
just an all around feel good movie. dont see many of them nowadays....
Ein wunderschöner Film!Kann man sich immer wieder ansehen!!
I love this film. It’s a sweet and beautiful ode to the Beetles. If you can’t watch it without smiling and singing along well you’re probably a little dead inside and I feel sorry for you.
Brilliant movie!
Wow. "Help" is one of the best punk songs ever.
Ce film est une vraie merveille !!!😊
I really liked the movie. I thought he did an excellent job singing their songs which was no easy task. I know it’s just a movie and fiction but I got an incredibly sad lost feeling at the thought of The Beatles never existing.
I would like to see a director's version come out. The cut scenes (Something...) are brilliant
Song: Ob la di ob la da.
Singer: Himesh Patel,
album: Yesterday
Now, that's something so lets just let it be.
Excelent!!! Great!!!
From approximately 0:49 to 1:25 is the shortest version of "Yesterday".

Todo bien.puesta en escena exelente 😊
Great idea, great movie, perfect actors ... strong 9/10
Loved this movie, but I gotta say - if Jack could not see the beauty of Lily James - he was blind, deaf, and stupid! She effortlessly makes this movie magic.
%It's the "friend zone thing" she had a crush in him after he performed Wonderwall at a school talent show. She never told him but develpoped a friendship so she could be around him. Being his band manager was the nearest she could get close to him and spend time with him. It's not uncommon fot women ro suffer in silence with their love hidden. Womenexpect men to pick up that they fancy them. Jack probably thought that Eli was just a mate. I'm sure he noticed her beauty but they had moved into the "friend zone".
Coincidentally, we will see the Beatles this weekend. Not the real ones, of course, but a cover band. Sorry - TRIBUTE band! I'm sure it will be fun... once I get used to the 'not quite right' faces.
The only time I tried to see the Beatles was in 66, when they played at the stadium. A group of us proto-hippies spent the night outside the entrance. At 2am, two carloads of toughs drove towards the maybe 20 people and jumped out. Some had chains. I was foolish enough to stay behind and help some guy protect his new Jeep. We got slammed as he tried to unlock his car. I slumped against the car to make a smaller target for the maybe 8 creeps. There were too many to really get to me, but I got a bad kick in the knee.
The cops saw the whole thing and did nothing. Some of us went off to the Sheraton to 'find the Beatles.' All we got was chased by security a few times. 4 of us, 2 guys, 2 girls, held up in a women's bathroom for most of the night, and had a great time.
In the morning, my knee was swollen and sore. I hopped on the bus back to the suburbs and survived for the next fun moment. Being 17 had its benefits!
Love this movie!
Song: I want to hold your hand,
Singer: Himeish Patel & Lily James,
Album: yesterday,
I love this film/movie
While watching the John Lennon scene I started crying. I was recalling that night my freshman year in college, watching MNF, Howard Cosell made the devastating announcement that Lennon had been murdered. I’m glad that scene wasn’t cut. I still miss John Lennon.
Fantastic movie
I love Lily James!
As a huge Beatles fan, I loved this movie and the premise. It was refreshing to see an original idea for a movie instead of a retread, or a reboot.
In the end he finds the TRUE MESSAGE of The Beatles “ ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE”!
Usually try not to sing challenges feel like nbd but when here comes the Sun came on I was immediately singing, and it was only the 2nd song lol
Wow fantastik 😂😂😂😂

yea i like that one. it wasnt perfect on pitch but he sang just like real performing in front of crowds
Song: I want to hold your hand.
Singer: Lily james & Himesh Patel.
Album: Yesterday.
If The Beatles never existed, then a lot of other great music wouldn’t have existed either because there’s a lot of great artists who were inspired by them.
Así cómo ellos se inspiraron en otros
This movie reminds us of how The Beatles caught lightening in a bottle. There will never be another group like them.
Very top film

Another sleeper film done to the music of the Beatles was Across The Universe. You'll all love it.
A little after 9 Minutes I have lost the Challenge, congratulations video you have won 😅
When he was driving down that road, I got so excited because I knew it was Lennon. Embarrassed myself in the packed theatre on opening night by shouting out before it happened. I definitely was glad not to have been wrong 😅.
I think there's a whole series of films that could be made of this idea
great movie! i guess it asks the question: would the songs we love be as popular if someone besides the beatles wrote them?
My thought is... What if they were German, and didn't speak English?
And don't forget - it wasn't just their words and music. They changed the course of rock and roll! And unless you were a teen back then, you wouldn't understand how they changed things.
Def an underrated movie, but let’s say the truth this is mainly due to the Beatles songs, such a wide range of emotions still today
❤❤❤
In '64 I was 9 yrs old and saw the Beatles at the Cow Palace with my oldest sister and cousin because my sister won 4 tickets to see them on radio station KYA. Saw them again in '65. I really didn't follow them so much through the years but this movie brings back such great memories that I listen to them again a lot more now. Great movie!! And it's not an unpopular opinion if this movie is liked. Everyone has their own tastes, just like they have their own @$$es.
Watched the movie in the Theater and bought it on 4K, which I have watched it tons of times on 4K...and watch clips on the internet.
In what resolution did you watch it bro?
This movie is awesome and…
8:23 Oh no
If that was actually Lily James singing along with him...she has quite a decent voice.
Watch Mama Mia 2, she sings a ton in that.
Impossible! These songs are too Awesome Not to sing along! 😉🎶
Ok, so I started singing "Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da life goes on, ohhhh..." Then I read the first 4 words of this video. Fail. These songs are still infectious to the very day 🙂
First touch beetle song
I failed yesterday always gets me
Kudos to Ed Sheeran, for making this movie possible,he himself a great composer
The movie was fine and the soundtrack was excellent but I do not understand some parts of the movie. What was the reason for some of the people being in the movie, like the bearded guy at the computer and others that kind of looked lost and not happy? Did they know of the Beatles? Were they not affected by amnesia? Anyone here that can give me an answer?
beatles fan writing here : very good movie despite several critics...
The summer song is actually very decent imo
Have you ever heard the Deep Purple version of Help?
