Join us as we start this new series on our channel: Building a Craftsman Model Railroad Kit.
For this video how-to, we're building Yard Office No. 3 from FOS Scale Models. If you want to build along as you watch, you can pick up this kit here: fosscalemodels.com/products/y... (this is not an affiliate link, just for your own good use). You can certainly build along with ANY craftsman kit of your choosing as most of these steps are universal how-to's for a good craftsman kit build.
Building a Craftsman Kit Step 1: Opening & Checking the kit - Doing an Inventory
In video #1 / step one we show you how important it is to do a quick inventory of your parts and details for the kit to make sure none of the parts are broken and to familiarize yourself with what's in the box.
We find it very helpful to get a good feel for what's in the box and to know the parts that are being referenced when the instructions start to talk about specific pieces. That way you know what to grab for the next step right away.
In step 2 / video 2, we'll start to dive into the actual model building and begin to build!
We hope you enjoy this complete how-to series. If you want to support our efforts you can help us here at / hoscalecustoms

For over a year I've been following (and a little harassing) HO Scale Customs. I kept hearing about "Acid Tape". Brett and Todd have talked about, explained and commented. But not till today, when Brett held it up did I really under stand it. And realized I have tons of it. I also use clear laminate from when my wife taught school. For small jobs, I'll still (pardon the pun) Sticking to Canopy Glue for small jobs.

Just bought this kit thanks to you and your video series. I’m new to craftsman kits so I can’t wait to start into building this kit also.

Just an opinion but one would think (at least I would) that the kit manufacture would make instructional videos. The first one I built 50 plus years ago pretty much just threw you into the deep end.
