As the new owner, I can not express how much I appreciate this video! But now it's even harder to wait for it to arrive in the US 😅.
Enjoy it Sir.
It’s a beauty. Congratulations.
Huge congratulations sir. Its a beauty.
Thank you for letting JWW share it with us. This was my boyhood dream car - yes, even above the McLaren F1...
Many happy miles in this icon Sir !!
George Harrison took me out in an XJ220. Was working in Henley and he arrived opposite to have some work done on it at a local garage. Noticed me paying attention to the car and called me over. He was not shy about putting his foot down! Used to see him and another famous George, George Cole, out and about around Henley quite often. George Cole loved his Jags! Both were incredibly kind and humble people. Is this a return to Modern Classics James?
A truly beautiful car. A real barn find for real. Welldone to the team that restored this and brought it back to life.
I was very fortunate to have been driven by Justin in their pre-production XJ220 (chassis 004, the one from Top Gear that was crashed) back in 2018 on the roads around their workshop.
I'll never forget how low and sleek it looked and how flipping fast it was!
Their workshop and storeroom is a treasure trove too, with the original wooden buck as well as plenty of cars in various states of undress/repair/build.
They also had a lovely white BMW M1, a bunch of XJR-15s (one signed by Tom Walkinshaw) and a 1 of 3 Luster Storm 🤤
Thanks from the bottom of my heart. You have saved and pampered an absolute masterpiece. Jaguar XJ220, in my opinion, is the most beautiful car in the history of automobiles. It's perfect, it has a shape that will always be current but even futuristic and vintage. With the black alloy wheels it touches the divine. You are great!
P.S. with all due respect I prefer it without stickers, but......what is born beauty will be always beauty
Totally underrated amazing car
Great to see these videos back again, been a while.
I work for JLR Classic so get to see beautiful cars everyday, but when we have an XJ220 in it really puts a smile on my face! (I think we have 3 at the moment)
I remember using the XJ220 in the first Gran Turismo, such a cool car
Gran Turismo 2. Wasn't in the first game.
😅👍🏻
@@TheBadBunny87 I thought it was the first it’s been 20+ years since I’ve played that game
@@charlie1832 I played it religiously. Jaguar and the XJ220 appeared on GT2. TVR and Aston Martin were the only British manufacturers on Gran Turismo 1 iirc.
Look at that elegance😮
An old school JWW video excellent please do some more ❤
Oh I have a real soft spot for the XJ220. I was a spotty 17 year old in his first year of driving (a base Mk1 Fiesta with 957cc, thank you for asking lol) when this spaceship was launched. That soft "bar of soap" styling was so different to everything else on the road. I distinctly remember reading Autocar with this on the cover, during a college lesson! Then seeing it at the British Motor Show. Just wow! XJ220 seemed to have everything against it at the time, in terms of the market crash, and I've always loved an underdog, so it's good to see the XJ220 getting the recognition it's always deserved. What a machine!!
This was and is my poster car. What a lucky guy you are.
it really was a barn find, super iconic car and to think at one point they were almost worthless and now fetching hefty sums of money and rightly so, some of these cars from the 80's & 90's have increased in value so much, 80k for a Ferrari 288 GTO back in the day and now commanding over 3 million nikka 😲 hoping my trio of 70's & early 2000's fast Fords will give me enough ROI to obtain something special when i retire 👍
Hope you don't mind me askin, but what Fords do you have?
Its still crazy that it's so big, yet only has a V6 engine! The history of this particular car is just awesome and a shame Jaguar really doesn't race anymore.
Restricted intakes on those XJ220Rs lololllolol BUT ......... DRIVEN BY F1 DRIVERS . Being the Keys an told 2 GO SHOW WHAT THESE JAGS can do.
Mr JWW Absolutely Incredible Video I think it's absolutey insane that a Jaguar XJ220 was found in a the Ostrich Shred of Tom Walkinshaw and I'm glad it was saved
Looks stunning
What a stunning and beautiful car! 💙👊
I remember when that first came out. An amazing masterpiece.
Thanks for sharing this with us. 😎😎😎👍👍👍
One of my favourite supercars from 90's...together with EB110 and Mc F1 🎉
What a piece of history !! Such an informative vid James and TWR is just so legendary 👍🏻🍻🇨🇦
I watched that car race in person at Indianapolis. The race series was crazy with a lot of cars getting damaged.
That’s very cool!
Didn't they run the XJR-15s too in the same event?
Tom Walkinshaw is a legend here in Australia
Amazing story and car. Love these style of videos.
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching 😎🏁
Brings me back to need for speed 2 … what an awesome car 🤨😂❤️🤙🏻🏁
What a monster of a car!
Such a special car 👌
❤nice
So jealous,, love to drive one, for me,old school is the best 😁.
Old skool beast!
The follow cam is wild. The car moves like a rollerskate over the bumps in the road. The suspension looks nonexistent.
LEGEND
Wow truly my dream car ❤️🌹🥂
British People should be proud of this car .
Definitely the most unique pronunciation of "decals" ever.
The sounds of the turbos are incredible
So cool!
What a car 🤩. Beautiful video, not a fan of the music while you’re driving tho
More Don Law Racing please❤.
I was driving that in GT7.....must say it is so special even in simulator/game...cant imagine in real life....
Next gumball car? Would be cool to see an XJ220 cruising at 5 over with all those crazy cars.
Mr Gumball already ran his XJ220S at 1 or 2 Gumball 3000 runs.
Its definitely a lottery win car for me, amazing looking with the performance to back it up.
2 OG "Super cars" 4 me r the XJ220 & F40" mens cars, love the fact they developed own tyres so they can live on; thats passion!! 😎👊👍✌👌
Dear James, i believe you talked shit on the F40. Please do make a video about 220 vs f40, we all wanna see it :D
Thankkkk uuuuuu Sir. JWW
always INCREDIBLE work.
Restricted intakes on those XJ220Rs lololllolol BUT ......... DRIVEN BY F1 DRIVERS . Being the Keys an told 2 GO SHOW WHAT THESE JAGS can do.
No F,s GIVEN lol those are the WORDS NEVER TO B SAID TO RACING DRIVERS IN YOUR CARS LOL
My dream car.
I've only ever saw one, late 90's in Stratford upon avon, with an Orange number plate with 'Q8' on it.....Ill never forget...Ha !
This maybe filmed from my hometown, think his names Justin law, he collects xj220 I noticed him on goodwood festival of speed and I used drive past there race shop in fenton which would be full to the front of just jaguar xj220’s, think they also put an xj220 engine into a transit van and put it on an episode of top gear. Just thought I’d let you know
I remember watching that racing series on the Nashville network back then. It was strange seeing like, A.J. Foyt racing a supercar.
Very cool!
💯James
The tyre situation is a little confusing. What was stopping someone from just sticking a modern high performance alternative on it? Sizing? If so, would it not have just been simpler to update the wheels to allow fitment, rather than develop a new tyre?
And than thinking that the engine comes from a Group B Metro 6R4 insane!
Beast of an engine. They were making 470hp NA and over 800hp turbocharged in race trim.
FH4 IRL😍🏎️
😮😲😍
i had to listen to that name 5 times. it's Wilkenshaw not Walkingshaw(as in TWR)correct. i grew up and still loved those xjc's and xjs' they raced. how funny having such a similiar name. cheeky bugger. extraordinary cars!!!
My favourite super car from being a child
This is and still is my poster car I love the shape of this beast British engineering at its best super sexy lines gorgeous
Isn't Max from the GUMBALL 3000 car parked in ME,ME, ME150 garage a XJ220s .. and that 2.20 with the Martini livery is CLASS LOOKING ✌🇮🇪
The vnts looks like they have been lifted out from a Ford Sierra. So then I have almost owned a XJ220.
Is the instrument cluster from a Ford? Genuine question.
There were rumours of owners bricking these up behind walls, around the time of their launch.
Not to mention how many people tried to get their £50,000 deposits back when the stock market collapsed in the late 80's.
It is one car I would love to own, if I ever won multiple millions.
Why did they have to develop their own tyre?
they ran out of tyres and no manufacture made them in that size anymore
I’ve taken my F type R up that road many a time. The 220 looks equally as good !!!
Get the peeons out of my stinking pizza shop.
Ridiculous in left hand drive , the WRONG SIDE, a Jag is british convert it now. Even on race tracks they are better as a RHD
