Thank you so much! My 12 year old son is about to have heart surgery in June. We were given choices tissue valve but the cardiologist said that is not a wise choice for our son. Then he said Ross procedure or mechanical valve. My husband and I are really thinking mechanical valve we really do not want him to have to go through this again. He was born with Aortic stenosis and it is now time for surgery we want what is best for him and your video truly helped. Bless you! Praying our son will do well and be able to live a happy life!

I am 26 and my case is very very rare almost I am the only one in this world with combination of such type of complications.
@@parraszubair my son is doing great thank God and his surgeon and Cardiologist. He will be on blood thinners because we went with the mechanical valve he did end up having heart blockage and unfortunately also needed to have a 2nd surgery a week later for a pacemaker. It’s been almost 7 months now and he does get chest pain every now and then but his cardiologist said it’s normal after a big surgery like that. I hope you are doing well! Thank you for asking about my son. He had his aortic valve replaced.

I have lost my 12 years old brother 3.5 years ago with myocardial infarction because treatment of Familial Hypercholesteremia homozygous was not available here in our country and we're not able to go abroad for treatment.
Please remember me in your prayers as I am passing through very difficult time of my life. I hope soon I will have surgery and I don't know what will be the results of this surgery but I will not take step back.I will fight till last breath.I want to do struggle and try.I hope my struggle will be fruitful.

OnX carbon valve is a good choice. See my videos on aortic valve replacement options in aortic stenosis (principles are the same in all types of avr). Still repair/ross or xenograft root would offer a better lifestyle and better haemodynamics
Worth mentioning a mechanical valve may need to be removed with a case involving endocarditis. As was the case with my first aortic valve replacement.. it was replaced with a tissue valve and I'll have my second mechanical valve in a matter of weeks due to stenosis/regurgitation of the tissue replacement.

I am not sure about the fact regarding death if not treated within 2 yrs. For me, it was 3 yrs and 8 months from the time I was told I needed a valve replacement to the actual operation. The surgeon that did my operation first suggested a mechanical then did the Ross Procedure. I did not like the nechanical because of the clicking and the meds required. The other aspect was I was looking forward in time to the potential injuries where the warfarin may interfere with getting medical aid

t a v r transcatheter aortic valve replacement goes into the femoral artery and does not require open heart surgery.
I think it's important that this was mentioned however it was not.

You may be best served these days with a tissue valve such as Avalus or Inspiris Resilia. You should discuss with your surgeon

I have had it three months ago. Feeling very normal. Started walking and doing all my normal stuff
I had aorta surgery in 2022 and at 1 year routine check up they said I have severe aortic regurgitation and I must do aortic valve replacement.
I'm still paralyzed. What to do??? Mechanical valve and warfarin are terrifying to me.
I'm going to need eye surgery in the near future and warfarin will make everything more risky. Not doing anything about the valve is a guaranteed death in 1-2 year.
I'm 30 and wish I could be more positive but I just have dark thoughts and fear.
I'm tired of life.

I live in Bosnia and the only half-decent heart surgery center is in Belgrade (Serbia). They just told me my surgery is in August. I don't know the name of my surgeon, the exact date (it just says urgency: 90 days) nobody talked to me... That's how they work.
I'm seriously considering doing nothing and spending the remaining year or two with my family.
Well, someone under the age of 50 who chooses a mechanical valve will one day be over 70 still requiring Warfarin. Is the risk of bleeding only surgery related or a general risk?
Maybe you can get it replaced with a tissue valve.
After 10 years of open heart surgery on warfarin ,
Sir what is treatment if aortic mechanical valve is not making sound ....but the problem in breathing shows about 10 to 20% and
as body feels normal on relaxing condition ..
but now I am suffering suffocation sometimes hard breathing
Is oral therapy of anticoagulant can recover the mechanical valve sound and normal function of heart....

The impression of report is
1)Peak and mean systolic gradient across AV prosthesis is 52& 33 mmHg
2) moderately severe AR. (Grade 2-3/4) (AR jet occupies more than 70% of the LVOT Area)
3) Dilated ascending aorta 45mm
4)Good LV/RV systolic function at rest .overall LVEF:55-60 %
