That brown turned out very nice. It's the perfect color for a station wagon.
Old Volvos 'float like battleships & sting like buses.' Excellent resto👍🙂
It's always good to spend time alone with the wife. Beautiful brown on that wagon.
I would like to see more Matchbox Specials and Kingsize resto's. Love the colour of the Volvo.Keep up the good work.
Looks real nice. Definitely recommend Volvo. When my grandad bought his 1986 740 GLE there was nothing like it. Beautiful leather interior, rode so well, solid and refined. We still have it. I used to crank my Miami Sound Machine tape to 11. Volvo needs to be silver.
Nice story about your car, glad it's still in your family. I agree that 740s just look right in silver but growing up i saw so many 240s in green or brown. Cool cars though. Nice that Rob's work can take us back to these memories!
@@madmike8v72 240 is driven by Giovanni Ribisi on the movie "ted".
Most of the other model restoration channels I watch use white primer; you're the first one who I've seen use black. Your results speak for themselves. You've gained a subscriber.
Own one of these excellent Corgi models.Back in the day you used to see loads of Volvos and Saabs.Given the vehicles build quality and durability it makes you wonder where they went.Great car Rob.
Nice job on the small details too... Another OUTSTANDING restoration!
I love those 240s. That brown is perfect.
I must say that is one of my favorites, I love the paint and the rims look good on it.
Nice quickie clean up .
Never knew that you spent so much time on some castings, obviously your not doing them in 25 minutes of a video but never knew some took so long.
Thanks for sharing
You've actually managed to make a very vanilla Volvo look cool. 😎
Reminds me a little of a stretched Land Rover Discovery with those wheels.
I had one of these when I was a child and Volvo is from my home country. :) Hello from Brighton btw!
I wish I can get my hands on this Volvo ..kinda brings back memories
Nicely done my friend
Appreciate the approach of asking what you can do for people to subscribe, I’ve literally seen 400k channels complaining that their videos that get millions of views are viewed mostly by unsubscribed people, it just comes across as ungrateful and whiny to me. You earned my sub ages ago, so to me you don’t have to change anything👌🏻
Did a really good job on this I must admit
I love what you did with the Volvo. I remember the estate that they raced in the British Touring Car Championship.
The 850 Turbo-brick!
Rob great job on the paint job luv this color you choice job well done
Nice one Rob , that Volvo looks pretty good in the brown bronze type colour 😉👍
I just bought a brand new Dodge Demon from a limited Hot Wheels collection and your videos are helping me SO much. I'm doing meticulous job at the front grill, tail and headlights, I want it to be perfect! Repainting it with a satin bloody burgundy, matte black top and hood, and I added the yellow splitter protector because I'm biased and I think it looks amazing.
Great job Rob. I had one of these as. K reg. I sold it with 200k and it was still going strong. I was a builder back then and it spent it’s days in the week hauling heavy loads of bricks, sand and cement and on the weekend being the family shopping and touring car. Loved it and the only car I really miss. As for subscribers. Just keep on doing what you do. I subscribed after watching a few videos following subscribing to Danny of diecast disasters. It probably takes a few vids before people decide to subscribe
Thanks mate
I just accidentally sent a message to Rob at MatchboxGarage!! 😱
Good lord..
hopefully he’ll understand.
I enjoy watching you and Rob very much 🙂👍
Good old Volvo 245. my dad has owned a few Volvo 240s over the years but never the kombi version. Also man was happy when I unlocked the volvo 740 in forza horizon 4. As some one how grew up in the mid 80s sweden I love the older 140,240,740 Volvo's allot.
Felicitaciónes por el canal! Muy buen trabajo. No pierdes ningun detalle, sobre todo los faros traseros que nadie los tiene en cuenta. Un buen like a este canal porque se lo merece. Sigue así. Saludos desde ARGENTINA. 👏👏💪
I would say a 99.9762% paint removal 🤓
You are my favorite of all dude.. great job again
Hi Rob, another great video, what a selection of cars to restore, especially that VW Polo, the finished Volvo is really smart with the paint and wheels.
Another superb custom/restoration, the colour really suits this legendary Swedish icon, Volvos always have represented the first and last word in ultimate safety innovation!.
Flying bricks are the coolest turbo cars ever in my opinion! And with custom paint they are even more insane.
I heard many years ago that Volvo was the safest car in the world, don't know if it's true or not. This little one you just restored looks pretty nice, maybe the set of tires doesn't fit perfect, but the casting is wonderful, nice colour. And don't be worried about subscribers, sooner or later they will be more, many people is watching your videos and that's a good thing, keep on your great job 👍
Looks very good, that colour is just awesome and fits well on Volvo😎
I remember when these older 200 series Volvos were common, many of those were painted dark brown, but not candy 😄
Those "bricks" are called also "sea containers" in here Finland 😄
I like Volvos and we have two of them right now, not bricks, but 2001 V70 2,4t and 2011 V60 diesel, i like Volvos because they work well also on cold winters.
Great restoration and paint job!
You made that look something special... Again... Nice one....
Nicely done, sir. Brown was a good choice.
The T-Bird rootbeer brown was the perfect color choice for this. Conservative color, like Volvos by nature, but with a little bling.
looks great. totally understand the fight to get something look right. as I said in my PM a bit ago finally starting this hobby and been struggling wit my first 2. strppied my 68 nova for the wife 3 times now lol. again looks awesome and keep up the great work
Defiantly digging the color
Looks a ton better, nice job!
The Turbo brick lives
You’re right Rob, I was looking at the wheels and thinking “hmm looks like a T5...” seconds before you mentioned it! Was never a fan of these things as road cars but oh man do they make a good banger...! 😮🤔👍
my dad had a 450SEL when i was around 6.They look great in metallic red
Very cool and great work on the Volvo 245 DL . Nice wheels and paint . I think it would be cool to see you do the family truckster wagon for the National Lampoon's Vacation .
The paint came out really nice and the wheels give it a modern SUV look. Well done.👍👍😊
Excellent work as always I'm not the only one who shops at th pound shop
I watch a lot of videos, for a long time, but without subscribing .. But last week I created an account just to subscribe to your channel and Danny's .. Thanks a lot from France for your great videos! 😀
Thanks mate 😎
Hi Rob, Poundland is a modellers gold mine. I have some of that Gold paint and it is great for the MB Mk10 Jag, comes out a slightly lighter shade than the original brown/gold, but looks very good. Also the 2 part epoxy is great, I used it to mold a tank end for the MB sugar tanker and it sets very hard, in fact it took a little filing to get the cast to fit properly and it definitely held up to some hard work with the file without crumbling to dust. The Super glue is good for what you pay although a little thin for super delicate work but fine for gluing back 'A' pillar repairs with some bicarb to set it, and again it stands up to filing any excess of.
Love these cars. Always wanted the old man to have one but like most families in 70s and 80s a cortina was the choice
Great video, The volvo turned out great. I'd love to see that big Chevy truck in candy Sapphire Blue over silver😎👍
Would have loved it had you made it look like Jerry Leadbetter's infamous Volvo 240DL Estate from The Good Life. I still have my original orange one from the 1970s. Eventual colour looks absolutely spot on for the era this car was on the road! Fabulous effort as ever!
As to why nobody subscribes? No, baffles me as well!!
I'll be anxious to see you work your magic on these..
Great job mate, that brown looks awesome🤘
The paint is lovely and suits the volvo well! The wheels are a bit much but a great job!
As always never ever let me down fantastic job results, and awesome bunch of cars wow well done Cheers KC Tassie Australia
Nice Restoration
This model is beautiful! Never seen it before. Love Volvo, my grandma used to own one and it was really awesome! Also just wanted to say that you inspired me to work on some cars as well, took part my first one today and fixed it up, thanks for the great videos!
Looks good Rob .
Very nice restoration
Nice restoration
Love the look of that one
LOVE THE COLOR CHOICE! You couldn't have chosen better.
Nice looking paint.
Great look
That 260Z will be quite the challenge..
Well done.
....another awesome resto...
Great job on the Volvo Rob, nice choice for the colour! You can definitely tell this was Corgi's budget brand, that casting would look way off to anyone who's even vaguely familiar withe the 245.
Always been a fan of the 240 estate, hope this ends up with me!
Nice job Rob, got a kinda donk custom style going on with those wheels I like it 👍
Very Nice excellent car Beautful color 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome. Restoration. !
Really great job!!!!
Rob that glittering gold paint you bought is the ideal gold to use on the Corgi 261 Aston Martin 007 Bond car if you ever do one 👍
Perfect paint, perfect whells and perfect casting, incredibel priducts, for the casting,
Love the color
Rob it looks amazing. If you are considering buying a turbo brick, look for a garaged, and well documented one. Otherwise they are money pits. I'd love to see you do a version of Hoovies turbo brick. I think you would do a killer job 🍻
That's the brownest brown Volvo that ever browned. :)
Nice finds
You asked what I would like to see. I have seen a few videos and this looks all nice, but perhaps you could detail the inside a bit more. I always liked to look into the windows of the car, but then was almost always disappointed to it all in one single color. For instance this Volvo had some different detailing (it was my first car). "Just" painting it black, you loose a lot of detail.
Please see this as positive feedback! Love the work you do, it is somehow very relaxing to watch :-)
I had a C2 Corette in racing green , it was an Eldon Stingray , l've also still got a C3 Eldon Stingray remote control car which the steering was powered by a pneumatic style hand controller.
SWEET SWEET one of my fav Volvo wagons oh snap and I just picked up a new addition to my collection and it's a 1/24 scale x class Mercedes pickup truck in gold and I'm digging it as well as the Volvo again thank you so so much for all the hard work you do for us
Love your stuff
Looks great my friend :)
Well done sir love all your work l dont have a tap I sure wish I did hope soon then I can make a restoration
Love the car choice Rob. Always wanted to get one of these and paint it like up like a Nike shoe box.
Looks good to me. I'm already subscribed, but I think an occasional diorama, military or otherwise, would be interesting..
Fun.
I had no idea they took so long.
Thanks for sharing.
Top job 👍👍
I look great bro, you have a very good talent
A custom patrol car would make anyone subscribe!
I shattered my wrist my good friend.
Unable to work.. therefore, my finances are tight.
I shall send you photographs lol 😆
Get ready for a horror show 😝
Much love ❤️ from Canada 🇨🇦
I have several PlayArts in my childhood collection. ( one of them a Batmobile )
A shame they aren't made any more, since they were really nice high quality cars.
That body style reminds me of a Jeep Cherokee or something like that. Turned out very nice. I love the unboxing at the end of your videos. Great job.
Nice decision for refurb rob
- yeah I’ve been in that shop in battlesbridge
Never liked Volvo’s but this one looks good mate!
The casting seemed to be more of a Jeep than a Volvo. Nevertheless it turned out beautifully. When you asked about the color. I though beige, brown, silver, and green. The candy brown turned out great. Nice haul from both from Poundland and the box of cars at the Antique store. I look forward to further episodes. See ya.
The front end looked more like a Land Rover Defender than a Volvo. From original, pre Hornby Corgi's final years, in the early 1980's, when they seemed to be 'phoning it in'. A sad time.
I'd kinda like to see this compared to the new HotWheels Volvo 850, wonder which looks better customized.
That color really suits it, nice car.
Looks like you bought some supplies as well as some castings..
Anyway Rob nice work on that Volvo 245! Volvo has been best known for Station Wagons, I got myself a Hot Wheels Volvo 850 wagon some time back.
And I see you got a playart maybe you can finale do a video on restoring and customizing one, the Corvette I think it could be a Yatming or another Hong Kong/Chinese brand since some cheap diecast cars were made in China and sold on the world toy market as other brands.
Nice Aftermarket wheels..
