      @@ycc7744 Oh really ?? It was the US, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar who funded and armed the anti-government fighters. Especially Turkey used its border to let tens of thousands of foreign jihadists in. Many of them joined Daesh (ISIS). The US and allies predicted and exploited that Daesh (ISIS) would emerge.
      So Syria's government really released jihadists from jail ?? How many ? Most of them in which year ? Which groups were they part of ?

    • @arandomguy9
      @arandomguy9 Před 6 lety +10

      No the western support didn't arrive until it was nearly already too late
      Seriously they airdropped packages and some of them ended up in the hands of jihadists. You should look up the entire battle, they had jack shit for weaponry and were out gunned 1/10
      80% of their fighting force were women of which 300 of them were soldiers (correct me if I'm wrong) and 700 were armed citizens. vs 7000-1000 men who were at the time their best soldiers AND they had M1A1 abrams tanks and all of the loot they took from Iraq. Granted the Air support definitely helped but at first it was actually making the Jihadists more desperate to capture the city sending in EVERYTHING, but later on those Airstrikes definitely made a difference. But they were not the deciding factors, much like the reason the Soviets won WASN'T Due to the air force in Russia at that time, but rather due to the relentless willpower of the soldiers and civilians fighting to survive.
      That's what won BOTH Kobane AND Deir Ez Zor and we shouldn't detract from either of them.
      At least with the SAA in Deir ez zor they had mostly soldiers and were lucky that the jihadists weren't trying nearly as hard to push with everything they had. But to be able to hold it for three years was definitely something, I'm not sure if most of the SAA were stuck in Deir Ez Zor OR if they were split between Hasakah and Qamishli
      Both in desperate month long blitz siege of Kobane AND prolonged war of attrition VS SAA, the Jihadists failed on both accounts, So i see nothing but praise for both defenders of those cities.

    Hello everyone, I'm Syrian, currently in Syria and have been so for the whole crisis. for your information:
    1- The Syrian government represented by President Bashar Al-Assad did not give direct orders to kill civilians which most would say Sunni Muslims, if it were true then the Syrian government would have fallen long ago since currently the majority of the population in the territories under Syrian government control is still Sunni Muslims (Damascus, Aleppo ... etc). it's true that civilian casualties may have fallen to Syrian Arab Army fire during combat in urban areas, but not under direct orders.
    2- The Russian presence is only the aerospace forces in Hmeimeem airbase and the technical support center and is limited on the ground to advisors and groups of special forces and they do not control ground, now they control points in the de-escalation zones. Iranian presence is limited to volunteers and advisors who fight alongside the SAA and they don't hold ground either, Hizbullah also fights alongside SAA on the eastern fronts and used to control some areas close to the Lebanese borders (according to my knowledge, not sure if it's still there). There are also volunteers from various other countries who fight alongside SAA but none of whom control ground.
    3- Iranian support is not limited to weapons and ammunition (we have ammunition industry) but also includes commodities no longer available to the Syrian government due to sanctions such as oil, gas and wheat (lost in the east), medical equipment and medication, power generators, ... etc. other countries provide similar goods with less quantities.
    4- it's true that the crisis started by Syrian people, which explains why some call it the Syrian Civil War, but today foreign militants make up the vast majority of the forces the SAA is fighting, so it's more accurate to call it the Syrian Crisis or the Syrian War since the term Civil War no longer describes the situation accurately.
    5- there is no interest for the Syrian Government to use chemical weapons against civilians, and there is no concrete evidence that indicates the SAA used them, only testimonies and videos which are not considered concrete evidence. It's not in the government's interest to use it against jihadists because they occupy inhabited areas, and using chemical weapons prevents the SAA from occupying ground, which is the SAA's ultimate goal, to take control of and occupy the entire Syrian territory.
    6- Superpowers have interest in this oil-rich region called the middle east, and superpowers' interest play a role in this crisis.

    • @erikjohansson4275
      @erikjohansson4275 Před 6 lety +29

      Yes. The evidence on the chemical attacks is very murky, but the evidence that does exist points at the rebel groups, _not_ the Syrian government. Similarly, it doesn't make logical sense for the Syrian government to have used chemical weapons, but it does make sense for the rebels to have used it. Also, Syria gave away it's chemical weapons. It's possible that Syria has some chemical weapons left, but we can't be sure. We do however KNOW that the rebels have access to chemical weapons.
      The chemical attacks are almost certainly NOT by the Syrian government as you say.

      The official Un-investigation has disproven any use of chemical weapons by the Assadi-gouvernment back in the day.
      Now to those recent alleged attacks, they were reported by the white-helmets, a group that got its credibility removed back in the early 2000s, also, the only one blocking an Un-investigation is the Usa, which leads us to very realisticly suspect they had their filthy hands in this.

Then we began to throw stones when they got close hoping we could defend the village but it was too late so we jumped in an abandoned irrigation canal and ran. I fled to Russia and they saved my life as a refugee. I owe it all to Russia.

      Sooo, not intervention. The government gradually began to support Assad. Soooooo all the opponents were brought to the border of Turkey. Because neither Russia nor America could keep them under control. Because they are not Muslims. Iranian? Iran is not in Sunni sect. And Iran is fighting with them. There is only Turkey that does not fight with them. Not intervention.
      And also for now I do not think there will be an incident near İdlib and the border of Turkey. There is a political turmoil in my country. Erdogan is losing votes. And the only reason they lose this vote is foreign policy.

I am going to subscribe to your channel to follow future changes. Since you are closely following Syrian situation, I suggest that you introduce a 'war update' component on your channel in the following manner: Run an update of the map and on a side bar run clips of major news items. I think you will have a lot of subscribers. Just some thoughts :) All the best and looking forward to seeing more of your work on the Channel. All the best.

The kurds mostly want independence and then Saudi Arabia has its rebels who want to make an Arab Muslim government, Isis who are also backed by all to of Saudis, then turkey with its rebels, America and most European countries with there own prefered rebel groups mostly for oil.
