Watching you and hearing about your cleaning out stuff had me motivated to work on some of my areas. Thank you so much for all that you are.
Love the pitt artist pens! I use those as my daily writing pen in my bujo. Same here though, no idea what kind of ink, but Kara, I would suggest they're more water resistant than waterproof. Glad you are taking something else! I get smearing sometimes when used with water based markers with the pitts, occasionally some feathering even with the tombows if I don't let them dry long enough.
That Monotwin pen also comes in the Tombow Beginner Lettering set and Advanced Lettering Sets along with a pencil, eraser, a Fudenosuke and a couple of their brush tip markers. That's how I ended up with that particular pen as well - I never use it because the oil-based ink is permanent and bleeds through regular paper. Great choice for your trip and your travel book though!
I have Write in the Rain equipment for birding! Found at REI.
How about the Pilot envelope addressing pens? Definitely waterproof and a couple different tip sizes... very black ink and write well.
Enjoy your journey!
You'll have to do a wet paper test on that marker.
I was about to suggest the same! I'd definitely make sure that the ink won't smudge if it gets wet and if the pen will write on wet paper.
That's what I was thinking. If the concern is about the notebook getting wet, don't you want to make sure the ink stays put when it gets wet?? Very confused about that.
Yay! Super excited you're going with a rite in the rain! Sorry about the ballpoint pen -- I really dislike them as well, but it was all I had at the time. Would like to see if Tombow can steer us in the direction of some more of the oil based markers. Have u tried a wet test yet?
Have a nice day!
How long will Kara be away on the trail?🤔
I don't like to use ball point pens either! The ink is never intense enough and it fades even more while using the pen...even though I had to use them for notes during uni because they works better with whiteouts. For my bujo my choice will always be a Staedtler Pigment Liner (0.1 or 0.05)
It's great that you're not bringing what doesn't "spark joy." :D
I have an oil based pen similar to that Tombow pen from MUJI. I’ll give it to you at PlannerCon so you have a backup on the trail!
