the only problem is that this mod isn't compatible with lots of other things because it changes minecraft's openGL itslef. Though, if you're doing a vanilla playthrough this mod is really good

It's not compatible with most gpu's made before 2015, because that year vulkan released, but some even before 2015 got driver updates to support vulkan.

Suggestion to break minecraft,
Make a 100x100 cube of chests full of the maximum amount of items (using the NBT+ thing) and have them placed repeatedly by a command block using /fill and have another command block using /fill (destroy) that same 100x100 area and just wait a few seconds
Also would be cool to see with the max optimisation how it handles it

Thats because Sodium takes advantage of minecraft's default rendering API which is OpenGL. You can't use OpenGL and Vulkan at the same time since they are different APIs

Vulcan rendering works best with AMD integrated graphics or graphics cards, but it also fairs well on other cpus.
To me it seems that this mod (if it does what I think it does) is literally the best mod you can pair with optifine to run minecraft on most low end laptops, or add more fps to the many hundreds you may have.

the reason why it may be crashing is probably because you're using other mods. vulkan is very incompatible with other mods and is recommended to be used as a single mod
