in 2006 this cutscene looked so realistic to me as a kid, now in 2020, i can't help but notice the green screen and obvious fx and live actor not being part of the scenery haha, still amazing childhood moment!
He's actually the good guy. That's what makes this game so awesome to play! At best you're playing an Anti-Hero. Cross is trying to keep Rockport and it's citizens safe, while you're trying to get your car back from razor.

i killed cross, (well kinda) when i was grinding my bounty near that concert stage place where cops can't get there, i saw cross's car and while i was waiting, the car got flipped over by another car and got destroyed, it even said "cross" when saying that i immobilized a police car.
What a nice guy. Gave the player a free pin stripe. Their car just wasn't complete without one, and now it's perfect. But really though, we need a 10 hour version where it's super slowed down and all you hear is the key grinding on the car with the sound intensified. Good ASMR.

You don't understand. This is the below m3 gtr, it's a race car built by bmw to race in the ALMS and 24 hour races. It's a fully fledged race car that's not street legal. Cross was commenting on the interior since it's completely stripped out and fitted with a race interior.
A surprise that will tear us apart from the inside out, and in the intro their is a corvette racing with street racers but its actually a cop. Maybe they were gonna add something like that in the story.
I think it would have neat if there was some kind of Sting feature, where rarely during a race, one or more of the racers may start flashing red and blue lights and turn out to be an undercover cop, and the race gets broken up as you have to evade, and these undercover racers would be harder than normal and somewhat act like Cross. Alternatively, I think it would have been cool if there was a Blacklist racer who drives a white Corvette that looks suspiciously reminiscent of a Federal Cruiser, and at some point in the story, in fact does reveal themself to be an undercover cop as a bunch of racers get busted, after which point for the rest of the game, the undercover cop has a chance of appearing in heat level 5 pursuits just like Cross, but separately from them, meaning you could potentially get more than one "elite" unit chasing you at the same time in the same pursuit, just for higher stakes. If only the AI didn't rubberband you so horribly it wouldn't matter anyway, I'd like to think this undercover Blacklist dude would be faster than Cross, having a car that's outfitted for high speed racing, but they'd be reckless, being a bit of an aggressive hothead prone to spinning out or inadvertently crashing, whereas Cross would be smarter and have a more level and strategic method of chasing you. Man I'd love a reboot of this game that doesn't suck.

The live actor was part of the scenery. He has an appearance but the face is never shown. It's for a very short time. After you defeat Razor.
