  • In this episode we are going to Monaco on foot to explore it, before setting of to Bormio at the other side of Italy. To make it more exciting I wanted to include at least one pass that day. When planning, I didn't know Passo Gavia will be the most dangerous pass I've ever done!

I just wanted to say that your cinematography, production, coupled with fantastically married music selection is as good as any TV production including Top Gear, if not better.
Watching this extended trip series makes me want to explore Europe more with my sports car. Well done and keep it coming.
(PS if you do southern France again, do consider Gorges du Verdon - excellent roads and spectacular...)

Thank you. Comments like this always give me a boost to go out there and film. Unfortunately this type of content really doesn’t pay off in anyway but satisfaction. But I do them to capture my memories and share with people like you, who appreciate my work. I’m also hoping it will encourage people to do the same and experience something amazing. Thanks again mate!

From St Moritz over Bernina, Livigno, d'Eira into Bormio and over Gavia en route to Merano and the Dolomites in one our SLKs was one of the most memorable driving days. We were in clear sunshine at top of Gavia but the white clouds far below to south gave us the impression we were flying!

Definitely deserve more views. Maybe having M2 in the titles would make it pop up in searches more.
      Just a thought 👍

This summer I drove this pass as well in my 2001 Renault Twingo because my sat nav thought it was the fastest route... and I was not prepared for it at all. I came from Stelvio, so I did it the other way around. It was getting dark, it was raining, tons of traffic driving like mad men. I genuinely felt my blood rush down to my feet as I thought I was going to die when I turned round the first downhill hairpin. Couldn't imagine how terrifying it would be in a wider, more powerful, and RWD car like the M2... You guys definitely chose the right side to ascent

I just stumbled across this channel. Great video! I can appreciate the rough road way near the top of the pass. In 2022, my wife and I took our 2018 Stingray to the top of Mount Evans (14,120ft) and the road was quite bad in spots, to the point we were down to 5mph and weaving around potholes and heaves in the road while waving motorcycles and 4x4s by us. The view from the top was well worth it though. I'll be watching more!

We did that pass in 2018 in the M2, going from Lake Garda to Stuttgart. My gf was so terrified she didn't look out of the window for the whole climb. In the old days the road ran next to the tunnel, that must have been really dangerous.

Haha poor her. I can imagine it would be even worst if not the tunnel! All the best. Regards

Marek, Excellent video as allways. I cant wait to take my M140i again our for these drives in spring. Btw, did you notice also the crazy(suicidal driving) in Italy as soon as you crossed the border?

Kocham góry i przełęcze

Moje wyrazy szacunku za to ze jechałeś po tych drogach kamperem. Stelvio rzeczywiście musiało być trudne szczególnie przy szczycie na tych wąskich nawrotach. Dziękuje za komentarz i gorąco pozdrawiam.

Isn't Gavia one-way traffic ? One hour up traffic and the other hour down traffic ? Have Gavia (amongst many others) planned for next summer

No it’s two way, just done it south to north a week ago on a bike. Most demanding pass I’ve ridden. You need your wits about you

@@anthonynewton7987 Did Gavia now two times with the Z4. First one South to Nord we faced another car on the small part. Very slow driving ;-) Controlled one-way traffic is on Staller pass, did that pass last june. Also nice but Gavia is better.
