  • Today we ride in a region just north of St. George, Utah. We start off our ride on the very fun and flowy Prospector trail. Further down we connect with Church Rocks. Church Rocks is a fun, undulating intermediate trail that offers a combination of hard clay-packed and slickrock sections with a few technical features that more advanced riders may want to try. On the western end of the trail there is a brief diversion off the main trail which offers a playground of slickrock features to ride. The trail offers great views of the valley and interesting rock formations.
Dino Cliffs is a very similar trail, and although ranked as an expert trail, isn't much harder than Church Rocks. Dino Cliffs is a very fun singletrack that runs along the edge of red rock cliffs. The trail has 4-5 short sections of chunk and rolls that are advanced black diamond features. Heading west, the trail ends at a sandy hill, and at the base of this hill are the Dino footprints.

Yes, St. George is a great place to ride. You can also ride great trails in nearby Hurricane and Cedar City. That would make an awesome trip!

Yes, it’s too bad you couldn’t join us. This was a great outing! Maybe we can meet up for a ride when I hope to return next autumn!

Where did you stage at? Did you make a loop or shuttle? I've never ridden any of that, and I was trying to figure out your route, using trail forks.

You will notice on Trailforks that there are two sections of the Prospector trail. We shuttled from the Cottonwood Canyon parking lot which is in the middle of the two Prospector trails. We then headed south on Prospector and then did an entire loop of Church Rocks and then headed further south to connect to the Dino Cliffs trail. We then rode down Dino Cliffs to the parking lot at the southern end of the trail. It helps to have a shuttle vehicle at one end to avoid the out-and-back ride which would make a very big day. You can also do these three trails independently there are parking lots at each segment. Thanks for watching!
