    Fun fact: The Expanse has no fighters, what is supposed to be stored in that hangar bay are Corvette class Frigates (the Tachi/Rocinante) or Morrigan class Destroyers, also for anyone wondering why ships in the Expanse are laid out the way they are (vertical decks like an office building) is because the drives are so strong they produce enough thrust to simulate gravity (so if you’re burning at an acceleration rate of 9.8m/s you will be experiencing 1g or earth gravity inside the ship), this is how all ships have gravity (and stations use spin gravity), there is no grav gens :3

      @NickyLunaLove Před 3 lety +20

      @@LastStandGamers no it’s bcs such a small craft would be practically useless because the missile and PDC’s of the larger ships wouldn’t let them get close enough to be effective, and with that note a missile is basically the closest thing you could get to a fighter in the expanse and considering PDC’s are accurate enough to destroy a missile burning at 20gees it’s safe to say having fighters is a bit of a moot point :D

    • @outerheaven155

      @@LastStandGamers Since the expanse has no inertial dampning tech, Crewed ships have a limit on how fast they can accelerate or for how long before the humans onboard start stroking out. Torpedoes on the otherhand are basically impossible to dodge because their like a colonial viper on steroids, able to use RCS to juke, reorient, and accelerate in ways that would leave a person in a black or red out if their lucky.
      If you don't have a way to stop that missile from reaching you like a PDC or explosive then the second its on its way is the moment you can give up because you cannot outrun or dodge it.
      This is why I like the expanse. Between PDCs, Railguns, and Torpedoes you get this fun little game of Rock, paper, scissors with the weapons.

    If I remember correctly, many of the 'floating' rooms inside The Donnager could be used as bridges as well. And the isolation part as well. The 'lasers' are railguns. The Martians are known for dreaming big so the Donnager class ships are outfitted to carry four of those large railguns, but they do not have a power plant powerful enough to run them. Idea is when you enter battle the main engines are pointed towards the target to decelerate and the railguns flip around and firing between the engines. Two railguns are powerful enough. Four as it's designed for is completely lunatic and overkill.

I have also uncapped the speed of ships and set parameters based on weight and grid size. So now small ships with lots of thrust can go very fast and use hit and run or just run... tactics against the bigger boys. but on a stationary target these larger rails can punch holes at 20km or more. a lot harder to do once the ships are moving though. the ship looks great, and has plenty of role play space in ther. Some stuff to finish up and hook up and all that i spose, also is there any storage for torps and all that? wtvr it looks like a fantastic model to play with if you have a beastly machine to handle it in SE

    The rail-guns in The Expanse are capable of penetrating half of a kilometre of titanium and are as precise as history's best sniper when used properly even though they are generally used in "close" range combat if I recall correctly.
    EDIT: I should also add that in The Expanse ships only have artificial gravity if the main engines are powered up so they could legit just be floating around if they didn't want to be grounded by their magnetic boots if the main engines were down for whatever reason. According to the show, shutting off the main drives (namely the main engine(s)) lowers your ship's signature considerably but not completely.

    • @sierra1513
      @sierra1513 Před 3 lety +1

      The reason railguns are used in close quarters is because they're dumb projectiles, any moving target could easily reposition to avoid the shot

      @clonechoopa31 Před 3 lety

      @@sierra1513 As I've said; "if used properly" but I can also understand why the characters in The Expanse would use this 50BMG for a 12 Guage application. Of course the calibre terminology is merely representative of what is used and how it should have been used, theoretically of course.

    Terribly made ship, not only its basically incomplete, its made for decoration purposes only, very little weapons and armor as well as speed, but it can carry a (not) lot of stuff. Also it has too much unused space and HAS NOT CONNECTED H2 TANKS, this means, this ship was, indeed, built for decorational purposes only. Go make a video about overghart, a giant 177K blocks ship. That was made for practical purposes.
