The fact they gave Waluigi so much personality and even gave him a job in construction and there is no Waluigi game is criminal.
I genuinely think Nintendo has something against Waluigi because he was made by Camelot. Like they refuse to acknowledge him as an official part of the Mario cast, but begrudgingly accept that he is in the universe whenever they have space to fill.
It pains me everytime. But at least they didn't fully thrown him away

Honestly, the absurdity of Waluigi being passed over by Kamek for Wario is actually the strongest piece of evidence to me, as it's exactly as absurd and weird of a backstory as Nintendo would give for a character they don't really respect that much compared to their mainstays.

lets be real here in reality they just dont care about him to give him a backstory. i doubt nintendo would ever plan waluigi to have this lore because thats a lot of thinking involved for someone they supposedly dont care about.
The fact that Foreman Spike is related to the Wah Bros makes him so much more interesting. Makes it more of a family rivalry, since Jumpman is Mario’s father and Spike is Wario’s.

It also makes sense when you remember that Spike himself is also pretty obscure in modern times. It would explain why Waluigi's origins are so obscure and unknown; unlike Wario, who got to go on absurd adventures, Waluigi remained stuck in a construction family with no wide fame or recognition. This also explains Waluigi's affinity for plants and technological gadgets, because construction involves plenty of landscaping and machinery.

Honestly, Waluigi being Spike's son would explain A LOT of things about him. Such as why Waluigi's origins are so obscure: unlike the other main cast who have histories of adventure and action, Waluigi just grew up in a normal construction and demolition family. Which is probably _super_ normal because of how much the Mushroom Kingdom needs to be rebuilt after each of Bowser's attacks. So there really isn't much past to be uncovered for Waluigi in the first place - it's pretty plain.
It also explains why Waluigi has an affinity for both _plants,_ such as Piranha Plants and Wall-Luigi (Mario Strikers Charged) and _technological gear_ such as his frequent use of Bob-ombs, his "Waluigiscopes" from the Olympics and his four-armed backpack (Mario Sports Mix). Construction and demolition have a lot to do with land management, agriculture and machinery, so it makes sense for Waluigi to have skills in those areas if he grew up in a construction-based environment.

The connections get even crazier when you get into it. One is the fact that Waluigi is Luigi's rival who is dressed in purple, which is interesting because in Wrecking Crew, Luigi was dressed in purple as well. Another connection is that in Mario Super Sluggers, Waluigi had a Star Skill called the Liar Ball, where he throws an eggplant with the baseball to trick the opponents. Wario has a similar Star Skill, but uses garlic instead, suggesting that eggplants are Waluigi's favorite food. This is interesting when considering the fact that the eggplant men were enemies in Wrecking Crew.
An easier answer to why Waluigi wasn’t picked up by Kamek in Yoshi DS is that he wasn’t born yet. Wario is specified to be older and while the Mario Bros are cannonicly twins (from the intro to the original Yoshi’s Island) nothing about Wario and Waluigi say they were ever twins

when u think of it like this, foreman spike must have felt so annoyed by mario's resemblance to his missing first child that he projected all of those grief he felt to abusing him, and when mario quits the construction job, his abusive tendency in projecting those grief must have changed target to waluigi, which made the waluigi that we know of today.
It could be that they are half siblings. Walugi is the older brother so when they were all taken as babies he wasn't because he was at that point a toddler. And the reason Wario doesn't acknowledge they are brothers is because he doesn't know or want to admit while Walugi does. Also possibly why they have completely different interests.

Honestly, this would be a very sweet story, despite being separated as babies they both ended up meeting and forming a practically brotherly bond anyway. Interesting change of air from the shady and disturbing theories that MatPat usually does.😊
The ending to this one is kinda sweet. Even though they were separated at birth, they were still able to find each other and become close in the end.

In regards to the blue circles around the eye thing, my mom, myself, and all but one sibling all have pronounced bags under our eyes that make us look permanently tired, regardless of how much sleep we've actually gotten. So it's entirely possible that may be a generic trait.

I just thought of a strange theory: What if Foreman Spike turns Wario in the movie and is set up to be the main antagonist for the sequel?

a friend of mine had a really similar idea actually, where in the second mario movie foreman spike would end up in the mushroom kingdom and get involved in whatever big plot happens, and he eventually starts to become increasingly annoyed at mario, then starts thinking he needs to change himself to be more like mario if he wants to beat his old nuisance. and then either the movie or just that little plot ends with spike - now wario - fighting mario
My theory:
In many mario and Yoshi games they find a thing or have a thing that makes a wish come true.
My theory is that Wario found a wish fulfilling item and made a wish.
In the comics baby Wario and naby Mario didn't get alonge so Wario wished a brother like luigi. Luigi stayed with Mario and Wario wanted his own luigi in his life. Creating Waluigi.
What makes this theory possible is this little fact:
If waluigi is wished then he should not have the same childhood... have you ever seen Baby Waluigi in a mario game?
Here is another thing to possibly look at for Wario and Waluigi being brothers but seemingly different origins. They very well could be half brothers by sharing a dad, but not a mom, thus they had been separated before they were even born and gives Wario even more reason to not know about Waluigi being his brother.
I do remember some old game article that said Waluigi and Wario are bastards who had different mothers.

If you've ever played the games, you'll know that every character has their own logo on their signature vehicle.
But! You can *make* your own logo as well. I remember being younger and always making my own scribble my logo. This is also the case in the video, that 'German Flag' means nothing, it's probably drawn on by whoever provided the content.

Honestly I wouldn’t actually be surprised if Foreman Spike was in fact Wario and Waluigi’s father along even before this theory even happened. Honestly we need a game where instead of Mario being the main character, it’s his dad going against Spike which is interesting imagine a Dad vs Dad like Mario game.

No joke, if you were to think about it like this, Wario and Waluigi have a stronger bond than Mario and Luigi, cause Mario and Luigi got raised with it, but Wario and Waluigi just have a bond so strong that even if they don't know it themselfs, they will always be bound together by the brotherly love they hold within
That certainly is a sad yet beautiful story. Two brothers, one of taken away while the other stayed with his father. One grew up to continue his father’s legacy, while the other wants to farm and grind money. Two have never seen each other for many years, have changed their appearance a lot, and yet they have a connection. One that sparks joy and happiness to both, but they sadly don’t know the true reason why: their brotherly bond that was hidden inside their minds for many decades has opened again despite not knowing each other.
I love how MatPat and the team have basically traveled back to the early days of game theory with their recent theories

Finally I can say that I've seen a game theory cover a Mario mystery I actually wondered as a kid. Mario Kart for the GameCube was my favorite game, and I usually played Wario and Waluigi for their bob omb items.
Back in 1st grade I had asked my friend who he thought Waluigi was, because we loved playing Mario kart. He thought Waluigi and Wario were cousins, paraphrasing, because they had to be related, but they have to change it up. I liked that answer and honestly I kinda stuck with that interpretation of it. Watching this video was really cool.

Even if this is not confirmed or true. This is canon in my heart. A strong brotherly love. Transcending the familial relationship itself.
An additional detail that links the two of them together is the fact that Waluigi’s construction “Kart” has the German flag on the side of it. This could mean they’re both from a German family, which could also explain why Wario speaks German and has Germanic theme music at some points.

That's a custom emblem, it's not on the kart itself. In Mario Kart DS you could make your own emblem out of pixel art and the game theorist team probably added that in there as an easter egg, the symbol would normally be his normal upside down L emblem

I love how in this theory you say that Wario doesn't know that Waluigi's his brother, yet in the beginning cite a source where Wario refers to Waluigi as his brother.

Seeing as Wario and Mario played together during childhood at similar ages, and Mario being around 24, Foreman Spike could very well be Wario and Waluigi's father provided he's in his late-40's.
Wario growing up seperately from Waluigi would probably explain the distinct absence of Waluigi in the Warioware series
Actually, Wario's voice actor in the Mario Party games, the one that sounds German, is because the voice actor *is* German and was made to say the phrase "Doh, I missed" in English, even tho he doesn't speak English. I learned this from a bunch of CZcamsrs who play Mario Party games like crazy and Wario is the one dude's fav character, and that was a little bit of trivia he knew about Wario. Wario can be German, but he is actually speaking in English in that one particular phrase.

Whether *Wario and Waluigi* are Brothers separated at Birth or not, the clear reason the two became a Duo at all is because of _how much they have in common._ They not only have what others would call 'deformities' in their facial structure, they share _similar lonesome backstories_ and have _a passion for making money_ by *any means necessary* - even if it means playing dirty and looking like *'the bad guy'!*
As to whether *Foreman Spike* is the _biological Father_ of Waluigi, I think that might be why Nintendo have kept the character's *Modern 3D Model* a Secret until the movie's Release.
One thing we've _never seen_ with the 2D Sprites of Spike if what his Eyes look like under those Sunglasses. If we get to see that there are *Cyan rings around the man's Eyes,* even if we never got to see _blue-grey pupils_ further in, this would officially confirm *Foreman Spike's* biological status as the *Canonical Father of Waluigi* - and most likely, that Wario is *his estranged Son,* taken from him and never being seen again...
Cant wait to see what he looks like in the movie !

I always canonically believe that Waluigi was related to foreman spike while worry. I was kind of off doing his own thing, but that one of his friends from the WarioWare could be secretly Waluigi’s brother.
The Waluigi family also consists of the water type diglett, Wiglett and Wugtrio
I've always thought how it's strange how he isn't in the 2d Mario games or how he isn't in the Wario spin-off games. Give him some more love
So Wario is Waluigi's long lost brother. Maybe they reconnect during these tournaments or some other event, and becuse of their familial rivalry with the Mario brothers, they took on altering ego versions of Mario and Luigi, meaning their real names may not be Wario and Waluigi.
Also, you should do a break down on Mario and Luigi's extended family. They seem to take on many passing references from the animated/live action cartoons from the 80s and 90s. The movie does make clear that their father is the original Mario (unless it's the Jumpman character in the same movie named Giuseppi, who is also voiced by Charles Martinet). Also, it is mentioned on the Mario Wiki that one of the grandfathers of Mario and Luigi was a boxer, so perhaps that boxer mario was instead their grandfather, and maybe the same character we see in Punch Out (unless that's just Mario or his father Giuseppi, since their younger selves all look alike). It's just really nice seeing Nintendo and Illumination attenpting to make the Mario universe all connect. It's very tantalizing for any theorist.
My headcannon is they are brothers, but Walugi takes more after their dad and Wario takes more after their mom

Honestly this is probably the best theory you've made this year. All of it seems to fall right into place
I imagine that Camelot had some sort of miscommunication and wanted to implement Spike. But maybe felt like him and Wario didn’t make sense considering everyone else had mirror counterparts. That would explain why he has a very similar color scheme, shares descriptions, and has a construction vehicle.

Actually, Waluigi in an issue of Nintendo Power is actually a paid actor named, "Jimmy P." Who legally changed his name to Waluigi.
Interestingly, Jimmy P. is the name of a character in WarioWare: Smooth Moves who seems to be a doppelganger if not a copycat of Jimmy T. except he has tan skin, a yellow afro and interestingly enough, a pink nose
that was photoshopped and has been going around for years
That would explain why waluigi kinda just shows up out of nowhere. Wario maybe got reunited with waluigi when looking for a doubles partner

Whether or not Wario and Waluigi are brothers is still unknown, but there is a piece of evidence in Super Mario RPG that proves that Wario is also related to Spike in some way. In Booster's tower, there's a room with pictures of Booster's family line and shows that he's related to both Foreman Spike and Wario.

I think they probably met when wario was hiring a contractor to build his wario ware tower, they both realized how utterly amazing the other was in their cruelty and the rest is history
On a side note to kinda help prove that It is possibly genetic in component to the ears. Both me and my uncle my dad side both happen to have pointed ears and we are in fact the only 2 in our family that would be living or within the past 2-3 generations that have it. his own children don't and dad doesn't just me and him with slightly different degrees of how much. Funny fact it was the first thing he pointed out when I was born and he was ecstatic that someone else shared that trait with him.
