Is it just me or does anyone else find an uncanny coincidence that starts with Matthew playing Alec? In the series, Alec is in a relationship with Magnus(Bane). Matthew is Alexandra Daddario's brother and Alex played Annabeth Chase whose nephew/cousin is named Magnus(Chase) as well?
Sorry if that was weird but hey... There's a Percy Jackson and Mortal Instruments crossover. (I'm a big fan of both series, as you can probably tell.)

Yes I love tid and I want be so put off as I am with tmi tv show because I loved jace and Clary from the film so much its gonna take some time getting used to the new actors =( so if they do tid at least I want have to get used to different actors plus the story is fantastic I love will tessa jem all of them it deserves being put on TV as much as the Mortal Instruments does

Dom is absolutely gorgeous. So much better than movie Jace. So excited to see what he brings to the table, but I have no doubt that he'll be outstanding.
i read the books and the tv show is 100000 of times better than the movie, the characters don't look at all, and they didn't have time to explain anything so is really messy.
+Blanca Sánchez in my opinion the movie is way better than the series the character are better developed however I do like Isabelle in the show but I don't not like clary or Jace in the show because jace doesn't act like book Jace and clary tried too hard in my opinion...considering I've been in this fandom for quite a while I got upset that there was not a second movie and that the tv show so far hasn't done the the books justice...the movie isn't perfect but I prefer it to the to show

The actor Jamie Campbell is British from the The Mortal Instruments City Of Bones movie and the Actor who plays Jace in the TV show Shadowhunters is British too.

From what i heard Shadowhunters does deviate quite a bit but i believe they did that on purpose do that book readers could be surprised. Also, it is on based upon, its not the books followed word for word.
I get why loyal book fans might be upset if they change characters too much or kill off someone they feel shouldn't have been. But they have to remember that they were producing a TV show that has some restrictions and also have to keep things moving rapidly to keep the viewers interest and fit into the episode timeframe. I've seen the movie and i didn't like it (though i hear it was closer to the actual books).
As I've never read the books I can't say how they compare but I loved the show. in the top 3 favourite shows of all time for me and Malec are my all time favourite fictional couple.
Wish we had gotten more like a full series 4 and 5 but, we are where we are and at least the best couple ended up with their happy ending!!
Finally some neutral comment when everyone’s saying “the series didn’t followed the books”...if it had followed the books there would be no surprises or more thrilling experience

Just a couple of notes, Clary is 16, not 18, and it's 'All the STORIES are true' not 'All the legends are true'. But anyway I'm super excited for this, as it looks like it's going to be better and more accurate than that one film was 😛. I really really really can't wait for Malec 💖
They changed it for the series otherwise she would be way too young and so the series doesn't become some weird, awkward children TV series.
They change the age so they could be attractive for a bigger audience. Also the movie has the rights for "All the stories are true" so they had to change it.

LOLOL I love how people commenting are all "WE WANT THE BOOKS!!!!1! STAY TRUE TO THE BOOKS!" ok...then read the books. if you're looking for a book to screen translation then you're being unreasonable and ungrateful for the second chance we've been given. Why is it SO bad that the show is gonna put a twist on things? yeah, it's not word for word the same but they touch on things directly from the books and hit important points in different ways. it keeps things exciting and interesting.
the cast is great, they stay a lot more true to their characters from the books than in the movies, which is super important. they're not OOC and the actors portraying them are taking great care to bring them to life for us. if you don't like the show, don't watch it. such a simple solution. gosh.

All I'm asking is for someone to keep the storyline of the books - is that too much to ask? The books were near perfect, they don't really need to change it! :( Fingers crossed though that they have done it justice.
Change isn't bad, I think it's good to develop more connections and places that the books didn't get to explore. It's refreshing and if they followed the books to every single detail...don't you think that's kind of boring? It would be really really satisfying, but as long as they don't stray too far from what you could imagine happening in the books, I'm okay with that.

When is the movie coming out
I'm on a Comic Con Marathon [started with The Originals] now I'm here. I watched some episodes of Shadowhunters, but i have that feeling that Katherine and Emeraude are not really close in real Life? Is it true? Just wondering, cause they seem pretty distanced to me.
Couldn't they have gotten a real redhead.

Kat is a real redhead, but she was blonde for the second movie of the Maze Runner, so she had to re-dye her hair.
Honestly I think the show is goina be grate and all but I like the movie better. I mean its just that in my opinion the characters had more chemistry and fit the part. Like in the movie Jace was always sassy and how Clary was kind of clumsy but stubborn too. It just doesn't fit with the new characters
