I've been a knitter for many years, but never picked up crochet. I just wanted you to know that seeing this pattern on facebook inspired an obsessive three hour crochet youtube tutorial binge so that I could finally make these. I've broken into crochet because of you, and the bootie sole I've made with your help is much more passable than I thought I was capable of! Thank you for the work you put into this.
I'm not even sure how many times I can say thank you for this video. Its super easy to follow. Finally a sole pattern I can memorize. :)
I’m a fairly accomplished knitter; and I toil away with crochet, each time I undertake booties it takes me multiple times to get something viable. I prefer a sole that mimics the foot shape. The other comments are perfect, you are a great teacher, thank you! I’m subscribing
I'm sure you'll get all kinds of criticism for moving too quickly...but I so appreciate not having to watch you make every stitch! Thank you for your tutorial...soles are my nemesis...this is a big help.
Thank you for this pattern.I have tried others sole patterns and they where so hard to follow. You have made it much easer to do. I have made two now.
Again thank you.
I.LOVE.YOU! I learned to knit and crochet when I was 7 or 8 and picked knitting back up 4 years ago but I CANNOT for the life of me crochet - I can't comprehend the patterns. I know what it's saying I just can't DO it - but now! NOW I think I can master these baby sandals that I've been wanting to give as gifts! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
After 6 years but the video is still helping..thankq..
Thank you very much bethany for the flip flop tutorials.. they turned out beautifully! your video's are so easy to follow.

JOYCE1990XOXO where can I get a pattern of shoes 10 months old.
Thanks .
Thankyou 😊
This is the simplest video for a sole I've seen. I was able to follow it without pulling out one stitch. That says a lot! I will use this as my base sole for all my footwear projects. Thank you for the video.
I don't know its its the calmness in you're voice but you made it so simple for me...thank you for sharing...
I love this pattern, it is so easy and they have always come out the same size.
Thank you for showing and explaining exactly where to place the stitch marker.
Thank you so much! I finally made a pair of matching booties after many many tries. Video was awesome. Love both the verbal and written directions in the video, Thanks again.
I didnt have a 3.75mm (F) hook so i used a 3.5mm (4/E) hook and i followed the pattern for 3-6 month and it made a newborn size perfectly i used a 4 ply yarn too and so far its perfect thankyou for sharing :)
You're the only person that makes the baby soles like I do. They fit very well, since newborns feet typically are not chubby yet, so the little feet are not swimming in traditional size booties or shoes.
i must be a fast study. all these beginners say you are too fast, but I paused to catch up.. i made a full sandal using your two videos as my FIRST EVER crochet project. i made a baby doll "blanket" to learn the stitches and then made these!
I'm expecting my first great granddaughter in September and wanted to make something different. I love this pattern. Its a foundation for any shoe or bootie I want to make.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!
these tutorials are short, to the point, and sooo easy to follow
this is the best technique I've ever seen I'll definitely be following you going forward.
Thank you so much Bethany for this tutorial. It was really simple and converting it to fit my daughters stinky feet (age 4) was really simple. You have found yourself a subscriber.
This is one of the easiest soles to make and it really looks like the bottom of a baby's foot. I had trouble with the count at first because I was missing the sc crochet before each 2 sc count in the 3 count, and also not adding the sc crochet before each of the 5 count sc. After I watched your video again and followed the actual count I realized my error. It is so easy to follow now. Plan on using this sole for all bootie projects. Thanks.
Your tutorial is the only one for the sole I understand. Thank you!!!!
Thank you. One of the best tutorials! ❤
thank you for the link. having instructions both ways helps connect it together.

Hello Bethany my name is Darlene and I found your booties and you are amazing to follow thank you for sharing your amazing crochet talents again thank you now i will try to make a pair of them for my great grandson
Good Afternoon Bethany,
I am not sure what size sole to make for my new born. I made a pair of booties for her and she cannot fit them. Her feet are to small for them.
Please help
Thank you for an easy pattern... Had trouble at first with the count but then realized that I was doing the increase wrong instead of repeating what was in the little *sc in next sc 2 in next * repeat 5 times. I was doing sc in next 2 5 times so my count was off.. thank you again
This is by far one of the better soles on the web for crochet patterns for baby slipper soles. I make up a bunch of these, in various colors, whenever I have a few spare moments and store them up. You can use them as contrasting colors to the rest of the bootie even; very handy if one has a lot of scraps of unused wool in various colors too, and especially good if one is making baby boy booties. :)
this is so beatuful your explanation it's clear ans perfect thank you for this great vidio
This tutorial worked well for me ... thank you 😍😍😍😍
Hi bethany, first thank you for the adorable boat shoes tut! I would like to know , why when I download the written pattern it has a huge black block in the middle of ever page of the pdf? I've downloaded it in every electrical gadget I own and still get the same result . Tablet, phone, laptop and desktop pc. I can only view parts of the pattern. I prefer the written to video. Is it me or is it a huge water mark for copy right protection?
thanks for the pattern and lesson, you really need both to make a good product. Thank you!
Trying my hand at this simple y tennie shoe fort my first great grand baby in camo. Turning out adorable..th you so much
Hi !! I was wondering if i could use a thinner yarn for the sole, & if i could what would be the adjustments for it ?
Hi.so easy to follow Thankyou , question? To make bigger sole do I just chain more then 11 and do the same pattern just add more of the same steps
Thanks for the great tutorial!! 💚😊💚😊
Thank you so much for the pattern. You are awesome and now I am on my way to making some booties. I just liked and subscribed and will hit up the blog in a few.
Excellent video. Very easy to follow. Thank you.
Thank you for the free tutorial video. I’m going to work on t
HI, THANKS........ I TRIED THIS.... YOU MADE IT EASY....... THANK YOU AGAIN
Thank you! Great tutorial:)
Hello ! I'm just curious what size hook this is ? I can't find the description box through my phone. Ty !
Thank you for the free video tutorials. I’m made it Thank you
Thank for this video it is so helpful
Hi, Bethany! Thank you for amazing tutorial. I have little question: which size yarn you have used in this video? I mean gr/m (100gr/200m or other)? I will wait for an answer:)
thanks for this video and written pattern!!
Hi, thank you for the instruction videos.
I'm new to crocheting. I use a 2mm hook and follow this video to make a sole, but it turns out to be too small. Could you help me a little bit? With a 2mm hook then how many chains I have to make at first? Or can I just add more round and increase the number of stitches? Thank you.
Thank you!! I could NEVER get this pattern right!! xoxoxo
When you work off your initial chain, are you doing stitches through the back loop only? Do you switch and work through both loops on the second round?
do you have a video for other sizes? if so that'd be great. I want to try to make these for my nieces.
Hermosos. .felicidades. un abrazo bendiciones. .
ThanksYour instructions was clear and easy to make
In the beginning of round 3 for the 3-6 months, this part of the pattern .*Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st* work 3 times. Does it mean I single crochet in next stitch, two sc in next stitch, and follow the pattern for the next 3 stitches? Please explain.
Hi Bethany I think I'm doing something wrong. When I made my left sole and started to crochet the rest of the shoe it look like the sole was backwards I mean the sole looked different from the right sole I need help!!! Please!!!!
Luvly, but just wondering the size of the crotchet u r using? Thank u!
Thanks for the lessons
💓 🌹
Thanku very much. ur videos are so good and easy to teach 👌
Thank you for this video. You are awesome and easy to understand . please keep it up.
Thank you so much!!!!
bethany dearden hi I am a beginner as well. When I get better I'll start buying your patterns cause they're great! For the 6-9 month, you mentioned with the asterisk (*) that I should repeat 3 times and another one to repeat 5 times. Can I know if I am doing the one within the asterisk once then adding an extra five times so that would count as doing the asterisk instruction 6 times in total?
I love the way you video! You are concise and easy to follow!!! I have subscribed and am checking out blog next!
Hi Bethany! I was wondering how many chains I would use for 0-3 months, 6-9 months, and 9-12 months. Thank you!
is it different for left vs right? I tried making the boat shoes but they both came out looking like only one side....
What size hook did you use??
hi bethany, do i follow the same number of stitches if i will use a mercerised cotton yarn?
What is the pattern to make the opposite shoe? Is it the same or do you just flip the sole over? I love this pattern by the war!
