I hadn’t cleaned my Dyson in awhile and needed a refresher. Wow! This went above and beyond. I found a nasty clog thanks to you. I’m waiting for the filters to dry right now. I bet it will work like new. You’ve saved people thousands of dollars by making this video! Dysons are fab but they do require maintenance.
Here's an interesting fact about vacuum, some of the earliest home vacuum cleaners needed two people to operate them - one to vacuum and the other to push or pull the heavy machinery. 😂

Thank you very much for this tutorial. My vacuum cleaner had lost it’s suction and having followed this video I found a pencil stuck at the base of the hose🙄. I was so close to buying another Dyson, thank you for saving me hundreds of pounds. The one issue I had was I could not release the hose no matter how much I pulled it and I also pressed the red release button. Anyway a big thank you, I will continue to use this tutorial 😀

Thanks for a great and detailed video and it has made it so easy to clean the machine now as my cleaning lady only empties the bin (sometimes) 😊 Edit I did the cleaning of the machine as you described and went over the same piece of the floor as I did this morning and got another full tub of rubbish and dust as the first time I did it so thanks again!! The only thing is the roller on my Australian model does not have those grooves for removing hair on the roller but that is a minor detail really.

Very impressive. However, you need to occasionally take apart the cyclone itself - the part you said cannot get wet. It can as long as it’s taken apart, and the separate prices are allowed to dry. There are a few videos on CZcams about how to do this, how to clean, and how to reassemble. I am always surprised when people take the cyclone part because there is always a lot of hidden dirt inside of it - dirt that clogs the cyclone internally and eventually makes the machine smell horrible. Vacuum stores that service Dyson’s do this in addition to everything you did. No, you cannot get the cyclone wet when it’s assembled, because it won’t fully dry internally and it will create mud that clogs the cylinders. If you made a video like this one, it would be the highest quality and most watched video on how to disassemble and clean the cyclone itself. Dyson would rather people take it and pay to have this done because it’s so messy, but it is easy to do yourself and will fully restore it.

this was a fab dyi tutorial. since I super cleaned and conditioned my Dyson, there is a horrible vibration noise when vacuuming. the suction is great. what did I miss? are there special screws that can be replaced on the plate?

I have a similaur Dyson but it's not the same it's a bit smaller and there is no way to get the roller out so I spend over an hour picking the fluff and crap from the sides of the roller with a tini knife. Absolute pain in the neck, any ideas?
Put the wet stuff over a dehumidifier. Way quicker. If you have one of course.
After rinsing my filter in the ball, it’s still blackish/ some white from the flat side. The outer part is white. I wonder if it’s still dirty? Stupid question. Wasn’t sure if that’s normal.

my dyson started to make a loud noise after reassembling! I can’t figure out what I did wrong!
Unfortunately the suction is still on good on my dyson. It doesn't suck from the bottom as much as it used to. The hose and everything else was ok
The back of the ball is where I found my clog. Having kids means mysterious items are vacuumed...
Oh, don’t ask me how many Lego pieces my vacuum eats up ever time I vacuum. 😂

This is why I hate my Dyson. You get filthy trying to clean the damn thing. Give my bags I can't just throw out any day. I am getting rid of mine.
Unfortunately my wife has bought two for her business and they are such flimsy pieces of crap we've had to send them in a few times, they felt so bad they actually gave us a free one which way is the big animal and it's so heavy for its own self it's killing itself we have to send it in for repairs. Sad to say we paid a lot of money for these Vacuums in thank goodness for their warranty or we would be screwed

The filter is made of paper. DO NOT wash it like she did. It needs to be replaced.
