Still really sad about the removal of the first gadget. Also, for them to nerf the gadget that replaced his ability to teleport really sucks
I know a lot of people who are not sad about that : )
Eve and fang break the game for 2 months and they only truly nerf them recently but surge becomes viable and they emergency nerf him
So true surge was overpowered and easy to play before rework
But now I think its the worst brawler for my opiniion

@@stevenvanes2428 I want to help people out! It all started when I saw people in the comments asking for a song in the video, so I started posting music timestamps. But slowly, I started doing more, like tips, highlights, kills on teamers, and for every challenge guide/update sneak peek I'll summarise all the information too!
I wish this change never happened to Surge but at the same time I do. He is so annoying to play against but so fun to play with now
He was super annoying to play against before the change… Click the green button and click auto-attack 3 times and you are dead. That old gadget was too op.

Well before he was more annoying and even not totally good in the meta
Now he is more enjoyable and of course, more viable in meta

I have been using both gadgets and I can say that from my experience the second gadget is better in sd and in close range 3v3 maps like sneaky fields. Since in sd it can be really useful against teamers and bush campers and in 3v3 modes to cycle your super faster.
Old surge was kind of a mess tbh. You had so many cool concepts like levelling up, shots that split in 2, a super that dodges and then counters, an assassin who can burst you down but has slow reload, and to top it off middling range.
Yeah teleport made it all work somehow but in turn it overshadowed half of these cool gimmicks
Yeah I definitely feel they spent a lot of time designing surge, but couldn’t come up with good gadgets for him.
surge is hard to balance, is hard to make him work without gadgets or star powers
0:48 Cryingman you right. Because if you already upgraded to the max level, this gadget will be useless. But the 2nd gadget is better (especially on Edgar & Frank 2nd gadget)
But Edgar only deals like 800 per hit so when you will use your gadget, you will take 80% of 800 but Edgar hits fast so you won't even notice the effect of the gadget ( english isn't my first language so if I made any mistake pls correct me)

I think you should use this gadget when you receive a lot amount of damage in one hit
2nd gadget hundree percent not better since like return to sender there are a lot of brawlers doing multiple projectiles making the reduction useless this can help in some specific 1v1 situations only and surge is gonna be hard to play without first gadget
@@rishigameryt607 I think that kinda balances that since edgar was hard countered by surge but now it will take some skill to kill edgar

I think the rework is acctually more of a buff.
Surge may not get to you whenever he wants but as long as he has super he can jump on you more than three times and can utilize his knockback much more.
He's easier to use with the super buff and to make his super easy to charge (or to make Surge usefull without super) there's the first gadget.
I think it's a close call between the two gadgets. The first one might be better overall but second one can be a life saver and a Uno reverse card in some interactions if used correctly. But maybe 2nd is betrer for Showdown while first for 3v3 i guess.
To be honest unlike Brock or P’s “rework” this one actually does feel like one. He feels more adaptable and less reliant on his gadget for playing. Of course his first gadget was great but now he feels like a viable brawler in all modes instead of knockout and showdown alone.
The interaction with Frank when using the second gadget is by far my favourite in the game, instantly level 3 😂
The first gadget was better, until they nerfed it to one upgrade…. I feel like the 2nd gadget is good if you know ur opponents brawlers such as in power league
would you really play surge on a sniper map with no way to upgrade except for serve ice cold? If the shield countered the attack it would be much better, i saw Nanis killing Beas and Pipers with hers, you know, brawlers that usually OUTRANGE you so more ammo is pointless except for Brock shooting you at pointblank range when you`re out of ammo
I personally like the first gadget more for showdown because you can just instantly use it and rush to the closest box easily.
Surge is waaay too op. I do miss his old gadget tho 😢
I think that in the 2nd gadget the shield itself is good but getting 3 ammo is absurd! I think if they nerf him ever then they should make it give only 2 ammo. Surge is so good after the update. Love it💕 amazing video cryingman

Yeah 1st gadget is better in 3v3 modes, because when you die you lose all yours levels (without sp). And In showdown you will mostly use it twice.
still, without that gadget you never get going fast enough without every enemy on the map taking advantage of you being currently the worst brawler (untill you levelled up). The second gadget is outright garbage and only good to defend against a piper shot after you just emptied your magazine on another brawler wich happens once in a blue moon
they got rid of the tp gadget because it was hard to think of a second gadget to a balance it out so they got rid of it and added a whole set of gadgets depending n the issues that players have dealt with during game play to make it easier i believe the point of gagdets is to balance out a brawlers weak point and so as not to be too op they made it only usable 3 times per match soz its so long :)

For me i would say that if this 2nd needs buff like shield 5 seconds and if he take damage shield doesn’t go of only after 5 seconds and protect 80 percent

Ye i think 2nd gadget is more effective against melee duels and that often happen in solo
I tried the second gaget first time and I lost like 30 trophies in a row. But after some practice it became the best 1v1 gadget for me lol
Surge used to be very dangerous as you always had to watch out for him and his ability to disengage/engage was basically the only thing preventing mortis's and edgars from rushing him and now he has no defense against em. RIP surge

Hi ! I was wondering if i should buy this new brawl pass or wait 2 mounths for the next pass. I don't really like the design of Janet and I don't know if I should wait such a long time or buy it now even if I don't like the brawler that much.
I guess 1st gadget is good in 3v3, to max out faster. In showdown will be 2nd. If somebody want kill you use it

Honestly i stopped playing first gadget when the fixed the bug where you spawn with stage 1 if you die while using that gadget.
I like the second one more verse the one shot brawlers because its funny to tank a 3k bea shot lel

1st gadget is manily for long rangers or if you getting out ranged

The second gadget is now also useful because of you need three attacks instead of two som you cant just chain your super like crazy but with that gadget when you run out of ammo you just click the green button

I think that second surge gadget is better and here is a tip when you destroy a box and have no ammo and somebody attacked you you can use it so you get all your ammo again

idk why everyone is sad about the removal of the first gadget ... the rework of surge made him stronger cause he now can aim his super and this itself is something very op because before the rework i just save my super for close range brawler to rush into me with his super but now it can be used for more situation like op sneaky attack that followed with normal attacks ... chasing brawler and since you can aim it now you can spam super then attacks then second gadget to recharge your ammos when the opponent fights back and then super again attacks again and you have super recharged again .
i see that surged rework is great and people just overreacted about first gadget removal
they are salty that they can't do the no skill to the thrower
i like the second gadget more cause its a very clutch gadget but because i only have the first gadget, ill settle with that for now
Tbh both gadgets are good. If you use Surge on a open map where there are lots of long range brawlers, go with the first gadget, if you use him in a closed map where short range brawlers thrive, go with the second gadget.

These gadgets are super strong but for me the teleportation gadget IS THE BESTTTTT❤️
My opinion is that the second gadget is better, because you get to tank some damage while getting your ammos back. Personally, I still love the og gadget since it is pretty op and you can kill people behind the wall, but since the gadget is removed, I think the second is the better one.
There's also no reason for the first gadget to be nerfed.

I use that 2 nd gadget in knockout and Oh my god I faced the same lv 10 surge but with sheild gear and i was on damage gear I used that gadget and boom i saved my life and kill that surge

I think the reason surge gadget being removed is that shelly also has a worse version(she is also bad too) and to make the game more diverse, they keep the shelly's gadget and remove the surge's one. The reason for shelly not being reworked is that they hates her and she is free

i was on a 600 trophy match playing with my surge, then a surge jumped on me, but i was using 2nd gadget and i had super, so i jumped so i didnt get damage from his super then i attacked 2 times and used shield to get ammo back and thats how i killed a 7 cubes surge with energy drink
I like this surge cuz not only I got past on the wall plus it have damage
and honestly old surge was better the feeling of warping onto someone and destroying them was amazing

When the 1st gadget was good i still preferred 2nd gadget its like colts gadget but way better
I was playing Edgar, and I came back with a revenge! When I see a surge with no super, I jump them since they can't escape anymore (teleport). It just feels so good getting rid of Surge with Edgars...

People are underestimating the power of having ammo as surge. I think energy shield was better than power surge in ssd even when power surge upgraded 2 levels. The "shield" part is more or less just keeping surge alive to use his extra 4800 damage.
surge teleport gadget was more broken, b4 every surge would counter me when i played edgar cause of that stupid gadget and i hated it but now i counter every surge even if they use shield gadget

I think Surge is the best brawler at the moment. His gadgets are good, his starpowers are decent, his reload speed is pretty fast and his ability to jump walls make him very overpowered. He is good in showdown and 3v3. He can also counter many brawlers as well, so I think Surge is one of the best brawlers in the game. This is just my opinion
Me and my clanmate got rekt in a clan wars power match because of a asshole surge while our team didn´t had a sniper but a deadweight random feeding the surge. asshole ran away with ten gems while we couldn´t get a spike out of a wall near spawn
