Why not just loosen the fan drive jack shaft to give you enough slack to put the belt on the proper way? It’s really not that hard. That how you’d have to replace the lower fan drive belt if it was defective. That way you don’t run the risk of damaging either the new water pump/alternator belt or the lower fan drive belt.
