    About Austin, Texas:
    🟢 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin,...
"Austin is the capital city of the U.S. state of Texas, as well as the seat and largest city of Travis County, with portions extending into Hays and Williamson counties. Incorporated on December 27, 1839, it is the 11th-most populous city in the United States, the fourth-most-populous city in Texas, and the second-most-populous state capital city (after Phoenix, Arizona). It has been one of the fastest growing large cities in the United States since 2010. Austin is the southernmost state capital in the contiguous United States and is considered a "Beta −" global city as categorized by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network."
"As of the U.S. Census Bureau's July 1, 2019 estimate, Austin had a population of 978,908, up from 790,491 at the 2010 census. The city is the cultural and economic center of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan statistical area, which had an estimated population of 2,295,303 as of July 1, 2020, roughly 84% increase from the year 2000. Located in Central Texas within the greater Texas Hill Country, it is home to numerous lakes, rivers, and waterways, including Lady Bird Lake and Lake Travis on the Colorado River, Barton Springs, McKinney Falls, and Lake Walter E. Long."
"Residents of Austin are known as Austinites. They include a diverse mix of government employees, college students, musicians, high-tech workers, digital marketers, and blue-collar workers. The city's official slogan promotes Austin as "The Live Music Capital of the World", a reference to the city's many musicians and live music venues, as well as the long-running PBS TV concert series Austin City Limits. The city also adopted "Silicon Hills" as a nickname in the 1990s due to a rapid influx of technology and development companies. In recent years, some Austinites have adopted the unofficial slogan "Keep Austin Weird", which refers to the desire to protect small, unique, and local businesses from being overrun by large corporations. Since the late 19th century, Austin has also been known as the "City of the Violet Crown", because of the colorful glow of light across the hills just after sunset."
"Austin, the southernmost state capital of the contiguous 48 states, is located in Central Texas on the Colorado River. Austin is 146 miles northwest of Houston, 182 miles south of Dallas and 74 miles northeast of San Antonio.
In 2010, the city occupied a total area of 305.1 square miles. Approximately 7.2 square miles of this area is water. Austin is situated at the foot of the Balcones Escarpment, on the Colorado River, with three artificial lakes within the city limits: Lady Bird Lake (formerly known as Town Lake), Lake Austin (both created by dams along the Colorado River), and Lake Walter E. Long that is partly used for cooling water for the Decker Power Plant. Mansfield Dam and the foot of Lake Travis are located within the city's limits. Lady Bird Lake, Lake Austin, and Lake Travis are each on the Colorado River."

Thanks for the videos! Can you share findings on what the schools are like in these more affordable areas. And how realistic would it be to live in NE of Austin areas you mentioned, commute to a magnet school in one of the other top districts in the Austin area?

I watched this video and the one from December 17 2021 and I noticed that both videos mainly discussed the affordable suburbs of Austin. Do you think you could do a video about which neighborhoods *within* the city of Austin are (relatively!) affordable?

I recommend strongly that you pay attention to this list because one day soon these will not be as much of a secret as they are now. Every city he suggest is absolutely booming.

Hello. My husband and I , along with out 1 year old, will be moving to Travis County in Austin in 2023. Can you comment on the weather. You hear random things like tornados, freezing temperatures, pipes bursting, no electricity for weeks…if this is true how do homeowners work with this and how does it affect quality of life esp in the winters?

hey , I'm from CA , i work from home and i have no need to be close to downtown , however i like pretty neighborhoods big old trees green nature and things to do , I've seen videos from Tarrytown ,Hyde park and Barton hills and i liked what i saw , but they seem to be too close to downtown , Are there any other similar places farther away and maybe better prices ? what would u recommend ? , i like the west and hill country too but ideally within +- 30 min from Austin .

None of these prices are really affordable. Just glad I got in over 20 years ago, when the homes barely cracked the six-figure mark. And you know the salaries haven't really moved up accordingly.

What are your feelings about Bastrop? It seems to be rapidly growing.

It sure is! The proximity between Bastrop & the new Tesla plant is sure to make it explode. Best to get in sooner than later!

@@LivingInAustinGroup thank you. I feel we did by my recent property taxes! Lol but the downtown is changing alot, lots of new blood and new cute shops and better restaurants. Pulling for a central market but don't think we are there yet lol!

We love Lago! Well-priced too, especially for essentially being located on the north shore of Lake Travis. 🚤

@@LivingInAustinGroup I’ve been watching prices and noticed a change in prices in Leander and Lago Vista, they used to be similar but in the past few months now it seems the low end in Leander is $340k while the lowest price in Lago Vista is $445k. I wonder why, they were so similar back in December when I was house shopping. On top of that I’ve heard Lago is getting a hotel, McDonald’s, HEB and a Brooks Brothers soon as well as a Brewery that is being built as we speak.

We love living in Taylor! We moved into town Fall of 2021 and loving it! Granger Lake is close by, houses are affordable, very diverse, wonderful Latin community, progressive city leadership, Gay friendly, and downtown is charming. ✨❤️
