I felt exactly the same way about the daughter of the moon goddess but I didn't really love addie larue so much cause the parts set in the past felt kinda repetitive but I still thought it was a masterpiece and gave it 4.5 stars also how come there's not the last two month's booksplosion books on this list like when did you film it?

I read Flyaway when I found a prerelease copy in a little free library about a year ago, and I had many of the same feelings. I just didn't end up connecting to the characters at all and then I blinked and the book was over and someone was a bird all along? (Honestly I don't remember the ending, all I remember is something about birds and something about flowers). But I did really enjoy the prose, when I read the very first pages my jaw hit the floor.

Your videos mean a great deal to a lot of people. You are always source of sunlight especially during these past three years when life felt hopeless at times. You are always a sense of positivity. Even when you share your anxieties. I also appreciated that you're always inclusive as possible. I've heard you bring up your Christianity a couple of times and I know how important that is to you. However, at the same time, you have always managed to be genuinely, I believe, be pro LGBTQ plus. And as somebody who is in the latter group, that is very life affirming. Plus I don't know if you realize this you are hella cute. LOL. Take that as you will LOL. And I have found many wonderful books that I would not have otherwise come across without your channel. Never underestimate what you and other youtubers bring to the table. There have been times I felt like giving up but feeling your genuine kindness through the screen has made a difference. I know it doesn't make any sense because I don't know any of you in real life but you and other creators on CZcams I enjoy make me feel better and that my feelings matter. I feel validated. Thank you.

Just finished "Blaine for the Win" by Robbie Couch. I give it a 4/5. For me there is something about the stories of adolescent angst that never gets old. Probably because I had so much of it growing up. Feeling a little thirsty so I just started a collection of Vampire Short Stories. Sorry I missed the live show, I just got power restored. Got to love Mother Nature, or was it Old Man Winter? Anyway Cheers !

I actually finished House of Sky and Breath around the beginning of this month and was still in a Maasochist mindset, so I decided to binge the ToG audiobooks. Over the past, like, 3 weeks or so, I started from The Assassin's Blade to now starting Empire of Storms. Just gulping it like I've never done before. This is one of those series where I feel so strongly for the characters that every yearly re-read feels like a reunion with old friends, heartache and all, which is why I love it so much (though ACOTAR is my TOP favorite series of all time >.>). Do you have any books/series like that - re-reads just to reconnect with characters?

Daughter of the moon goddess was a RIDE let me tell you! 😅 i can see where some plot points seemed "convenient" plus for the entire first half i just felt like everything was so rushed! Like i would just settle into her new situation & then BAM suddenly shes doing something totally different then BAM suddenrly its two yrs later! I guess bc mostly the fantasies i read really expand on everything a lot where this one she just crammed SO MANY things into just book 1! And thats not saying i didnt enjoy it, its a great fantasy to get lost in! I really loved learning more about chinese mythology & being immersed in that world. And im very thankful it didnt end on a painful cliffhanger until book 2! Im really excited for it bc i have no idea whats next for her!

If you want a good fairytale/folklore-esque book to read that's not a retelling you should definitely give A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross a try. It was beautifully atmospheric and fantastical, but in a grounded way that I felt was pretty unique. Both great characters and a sound plot are present, so it might do the trick for you!

Ok Yall I NEED HELP. I need more books like Six of Crows and The Night Circus. I have downloaded sooo many kindle samples since I read those books and haven’t liked any of them because they just weren’t as good. I love the fact that Six of Crows is a book told from a “villains” perspective (Kaz is a bad person and we love him for it), which is something I’ve always found fascinating. I love The Night Circus because it was a web of out of order story telling that literally did not make sense till the last chapter but also was compelling enough to keep reading. Any suggestions?

I've read The invisible Life of Addie LaRue, and I gave it a 1.5 star. The half star rating is for the beginning which I did actually like. I was deeply into it for the first 70 pages, and then all the love and enjoyment I had for it evaporated. Honestly, my biggest issue with the book actually is the fact that it didn't have much in it, especially for such a big book. And I don't mean in terms of plot or story, I mean in terms of characterisation, in terms of development, and so much more. Even the themes and messages in the story, to me, were barely there. I actually think it would have been much stronger if the book was shorter, even a novella, because I feel like the things you said even about running out of time and loneliness and so on, would have been more impactful. It had an amazing concept, and that is why I don't think it is overhyped, but the execution didn't meet it. That being said, I would read a sequel, because I actually liked the direction it took at the very end, and that did actually intrigue me. I want to see how that plays out.
