Clamp vise grips to I beam and wrap the chain around I beam and above the vise grip so the chain don’t slip pass the vice grip.

Esos cortes hechos a la vertical es muy raro que se hagan en la usina donde las piezas metâlicas se estân fabricando , como en este caso no veo la necesidad de complicarse la vida perforando de esa manera a la vertical , simplemente girar la columna o viga .

What causes the drill to slide and sometimes vibrate ?

That safety chain will slip down along with that drill lmao he should have tied it off somehow. And that swivel base only leaves room for slippage in my opinion when drilling
