Later looked up the lyrics and the background to the song....... I couldn’t watch it it one go, I was crying for like 5 minutes straight. btw, it is still one of my favourite songs him... time to time I’m still tearing up when I hear it, and I can listen to it on repeat one for a whole day...... SPOILER ALERT -background story There are two stories actually.... one is for the original story behind the song. And the other is Dimash’s story. so background of the song quick summary: Terrible cable car accident in China( 1991) 14 died. among those, there was a couple, whom before dying lifted their baby to safety. The original song is written by Han Hong. She adopted the orphan. background story for Dimash: He heard the song when he was 10 and left a deep impression in him. He was singing it on the Chinese “the singer” competition in 2017. (S.O.S video you reacted to is from there as well). But he lost his voice, just before the day of the competition.....got a injection in his throat, wasn’t working right away. Most likely he was singing in physical pain as well, I’m not sure.. Anyway, even then, he delivered a mind blowing emotional beautiful cannot even find words kind of performance. I would say both worth watching......he is not fully healthy in “the singer “ version, and even a person like me, who cannot sing at all can hear it. and he is very healthy during the Bastau version......
Although I have to say......I think even the singer version is amazing in whole different levels!! ^^ But I prefer the Bastau version, cuz it is just epic.
