Oh I so wish I could've been there for this event!!! I'm so happy that it has been posted here so I I can get an idea of what it was like. But there's nothing like actually being there.
However, back in 1974 this was the theater, and remains one of my favorite theaters, where I got to first enjoy this wonderful wonderful film. I can't remember how many times I went, but for as long as it was playing there, I went at least once a week.
And when I got the soundtrack album, I drove my family crazy playing it every day for as long as they would let me. I learned all the moves from the movie and would act out the song performances as I listened in my room or on the big living room stereo when nobody was home. Years before Tom Cruise.
Great songs, great cast, great color and cinematography, and costumes.
I also remember, that some people came to the show dressed up as the characters. There was a blonde woman dressed in a white suit like Swan and she was with a friend dressed as one of the other characters I can't identify now.
Phantom forever! I wish I could have typed this in neon colored font

I saw this in the theater when I was 7 years old and it's still one of my favorite films of all time.

It's pretty amazing how one can miss an event like this and still have the opportunity to experience it via You Tube. In other words, thanks so much for sharing, Nino7500!

So much talent on that panel! I'm glad they're finally getting the love they deserve for such a gem of a movie.

Canada loved this Film. I saw it in 1974, one of only a couple of films I ever went to see more than once. Pure genius. Paul Williams became our God.
There was no forgetting a line because my boyfriend, who'd dragged me in even though I was underage, could recite every word to every song if I forgot. By the fourth viewing we knew it all.
And to this day, even now almost 50 years later I'll say to myself on occasion "today is Tuesday, Winslow".

We showed it as a midnight movie at the Columbia Theater in Hammond, LA. Must have been 1978 or 79. I knew most of the dialogue back then. Still a great flick!!!
