    Back in the early 90s we used to call it "west coast style" or "Beat Junkie" style mixing. I've never seen a tutorial break it down so well. But, then again, it's the legendary Beat Junkies breaking down, so it makes perfect sense. Thank you for always repping L.A. & Bay to the fullest. Much Respect!

    Thank you for this! I’ve come up with some sick sounding beats just by messing with putting the beat out of sync with itself by hand, but in time, (either on a quarter, an 8th or a 16th) then just moving the fader in time, going back and forth completely, as well as using the sound of both decks together. Basically you get dope sounds while just moving the fader.

    Damn the whole time I was trying to figure this out in the 90s it was the 8th note. That took out the snare.

    I grew up doing these dj things without formal training, so it always bugs me out when I hear it explained in this professional manner. Lol in fact we grew up saying, "drop it on the beat, mix with the claps" instead of "drop it on the one, mix with the snares." Like y'all said, everyone has their own name for it.

    • @DJActionVasquez
      @DJActionVasquez Před 5 lety +1

      In this case, showing is teaching. It was explained and demonstrated. What else could they have done to teach more?

      @@DJActionVasquez It's hard to say because I don't know the technique, so I don't know the subtle things about it. It just feels lacking in detail compared to other tutorials I've seen. They explain the basics but not things like why he's switching hands on the fader, and other things you'd know only as an expert

    beat release of the record. MUCH RESPECT BUT LET'S CREATE SOMETHING NEW!!
