Lake Effect Snow Event-Major Travel Disruptions-Buffalo Southtowns

- 11/27/2023- 14-18" of snow fell in a span of 5-6 hours across the Buffalo southtowns resulting in terrible driving conditions. Dozens of cars were stuck and slid off the roadways into ditches. Traffic jams existed throughout the night across all major thruways. The lake effect will continue in ski country on 11/28 before drifting north later into 11/29.

Born in Buffalo (84), raised in Cheektowaga. Moved out of state in 2012. I gotta say, I liked growing up in it, but as an adult, especially having to go to work in it, I like watching snows on screens better lol. Stay safe!
Hey Ap! So you were here for quite a few big storms! December 1995, Nov 2000, December 2001, October 2006, and December 2010! I ice skate, snowboard, and ski, so I love winter!
@@BuffaloWeather1 Yeah, used to play pond hockey in Como Park or any rink my friends had ice at and I snowboard at KB and Holiday decades ago! Christmas' are not the same here in Florida, but I don't miss the freezing temps. Would eventually love to be a snowbird, because I do miss fall A LOT!
I used to play pond hockey at Hoyt lake at Delaware park, was so much fun! I still ski at holiday valley, not so much at kissing bridge

Grew up in St.Cloud Minnesota in the 60's and 70's... Joined the Navy and never went back. I'm never going to shovel snow over my head again!!

I live in the Ottawa Gatineau area. And we had a dusting of snow. The real snow won't be here usually around mid December. Now that's a lot of snow in Buffalo.
That sounds about right, especially during an El Nino year where Decembers on average are usually quite warm.
I rarely get to experience snow... after watching this... I'm kinda happy about that 😂 I can't imagine driving in this much less breaking down in it. 🥶 Stay safe everyone!

Yeah, those 2 storms last year were insane. I got 77" for the first one in November and 54" for the blizzard. I have a bunch of videos and livestreams of those 2 events on my channel.
Why are you breathing so heavy
I was digging out and pushing out cars. I edited that portion out. A few of the cars took 20-30 minutes of pushing to get unstuck.
