The minecraft way:
Step 1: Build a 'temporary' box house or cave home
Step 2: After playing for awhile and gathering materials, prepare to build your new house
Step 3: Look up some builds people have done for their houses for inspiration
Step 4: Realize that to accomplish any of those, you'll need to get 10x the resources you already have and spend like 10 hours of dedicated building time
Step 5: Stop playing for 8 months
Step 6: Start playing again, but feel completely lost and confused as to wtf you were doing
Step 7: Decide to start a new world so you can just start from the start instead of trying to remember everything from your current world
Step 8: Return to step 1
True sadly
Step 9: Become Determined To Finish Your House
Step 10: You Finish Your House
Step 11: Your World Got Corrupted Or Accidentally Deleted
Step 12: Return To Step 1
Was Here Before This Blew Up
True
That's why start with other simple task and gradually make your way through the harder ones
I played Minecraft like 3 years and now realising that making houses take time
I have a lost of farms in my world but didn't make a house for me

@@tailz588 The Good Ending

Step at end of the video: "Now build an entire warehouse."
FR XD
The worst part about it is that you are left to find a way to build one instead of him showing you how to build one
To be fair, he already told you how to make buildings in the begining, and this is not meant to be a step by step tutorial as opposed to a compilation of tips and tricks. His name is "Skip the Tutorial" after all.
Base Builder Garage
@@cybergamer6769 his name is skip the tutorial, and this is meant to be tips, not a full tutorial for each and every single structure he tells you to try out
As a underground miner, it's been difficult to branch out into building. But this really helped. Thank you.

It's An because underground start with a vowel.
@@flapple2Yes it is, "Underground" starts with a vowel
wow what a nice house! wish i had the patience to build it!
you do, if you don't think you can, you can
carpet
Oh boo hoo.
No one cares
Also for the wall facade tip, most logs color match the next darkest plank, oak log=spruce plank, spruce log=dark oak plank, but dark oak log also matches itself
Also on bedrock at least if you name an item and place it in an item frame it will have a floating name which is handy for storage organization
Thanks for the tip!
@@cleverballoon6535 I wish you could place blocks behind item frames in bedrock
thanks sm!
Yay subs
A building tip for nether portals:
You could use some nether blocks while your making your portal look good in overworld. It looks like nether is taking over the world just like mojang did with the ruined nether portals.
i built a big nether portal like this before and i can confirm it looks good
Mythical Sausage has done that before and omg it looks amazing.
Nice fact 🥰😊
I am always doing that in my survival, it looks really natural

Just wanna real quick say that if you plan on being really good at building, this is NOT the only tutorial you need, not even remotely. Being an expert at building requires near perfect understanding of the basics, ie what they are and how to execute them. You need to understand most if not all of the simple concepts there are, have a huge amount of tricks and ideas saved up for detailing and really anything for that matter, often times even understand things like color theory. There is way too much to becoming a good builder to fit into a single video, especially an 8 minute one. But as far as guidelines for people who just want a nice house this video is great, pretty much everything is spot on and will make things look good almost every time you build it.
Also if you want to get really into building, I would recommend watching all of Grians tutorials, and once you've gotten to a decently advanced level, watching tutorials from another, far smaller youtuber who goes by Horace - Minecraft. he is an amazing content creator and is incredibly talented in his craft, in my opinion, even better than grian is, though they do build in vastly different ways so there isn't much comparison that works there.
I would recommend watching Bdubs interior and exterior tutorials but that’s what I think and the only problem I have with using this tutorial is that skip doesn’t use foundation blocks, and I did see a bit of some but they were straight cobblestone
Thank you for the referrals!
8:05 uses furnace for netherite. 5:07 uses blast furnace for cow milk decor
Wow you’re so very smart!!
I’d recommend to anyone reading this don’t care abt our being good and build your own skill set. What you like is what you like
I always love how people mention color theory like noticing complementary colors and contrast is difficult.
If there’s anything I’ve learned over the years of building in Minecraft, is that you shouldn’t be afraid to try new things and find inspiration for builds on the internet!
Practice makes perfect after all
This is the reason why your name is “Skip the tutorial”
It’s because I’m a skip this
Yup, and I love it.
Yeah wait I never realized how well he formats his content… its amazing.
wait I NEVER NOTICED LOL IM DUMB
I'm dumb I didn't notice
3:05 Tip for the trees: Use Spruce Planks with Oak Logs, because they have the same color. Also works with Dark Oak Planks on Spruce Logs.
and oak logs and dark oak logs
the logs that are righ cliekd by axe idk
I use dark oak doors for with spruce cuz I don’t like the look of spruce doors that much

7:26 Ah yes, soul lanterns before you build the nether portal. Makes perfect sense.
Deep dark.
Here’s an extra tip: Place Netherrack in different spots in the ground of the nether portal to make it look like it’s spreading into the world.

Holy gosh. I’d consider myself to be a pretty good builder, but this man’s base puts all my years of building to shame. Amazing job Skip.
Indeed
I did it
as a builder theres a lot in here ive never considered (even with me using unusual block palletes for a lot of builds)
Sameee
I have built more and better houses than the amount of subscribers he has
I already forgot the things in the video as soon as I went to try to build a house
I did to😂
what I like to do with indoor ways (paths that are supposed to be near the sleeping room and somewhere where I'd usually walk in socks) is to make a 5 blocks wide path, as I always wood, the middle three blocks are carpet, and the blocks on the edges are whatever floor block I'm using. I really like it when things look regular, sort of.
Thank you for these tips. I’m gonna apply these to my dirt house.
haha love the dirt houses
@@louisewormalddx You think he's joking? Maybe, but I sure am not. I am going to extend my dirt house into a wonderful flora masterpiece. Never doubt dirt enjoyers.
This was surprisingly helpful I had currently been struggling with my builds thanks man

Hii 🥰
You could also watch grians build school vids aswell if you want more tips

He’s called skip the tutorial but he is the tutorial
Such a great video!! This really helps my 7 year old and I to build together in game. I'm fairly new to mine craft and she's showing me the ropes. Thank you!!
This was great! Can you do another similar one for bases that aren’t houses?
watching a couple of hermitcraft base builds is pretty helpful imo
You could watch other buildings tutorials as this is more of a quick guide rather than a tutorial tbh
like underground bases :D
If you make anything you live in it counts as a house
I will 100% be doing some of these :D
Also, farm tip: You can make a sort of vineyard using two-block tall fences, berry bushes (so it's functional), leaves, and vines ;)
can you do more of these please? i love watching you transform everything rather than just giving us ideas verbally!!
skip the tutorial: makes a tutorial
me: skips the tutorial
Never in 1 million years would've thought of using diorite walls for trees

I think it’s a joke
Thanks for putting this together, Skip. I don't think I'm a great builder, but this video has given me some inspiration to make small improvements around my base and hopefully grow from there! :)
after watching this makes me wanna be more creative and have a bigger imagination and more confidence on building thank you as always

UPDATE: AFTER SOME TIME, BEDROCK PLAYERS CAN NOW FIT THROUGH TRAPDOORS! IM VERY HAPPY!

I was literally searching up ways to improve my builds! Absolute perfect timing 😂

I think this is the most useful and amazing video you've posted yet, thank you so much!
This is great most people I watch do build make it look hard. It is nice to have someone that can show there is a more easy way to do cool build.
I love these so much, but the majority aren’t even possible for me seeing as I’m on mobile and can’t do things like get pushed into a sliding position from trapdoors. Still fun to watch, though!
you can use water to crawl
Use an elytra its so easy to get one
Do you play on mobile because you're literally broke?
@@binkus_ wtf
@@Goosie. You see her username is 'iamliterallybroke' which is why I was wondering if that's why she plays on mobile. Because if you're 'literally broke' you can't afford a pc or console which means you have to play on mobile.
i learnt more in this 8m.37s video than i learnt in a 40 minute video, i appreciate all the help and i feel like now is the right time to give a sub...
this video was really good i clicked on it to accually improve my build but instead i just watched it without realizing it was a tutorial, The call backs kept me intrested and the tips were vauge enough to be useful in more than just one build. 10/10
I love how he builds all this stuff just for his fans
I've learnt from this Video that's even less than 10 minutes more than i learnt from other videos, that's why I like Skip the Tutorial, keep it up man.
Something else I usually tend to throw in with the nether portal idea is adding some glass panes to the side of another portal that you're not going to be entering or exiting from and then on the opposite side of the glass build a copy of what's on the other side of the portal so just before you walk through it's like you can see what's on the other side
Thats dope
Nether Diarama lol
@@rabmanrabman kind of yeah but it's full size which is why I usually like to build a room around my portal so that I don't end up having to build something massive)
This is great! I often get confused as to how to make a nice build or make my area look nice. I was looking around for tips on how to build a nice area. I like that this is very simple and very direct. Gives some good tips for people who aren't builders as to how the heck builders make nice things as well as some good upgrades to basic features lots of players will have in their area!
Cool houses 😎Great video Skip!
I love the fact that you took us through building the house rather than individual tips and tricks
Actually tried this and it turned out freaking amazing. Definitely recommend trying this.
I love these ideas. Im definately gonna use them
I have access to all building knowledge thank you Skip
I don’t know why but skip always makes me want to play Minecraft

A tip that came in mind to me is making a dragon mouth with fangs for the nether portal and the warden's guts for the end, i feel like endstone and sculk stuff ar like man and woman its just so cool to me! btw great helping hand skip!
Finally, a use for diorite!!
The house is absolutely beautiful , you did an incredible job + the people you got reference photos are outstanding 10 / 10 vid

This is the best tutorial
Your videos are helpful and awesome. Please keep up the good work :)
@Verified ⸜⁄ bots are everywhere
The thing is, most of these tips are already well-known, using them wisely, while neither over-detailing nor under-detailing- that's the biggest struggle.
Still though, I was very happy when I built my starter house and my library, the builds which were done solely by myself without any tutorials, except for some mild inspirations. They may be not as good as Grian or GoodTimesWithScar or any other professional builder would make, but it's my own creation, and it's an honest work.
We really need a part 2!
