Well 99% of the people dont care lore tough I agree that its lore is amazing but it alsohas its own flaws Phamtoms lore is amazing but general story chapters lacked seriousness in my opinion the fact that we still havent lost a single important character despite being in so many battles kinda makes no sense to me Also the weird writing and boringly long dialogues makes lore ignored most of the time by many people wich is sad Thank god phantoms event handles all of them perfectly

Which is the reason why nobody got killed afterwards. If it was pre-amnesia doctor, we would see like 100 bodies everyday. Plus most the characters have like terminal rock cancer so not like they can live forever. In Skalter dialogues, she said that the doctor failed to save everyone in that alternate universe and that Amiya and Kal'sit were dead. So yea Hypergryph could go murder important characters if they wish. You want it to be like Honkai where Mihoyo murdered Himeko, Sakura, Mobius, Elysia, etc... but somehow you can still gacha for them?
There is a theory that the endings are in reverse order and the first one is the true ending and the fourth is what brings Phantom to the castle in order to avoid the tragedy he would commit and that's why we fight him on ending one.
I haven't played IS1 but IS2 is interesting. One of things that interests me is the roguelike elements and how it "defeat" works here. I theorise that when you the doctor and the exploration team are defeated, you "die" by the hands of the Crimson Troupe...but at the same time, you didn't. Let me explain. You start a run in IS2 and unfortunately your life points reach 0. The message in the results screen say something like *you are doomed in the castle forever* But what happens next is what's interesting. *Revertebration* also means Echo. While it looks like the doctor died in the castle, that was only ONE possible self....and every time the doctor and his team died in the castle, that was only a dimensional self, not the true doctor. When the "false doctor self" died, their knowledge and experience resonate with reality as a Echo. AKA the Calignous insights and Candles. *Somehow, the doctor's consciousness resonates with all the "doctors who died in previous runs", granting him prophetic knowledge and a better chance of preparedness* Even if the Doctor succeeded in a run and returns safely, that knowledge is greatly echoed to the consciousness of the doctor, making potential future runs even easier. Which explains why you are getting a lot of candles and calignous insights. This...is a terrifying thought. The doctor, phantom, Rhodes Island and the Crimson Troupe stuck in a *never-ending cycle of wins and losse within that decrepit castle* but it is an interesting adventure. Always a fresh experience...and an Echo should the doctor fails.
There is an artifact called "End of Times" The flavor text is interesting *As long as a new cycle has not been reached, there is still time to fix your mistakes* This might hint in something called *metempsychosis* aka reincarnation or repeat of cycles
It's almost like it's a play, and the runs where we fail are "performed incorrectly" and so it goes back, only the run where you beat Lucian is considered "performed correctly". And as such all failures result in the play restarting to thoroughly complete the tragedy of IS2

I believe that's the Mouth piece instead of the troupe master. The troupe master is the one who runs the entire troupe while the mouth piece is none other the host of the show who announced the play and etc.
Roguelike has the most intriguing storytelling in Arknight IMO. You have great interaction with story itself, its twist and turn is therefore that much more powerful. Back in IS1, the moment the story announce the "FrostNova" alternate ending, I literally felt chill down my spine. IS2 managed to do this too, but with a taste of sadness as you receive "blank suicide note" item, indicating the desperation of the spirit trapped in that Ursus Bear. More desperation come when you think you have just beaten the True Puppeteer that tortured that innocent soul, only for Phantom to become mind-controlled again and forever stuck in that sh*t hole.
i didn't really remember any story in IS1 but this one tho damn, and the setting helped that a lot i guess for me. i just love gothic to victorian gothic style environment and with that thick incense candle that i could qlmost smell just from reading it

Upon getting high from some mushrooms, Ceobe travel around Terra, encounter various event, which lead to various ending. Ending 1 is an encounter with Wilderness hunting group, with Rusthammer (Aka Walmart Faust) as the final boss. If you read the story of Vigilo and Preluding Light, Rusthammer is basically a bunch of hobos with nowhere to go, manage survive extensively in the Terra wasteland and make a living out of hunting and raiding passerby. Merchant Cannot is actually among these guy, perhaps one of the higher-ups in charge of communicating and doing formal business with external organizations, Doctor is one of such entity. To reach ending 2, you spend a few Ingots to properly bury a gravely wounded bounty hunter. You then follow his blood trail, spend some lifepoints to pass through his trap and a battlefield, likely between him and some other mercenaries, and discover a "Psychedelic Treasure map". Following the map, you reach a banana forest, but run in circle due to the confusing oordination, and the name of these places only come from Sami's fairy tale. Suddenly, you feel a drop in temperature, and uncover an "invisible" location with an "invisible" person from the clue of the map - likely refer to the boss, Frozen Montrosity. It is said that she is a Samian Sacrficant who went into the tundra to ward off Demons, but ended up going insane and become one of them. 3rd ending requires you to fetch a "Heavy metal chest" from a deadly mafia shootout (by that I mean everyone was dead), then open it using a "pitched black key", only to discover a SEVERED HAND now reduced to bones, clutching a Laterano gun. You know you are now stuck in a conspiracy of sort, and disaster will soon follow. That disaster is Gravestone, an enigmatic killer who chase its target to the end of the earth.

It's nice that the ending gets posted on the internet, because no way in hell I'll ever see it in-game. The amount of times I've lost in this game mode makes me question if I'm even smart enough to play this game lol.
Me neither I always lose to that Crimson blood diamond. For a mode with 0 sanity required to play I legit got a headache every few dozen rounds so I think it may be plausible that they found some way to use your real life sanity to play instead lol.
I had to stop for a while, probably until the next month, because I spent too much time playing and suffered from sleep deprivation and painful headaches as a result.

So Phantom is now essentially a ticking time Bomb. At each Moment he could return to being the Blood Diamond and kill dozens on Rhodes Island. This is a terrifying Thought, each Day could be the Last but we wouldnt know it. All of this, so many Lifes, in the Hands of an Insane and Twisted Man who might even be a Deity. In Theory beating him wouldnt be that Hard considering how many Top Operators RI's has but we would still take Heavy Losses, potentialy even having to end Phantom..... Man this has so much Potential
I manage to get two endings in this game mode, but not the third ending. RNG is really the true boss in this mode. I do want to know more about the big castle with its "Inhabitants" wandering about and the mysteries. How many unfortunate souls got trapped and died there? Why were there many enemies? The RNG aspect in IS1 is even worse... In IS1, to get ending 2 (Walmart Frostnova), you've encounter 2 events, first to get "Psychedelic Treasure map" and second to get "Bloodstained Flyer". It's the 2nd event that has very rough RNG, sometimes you have a NOICE team but no luck getting that second event to trigger the ending. Thankfully, they have reduce the ending 2 condition of IS1 downto just 1 encounter, the other is purely optional.
I have something scary to tell, don't know whether you notice or not. But in ending 1, Phantom monologue said that there were once people who came to save him before Rhodes Island... So what if those enemies were actually the souls of those who fails to save phantom and were enslaved by the troupe master like the doll was, and meanwhile Phantom... he was used as a bait multiple times by the troupe master to creates numerous play of tragedies to his self amusement?
if you noticed, theres 3 medal for monthly-squad achievement.. how many monthly-squad did CN had now? only 1 squad, and we already have 4 ending? just how many ending-version will we have until "old castle" theme ends? very intriguing.. obviously, the grand finale will be versus The Troupe Master
I can already imagine of a final story of IST2 we have to fight phantom one more last time but instead fighting him on the castle, we have to fight him on rhodes island due to his brainwash or aka the activation of the blood diamond role, its more likely to be a final show in my theory, the good ending is like everything was over and his past trauma and other horrible stuff in the past will be gone and there will be a new story which will be taking over to mizuki’s story, in the bad ending, they didn’t managed to take down phantom and basically a down fall of Rhodes island This is basically all a theory but who knows, maybe this might happen to the future updates of IST2#

In folklore or myths, Black Cat are an omen of misfortune, being considered as with-related stuff known to be used as their familliar. What if Miss Christine was Phantom's familiar created from his doubt and will to resists the troupe's existence? And since we're in an event of sanity-madness related, probably Miss Christine exists from Phantom's own arts to be his guide in time of needs. But the time won't add up since he met Miss Christine before he decided to revolt and destroy the troupe.
it could be Ms Christine is a also projection of Phantom infection. especially because he has worry about his voice change and the nervous damage amplification. so the part about Phantom own arts to be his guide seems make sense but only with different reason.
As for me, all of the endings are canon, just not in order. The first of the sequence is the Ridiculous Comedy ending. After the bear was defeated, Phantom gain a moment of himself. After collecting himself, they were ready to leave. But like a play, it has a twist for him. The Troupe's Mouthpiece appeared. Of course, Phantom being his mission to eliminate the troupe pursued. Which lead to the battle for the ending of Grand Opening. Phantom being a fast redeployment operator probably soloed those assistants. In the Grand Opening scene, we saw that Phantom was hypnotized again by the Troupe. Which then leads to the battle for the Crimson Finale ending, Crying Over Spilt Milk. After defeating him, Shalem helped him to get out of the castle. I don't know the fourth ending but is probably canon too since it is 'in sequence'. Now, this makes me wonder for the first Integrated Strategies if all of the endings are canon too. Ceobe slept with a Cerberus, stole Mr. Cannot's honeycake while being high then woke up having those honeycakes in her hand.
I was going to say that this reminds me of the Crimson King and the play of Alagadda, the Grim Troupe from hollow knight, and goof troupe, for the people with animal ears, but those things all seem much cooler, once I listened to the story.

Idk why ppl cant see it, troupe master has a beef with our ancient fossil on the landship. Hence the "voice in lucian's head" telling him to get there. Whatever happens next is all entertainment for the troupe master seeing his pawn mess with fossil grandma from way back when they knew each other.
Yknow I went from like castle level 10 to 50, all from trying to beat Big Sad Lock. Not ONCE did I realise the unlock encounter and the subsequent 2 to get the blank suicide note were all connected.

@@dedcet634 maybe to some extent but as long as you choose 1 or 2 versatile carry right at beginning then there's really not much of an rng problem. just take your time familiarize with all your ops and don't rely on artificat, unless it's hard mode artifact aren't that important (yes even the doll)

In IS1, to get ending 2 (Walmart Frostnova), you've encounter 2 events, first to get "Psychedelic Treasure map" and second to get "Bloodstained Flyer". It's the 2nd event that has very rough RNG, sometimes you have a NOICE team but no luck getting that second event to trigger the ending. Thankfully, they have reduce the ending 2 condition of IS1 downto just 1 encounter, the other is purely optional.
I have something scary to tell, don't know whether you notice or not.
But in ending 1, Phantom monologue said that there were once people who came to save him before Rhodes Island...
So what if those enemies were actually the souls of those who fails to save phantom and were enslaved by the troupe master like the doll was, and meanwhile Phantom... he was used as a bait multiple times by the troupe master to creates numerous play of tragedies to his self amusement?

if you noticed, theres 3 medal for monthly-squad achievement.. how many monthly-squad did CN had now? only 1 squad, and we already have 4 ending? just how many ending-version will we have until "old castle" theme ends? very intriguing.. obviously, the grand finale will be versus The Troupe Master
I can already imagine of a final story of IST2 we have to fight phantom one more last time but instead fighting him on the castle, we have to fight him on rhodes island due to his brainwash or aka the activation of the blood diamond role, its more likely to be a final show in my theory, the good ending is like everything was over and his past trauma and other horrible stuff in the past will be gone and there will be a new story which will be taking over to mizuki’s story, in the bad ending, they didn’t managed to take down phantom and basically a down fall of Rhodes island
This is basically all a theory but who knows, maybe this might happen to the future updates of IST2#
Plus, if this activation happened on rhodes island, I can already bet that it will become a stage and where we have to fight the brainwashed rhodes island soldiers or maybe ops

I like to think that Ms. Christine race is same like Emperor, High Priest and Duck Lord.

And since we're in an event of sanity-madness related, probably Miss Christine exists from Phantom's own arts to be his guide in time of needs.
But the time won't add up since he met Miss Christine before he decided to revolt and destroy the troupe.
it could be Ms Christine is a also projection of Phantom infection. especially because he has worry about his voice change and the nervous damage amplification. so the part about Phantom own arts to be his guide seems make sense but only with different reason.
Integrated Strategies aka "Man I wished I have more built operators"
As for me, all of the endings are canon, just not in order.
The first of the sequence is the Ridiculous Comedy ending. After the bear was defeated, Phantom gain a moment of himself. After collecting himself, they were ready to leave. But like a play, it has a twist for him. The Troupe's Mouthpiece appeared. Of course, Phantom being his mission to eliminate the troupe pursued.
Which lead to the battle for the ending of Grand Opening. Phantom being a fast redeployment operator probably soloed those assistants. In the Grand Opening scene, we saw that Phantom was hypnotized again by the Troupe.
Which then leads to the battle for the Crimson Finale ending, Crying Over Spilt Milk. After defeating him, Shalem helped him to get out of the castle. I don't know the fourth ending but is probably canon too since it is 'in sequence'.
Now, this makes me wonder for the first Integrated Strategies if all of the endings are canon too. Ceobe slept with a Cerberus, stole Mr. Cannot's honeycake while being high then woke up having those honeycakes in her hand.

@@dedcet634 maybe to some extent but as long as you choose 1 or 2 versatile carry right at beginning then there's really not much of an rng problem. just take your time familiarize with all your ops and don't rely on artificat, unless it's hard mode artifact aren't that important (yes even the doll)
