You can try a lot of things. I am in high school and i started programming first, but you can start any domain. You can see on youtube a lot of videos about cs projects to begin with. It can sound boring to do "beginner" projects but it really help you to do basic things it will allow you to be things faster later.
But be carefull, ALWAYS focus on your studies first. That's something you have to remember: you still have plenty of time before computer science studies, but you don't get other chances at school.
So you can start freely doing computer science projects but don't drive away from your studies , alright ?
If you want some ideas for programming projects, here are some ideas :
- create a calculator
- chat app (for networking)
- social media bots
- web scrapper
- 2 d plateform game
Every topic will follow along the projects. Hope that will help you 😊.
1. chose professors wisely
2. start projects early
3. have a study group
4. never risk cheating
5. minimize recorded classes
6. use online discussion forums

Yo bro I just wanted to say thank you, I'm going into CS at Cornell next semester and your videos really motivated me to get to the position I'm in today. I watch all your videos bro much love 🙏
My friend has a full ride to Cornell in cs too
How is it so far? Is it hard
Bro I graduated management in class 12 can study bachelor in CS?
How is it so far?
I originally found you when I was studying for the SAT's and looking for new testing strategies and I'm glad that I found you again now that I'm going into college and pursuing computer science as a major
I am a CS grad, one advice I would like to add is to look into the different fields of CS like networking or databases. I have seen comments from other videos that they want a CS major or currently a CS student but they struggle or suck with coding, so they wouldn't be a good CS student. I reply back to their comment saying just because you are struggling or suck at this one topic/field doesn't mean you will suck at the others. CS isn't all bout coding, look into the different fields and stick your toe into each one and see which one works out for you the best and stick with it.
In my experience, I am not a good programmer. I can read the code and get a basic understanding of what it doing but to solve a problem or start from scratch, I couldn't do it. my professors were not much help either. They spent more time with the students doing well vs the students that were struggling like me. I took a basic networking class and It was like a lightswitch. I enjoyed working with networks and the hardware. So I took mostly networking classes.
I had this same horrible life as a student this past summer quarter. I took 8-week computer science classes as a sophomore and it was a total nightmare. I used to pull a nightover every week. Thanks for this video. I am also a TA for a freshman class next quarter
One of your best videos hands down
Bro, its actually a great video! really helpful
Amazing video, man! Don’t know how this video doesn’t have millions of views, you provided some really useful information here and I appreciate it a ton. I’m getting out of the military soon and trying to navigate this college stuff for the first time and tips like these give me a lot of motivation 🙏🏾
yeah the video have some really good information. i'm also in the military and i'll be getting out in a couple years and this is what i wanna study in college and this video among others on youtube provide some really good insight about the cs major and college life for those going to college for the first time. assuming that you're already out of the military, how has your experience been? have you started your educational journey?
Really important advice, just do what you love. In the end, we all are just humans living in this life.
did all my prereq was doing biotechnology and now deciding to do computer science. All my prereqs are done. So now I'm gonna make the switch to cs. I love computers and i'm always on my 3080 ti :)
Thank you so much for this
Thank you for making this video

Man, i was really close to commiting to CS but I didn't want to work on computers all the time (rather leave it as a hobby). So i changed majors into the aviation industry
Damn yall can choose your teachers?? 😂 Fr tho thanks man, im gon be taking comp sci in college in a few months so this is super helpful still
We don't have a choice of professor at any of the four UK institutions I have offers from. We just pick up modules based off our own interests and we get the professor who is linked to that module. I have offers from Imperial, Edinburgh, Manchester and Durham.
I like to do Prime programming and game developing. What should I choose? CSE or software engineering?
I have studied computer in school too, where i have learnt basic coding, algorithim, datamangement, software application, programming.is it ok if i take computrr after ny 12 th?
What textbook do they use at UMD for Object Oriented Programming I and II and Calculus I? I want to pre-study before I start, so I can focus on social stuff my first year..
I’m a software engineer major, which is almost like computer science
Well, shit, I'm still taking my gers in hopes to pursuing a teaching careers in education. I've been thinking about CS as they do make a lot of money. I was doing coding and data management when in high school for a hobby. The only reason I would be getting into CS is bcuz of the money it can make for you.
I’m on my first programming class ever as a freshman. It’s a 8 week fully online. Also, we’re learning from a textbook only no videos or lessons. I decided to switch majors next semester 💀
What uni?
Did you change your major? If so, what did you change it to?
Yeah first impression matters, I switched to Engineering and i still did CompSci and I now do well.. might switch back if scholarship allows, it’s not too late u can still switch🫡
Watching this the summer before I start CS at Duke!!
how is it so far?
Thanks man

Watching this because I plan to shift to a CS course from AB psych
Hi, I really liked your video It was informative and I could get a lot of things to do and things not to do. I plan on majoring in Computer Science and i just needed to know what i should know before i start in the Fall Im excited and scared at the same time is that okay
No worries, you can do it!
Bro I graduated management in class 12 can I study bachelor in CS?
Thank you.
Please make a video on pre college ec for CS high-schoolers like projects and competitive programming?
a company caring about an "XF" is hilarious and ironic considering what companies ethically do routinely...
Awesome
From which University you have done your masters?
All facts
I will begin computer science octuber can you recommend me a good Laptop please 🙏
Hey I need advice from everyone I’m going in to a community college for computer science engineering and I’m transferring to a different college after 2 years I’m good with science and computers but not good with math do you guys recommend CSE
hey im also going to umd, tuffs
How are computer science professors at UMD
Like what kind of projects?
im a compsci major too
Hi I love web designing, game developing. I want to work in those sector. Im really bad at math. What major would be best for me?
1.CSE
2.software engeneering
3.Information technology
(I also like business management)
Probably out of those 3, number two.
Web Designing could potentially overlap with IT? Rarely
Get good at math and go computer science. It’ll open doors to all of the fields you listed.

Hello were you a TA for 216 this semester?
Yup
Saw this too late, I'm already failing fundamentals of programming 😂😂😂
Nah man I have five people in the CS department and only about 3 of them teach each semester
Am still trying to choose...computer science or applied computing...any advice?
Whats the difference?
@@danny.golcman6846 Computer science students usually graduate with very specific technical skills in an area of IT. By contrast, applied computing programs teach students the wide range of technical skills that apply to almost any IT job

You got to keep going
Bro yes I’ve been taking pre calc this year too and I kinda struggle in the class so it makes me wonder if I’ll be any good in CS since i suck at math
@@jesse_2710the math isn’t as important as learning/knowing the problem solving methods/mindset. That’s what really Carries over and breaking down concepts. Calculus doesn’t really pop often when coding
YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR PROFESSORS????
Ikr
At my school many classes have two different sections so you can choose which professor you want, and there are way more classes offered than you need so again you can pick what professors you want.
Unable to decide between UMD vs PSU for computer science. Any Advice?
UMD it’s top 15/ top 10 for CS and maybe I’ll see u there I’ll be a freshman next year
Umd is great , In Qs ranking it's currently 160 somewhere ( Dont know how ) and TH(Around50-60) , While PSU 96 in QS world Ranking and TH(120) .
Its better to go in UMD , But the price is also high 🥲 , Psu is also good , But Umd will be a better option if price doesnt matters to u
I Submitted my college application 11:58
I am a CS major
I clicked but I’m a last year master student
I am dying in my first semester
Hi I’m a junior at hs and wanted to ask how hard was like learning coding?
Easy and hard. Easy to learn hard to master. But one thing about learning how to code is that it’s gonna take a long time , not gonna learn it in a day
It depends on what langue you start with, and how quickly you have to start learning other languages. At my university, the first semester was just an intro to Python course and it was easy. But this second semester I have a Java course, and another Python course, and trying to think in two different languages when first starting can be quite difficult at times.
Just got accepted into the computer science major and want to make sure l don't die before lm even there XD
haha good luck
He is so cute 😍🙈
