Performed by members of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Harp Society at their annual "String Fever" concert. (Linda Wood Rollo is harpist seated second from right, in front row.) May 14, 2011, Immanuel Lutheran Church, San Jose, California. Lynn Bailey, organist.
Many other selections from the second and third annual String Fever concerts are posted on this channel, with as many as 20 harps performing.
A piece people have heard zillions of times but THIS arrangement with all the harpists...SO GORGEOUS.
I would have been teary eyed in the audience.
If you folks had a CD with this performance, it would be on repeat at my home.
The best things are always hidden, tucked away from the sight of people. This is one.

My mom was a member of the Silicon Valley Chapter & the Bay Area Chapter of the American Harp Society - I remember many performances of this wonderful piece with her playing, Phyllis Schlomovitz, and Renee Quinn. Such a wonderful piece... It makes my heart happy to see this.

Yes, this beyond words. I never paid attention into harp playing all my life. This is an unintended search which led me to this video. Tell you, I was struck in disbelief, it's marvellous, and glorious. The story of King David played for King Saul came almost instantly, he must have been a very talented harpist. Now I understand, it's so powerful and capable of soul reaching.

The music is available several places online, including through Vanderbilt Music and Lyon and Healy's harp music department. It is listed as Pachelbel Canon in D Harp Solo, and the Harp II part is sold separately through the same distributors. We played these two harp parts, and then there was some "ad libbing".
