If ALTERNATOR Belt breaks - will car start and drive?

Alternator belt or water pump belt is one of the Most Important Component of your car. What will happen if the Alternator belt or water pump belt breaks suddenly in your car.will your car start?can it run normally?what are the problems you can face?

I faced this situation on highway.belt was broken..battery symbol appeared.my car engine was overheating.i was very tensed.somehow i found mechanic shed within 3km. thank god engine was not seized..

I had new belts and battery put on in November, had to take the car back to shop twice because the belt kept squeaking which wasn’t happy before they changed them. The belt started squeaking again off and on. Tonight the battery light, brake light, air bag light and seals belt light all came on. The car lost power and got stuck in the middle of highway. Antifreeze on the ground. Finally got a tow truck had it towed home since it was late at night. The belt for the alternator and water pump was completely missing, the tow driver got it to start with his jumper box.

Sir mera running gadi me altinator belt break ho gaya highway pe 15 km chalaya phir dhere dhere streering lock ho raha tha or coolen bhi nikal raha tha abhi Engine pe koi dikkat to nahi ayega na please reply sir

Sir meri gaand cng hai toh mera alternator belt break hogya running me but ignition off kiya toh fir start nhi hua gaadi lekin coolant bahar nikal raha tha n slowly slowly steering lock ho raha tha n baaki system bandh ho raha tha dheere
