Dimitri’s acting in the beginning is great! And David Yow too- Me and a friend interviewed Jesus Lizard in 1990 and while the other band members melted away dismayed at our awkward nerdy ways David patiently answered our questions right until the end . Great guy.

@@halodude539 They just sound off imo. Maybe it's just me, growing up on Black Album, it always was very heavy sounding to me and now the covers by other artists make the songs so soft. I know, some will say 'the covering artist is allowed to cover the song their own way' but this band tried to keep some of the power level of the original song.
Other covers sound too weak for a Metallica song, it's like the artists wrote a new song from scratch using lyrics and basic riffs. You could hear it's a Holier Than Thou cover here because the vocal patterns are almost identical, the structure of the song is similar, while other covers... strayed too far away from the original?
Just my opinion, I don't like soft music and I felt really bad trying to listen to soft versions of the songs that I love so much because of their heaviness.

While I also love how heavy the black album is, I always adore listening to an artist cover a song that isn't there's and put THEIR spin on it. It breaths life into the song and can give a whole different perspective. Just because it's soft doesn't mean it will ruin the song, the only way a song can be ruined is by the original artist when they play it badly live in my opinion hahaha.
In my opinion people should be more open to covers cause its quiet obvious they won't be able to replicate the original, that's why metallica is metallica, that's why faith no more is faith no more and so on. Sure many don't enjoy metallicas take on whiskey in the jar because of how heavy it is, they prefer thin lizzies version and I think its ridiculous, both bands had a clearly different approach to recording this song and playing it live, so why can't fans understand the differences and appreciate them for what they are.
At the end of the day, I'm just trying to encourage you to look into these covers with more of an open mind. I admit I was close minded myself but once your more open, it can change your life. Take it from me haha
Just speculating but it might be a question of age? When I was in my teens and Puppets was the best album there was I wouldn't have been able to appreciate Miley Cyrus' version of NEM, I think. Now, many years later, I loved it the instant I listened to it.
