Reggie Miller scores 34 points in the series clinching win against the New York Knicks in game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Apparently this game was ripped from a DVD set or something so that's why this video looks more glorious than any other recorded footage. - Sport
This video has really good quality to be 20 years old.
Man, He was effecient... His Basketball IQ was highly overlooked... i mean he never over dribbles... he knows when to cut and flare... he can get to the rim with 2 dribbles bcause of his good setup.. he was overall fundamentally sound only his jumpshot wasn't
He's a beauty to watch. No one moved better without the ball, he utilized his screens so well that he'd just lead his defender right into them by taking a specific route, and he's the best clutch player I've ever seen. He's my favorite ever.
well said... and a happy new year to you =))
And to you as well!
miller had so many good teammates and coaches...I think people overlook that...larry bird larry brown and rick carlisle is a nice trio with chuck person detlef schreimph byron scott rick smits marc jackson chris mullin sam perkins dale davis jalen rose jermaine o'neal ron artest stephan jackson jamal tinsley as teammates isn't bad..
@@razkable Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson fucked up the Pacers best team in 2004-2005 by going up in the stands at the Pistons game. They screwed up any chance of Reggie or the Pacers winning an NBA title. Great teammates.
I was happy for the Pacers, they deserved to play their first NBA Finals. It's crazy, Miller at 34 years old, he's still the MVP of the Pacers. Larry Bird left quickly because he had huge back problems at this time.
My favorite player of all time pacer nation for ever👊
Payback from 1999..... Most satisfying win in Pacers history
GREATEST shooter of all time. In my opinion even the better form. Pure Art. The accuracy in G6 or G7 always improved. What a shooter!
NAH HIS FORM IS UGLY
Ever heard of Steph Curry,Ray Allen?
SP FromNY914 Curry who ?
@@sebastianwiebke8670 seth curry
I'd take Miller over Steph... Being a good defender and a shooter is practically dead now. Defense is dead.
People talk about the step back like its a new move but reggie and others have been doing it a while. @3:45
Jesus Shuttlesworth why they have to be stupid and narrow minded? Maybe they are just misinformed.
@Jesus Shuttlesworthlol str8 up ppl act like players started doing all this after curry in 2016.
Step back without traveling.
Paul Pierce used to use the step back all the time, as well as Iverson.
I love how Larry Bird got the hell out of there @5:31 lol. He doesnt care for Conference championships
He had huge back problems for his health, that's why he didn't stay long time…
Nah i mean ur right I know his back was wrecked but Trav is right he wanted the ring
I rooted for the pacers in the finals that year but Lakers was too much
NBA on NBC coverage is what made all these games even more memorable. The commentators, the NBA on NBC theme song. Loved those days very much.
Yup, and those story intros.
Wow, fantastic quality my friend. Much better than the version I uploaded.
Reggie Miller had such a beautiful game loved watching him play when I was a kid.
Game represented the last of the old guard from the rugged 90's Eastern Conference. MJ was gone, and the Knicks and Pacers would go in to a period of mediocrity, which left 2001 WIDE OPEN. As evidence by the Sixers, Bucks, Hornets, and Raptors, teams that had combined to reach all of five second round appearances combined since 1988 (Sixers three, Hornets two), as the four teams in the Eastern semis.
true..the balzers last year to be true contenders too..losing to both la and san Antonio in 99 and 00 just like they lost to the pistons in 90 la in 91 and bulls in 92.....thats so sad they lost to 5 teams that all got to win titles but not them to think the blazers pacers knicks who were all legit contenders from 1990-2004 all are still looking for a title since 1978 started...shame...
loved to see the Pacers win and advance to the Finals...to this day its hard to believe they were 2 games from wining their first NBA championship in 2000...so close!
Annnnnnnddddd... The Knicks officially died that day
cause they traded ewing...from that moment till that melo trade they were dead in the water and since 2014 they been stayed dead...they chose latrel sprewell alan houston antonio mcdyss nazr mohammad stephon maubury eddy curry jamal crawford jerome james quinton richardson david lee zach randolph steve francis tracy mcgrady amare stoudamire tyson chandler carmelo anthony jr smith derrick rose joakim noah kristapz porzingaz tim hardaway jr. to hand this team to pay big money to and every singe one of them has failed....all because they got greedy in 2011 and chose to trade their assets for melo rather than wait to sign him in free agency lol...why cause melo needed his money...smdh...if larry brown pat riley phil jackson and mike dantoni cant win there what does that tell you...
@@razkable finally, a fan who knows what they are talking about.
@@gamerschannel9610 That's true this was our Last Dance. Van Gundy should have double-teamed Reggie that was the only way they were going to win.
@@clintonallen6024 What happened was that Ewing was not healthy again and on a steep decline. Charlie Ward was having his best playoff run of his career. Allan Houston was playing through a severely sprained ankle he suffered in game 6 of the Miami series but never had a chance to heal it because the Miami series went 7 games and then they had to fly to Indiana right away. Sprewell was playing with a broken bone in his foot which happened when Rick Carlisle tripped him in game 2. Chris Child's was battling the flu from games 4 - 6 and wasn't 100%. Finally, Marcus Camby was battling an injured leg from game 2 all the way to the end of the series but continued to play. He was st 50%. I thought Sprewell did a good job on Reggie but the Knicks were just injured. Bad luck again.
Gamers Club I hear you and you are right they were banged up and you could see they ran out of steam in that game. However, you gotta double team a player when he is hot like Miller was. It’s sad to see that they traded Ewing in the offseason, they would have been better off keeping him and making him retire two years later. If they did win that series, I don’t know if they would have had it in them to beat that Laker team.
WHY WASN'T THIS IN THE 30 FOR 30....??????
If only the Pacers could've faced the Blazers that year, Miller would've gotten his one and only ring. The Blazers were known to choke up leads late in the game, and having to face such a clutch shooter like Miller with the game on the line, it would've been lights out. But the Pacers saw the Lakers and I knew they weren't good enough to stop Shaq and Kobe in their prime.
SP personally think the blazers would win in 6 or 7 but it would’ve been one hell of a series. The matchups would’ve been entertaining as hell
pippen vs miller would of been cool to see in 2000 without mj
No way the Pacers would be a stacked Blazers team
Pacers shoulda beat the Lakers. A lot of bs calls. 8t was love/Shaw's 1st ring & the league was pushing them hard as the new Marquee stars. Ask C web how hard it was 2 beat those teams.
I don't know about that Sheed, Bonzi, Pippen, and Steve Smith are all matchup nightmares. I could see that series 6 games at the most.
Life long Knick fan. Reggie lit H20 ass up this series. But in 99 it was the other way around. Houston took Miller to school. This was Reggie’s time.
True....'98 Miller gave it to Houston.... so they went back and forth
I'm Reggie Miller fan but I do have a lot of respect for Houston and think he is one of the most underrated shooters of all time. I'm not trying to diss Starks because Starks was good and fiesty but Houston was a huge upgrade. Not to mention I actually did think Sprewell was the perfect compliment because he was a slasher who could shoot. If they would have had Houston and Sprewell in Ewing's prime they would have won a championship.
@@zeaferjones1404yeah but I wouldn't phrase "Houston being upgrade for starks".....bcuz starks and Houston played together for 2 full yrs .... It was spree that replaced starks ....and camby replaced Oakley......camby was a BEAST in the 99ecf and then sucked in this series.....
@@brianwilliams6167 Ok I would say Spree is a little less of an upgrade to Starks. I prefer Starks leadership but Sprewell was insanely talented he could shoot and drive equally well so he was a hard guy to guard. He was pretty much a Michael Jordan type player without the Michael Jordan mentality.
@@brianwilliams6167 Also you bring up a great point. I think if the 94 Knicks team had Spree and Houston, they would have won the championship easily because Patrick Ewing was in his prime. However, one thing I forgot about is I do prefer Oakley and Anthony Mason over Camby and LJ.
Reggie was the first to do the stop n shoot 3
“Reggie Miller with another dagger!!”
Idk how many times I heard that growing up in the 90’s and 2000’s….
Then got blatantly CHEATED out by the Lakers in the finals because it was the new millennium and they were shippin “Hollywood” and the Kobe and Shaq duo hard af. The refs literally took LA by the hand and drug them to the chip trophy that year. The Pacers shoulda won in ‘99 and 2000 both. No way Reggie should’ve retired ringless.
Wow the quality of this video is spot on! 💯
This Pacers team was probably not as good as their 1998 team that pushed the Bulls to 7 but it was their last shot at getting to the Finals and I was always glad they got their opportunity even though there was no way they were beating the Lakers. They did fight like hell in that series though.
they were the biggest challenge to the 3-peat Lakers.
@@JSwanKilowJ NO QUESTION......consider this
1 shot....(miller gw three in game 4)
1 quarter....(Indiana won the first three quarters in game 6)
1 shot and 1 quarter......thats all
@@brianwilliams6167 yeah they needed that game 4. arguably Miller's best performance of the finals, and it resulted in a lost.
He was extremely dangerous playing off the ball...the way he used picks/bodies to evade his defender was just beautiful
2000 pacers were led by jalen rose..rick smits dale davis sam perkins marc jackson and reggie miller get too much credit for this team....austin croshere and jalen rose killed it all playoffs long on offense..thats why they made it to 2 wins of a title.....lets be honest....
@@razkable Okay I'll be honest...ITS A VIDEO ABOUT REGGIE MILLER lol great that they had a solid cast of players but I did not come to here to see highlights from ANY of the guys you mentioned lol
The next time these two franchises met would not be until 2013 crazy!
Incredible quality on the video. Nice upload.
Back when NBA was worth watching.
Knicks had Reggie Jordan problems throughout the 90s
True true....but the ONE series they def shuldve won was the 94 finals....
Dominate defense....
Was up 3-2
And john starks had scored 16 points in the fourth quarter of game 6.....That last shot WAS going in....
Derek Harper was awesome in that series and Patrick ewing was a DEFENSIVE beast....idk how they lost...."white bronco dammit"....LOL
5:35 that same line is heard at the beginning of America's Game 2006 Colts.
This quality is SUPER HIGH for 21 year old footage
Miller from three!
5:30 Larry bird was like i won too many of these lol
He had a huge a back problem, that’s why he didn’t say long time... 😉
Five Knicks fans disliked this vid... or Spike Lee made four alt accounts to dislike five times.
This game turned out to be Patrick Ewing's final game as a knick in which he got traded to Seattle & sadly the Knicks been sorta curse since then which they only made the playoffs 5x in the last 17 years
They made some bad transfers : Marbury, Francis, Hardaway, James... and prorogate : Allan Houston...
dont forget eddie curry quintin richardson amare stoudamire carmelo anthony tyson chandler joakim noah and zach randolph @@TheDignam
3:18...a beautiful double screen set by Perkins to free up Miller for the 3!
beast
Love how Bird just walks off like act like you’ve been there.
He had huge back problems for his health, that's why he didn't stay long time…
Love the Pacers coach's reaction 5:31
pacers coach?..thats larry bird lol....
He had huge back problems for his health, that's why he didn't stay long time…
Spike Lee's misery never gets old.
17 in the 4th qrt.......the Knicks as a team scored 18 in that same qrt
for those knicks that was an improvement..the 99-2000 knicks could not score to save their lives
99 Knicks without Ewing were better
@@supervegito8513 Better? Maybe yes maybe no....but Def. we're hungrier in 99.....they constantly counted out all yr long and van gundy was bout ta lose his job and they played that whole postseason with the "IDGAF" attitude
2k put Reggie miller and big dawg Glenn Robinson in the damn game I’m tired of playing with incomplete all time teams on 2k 😤😓
I used to use Glenn Robinson all the time in the original 2K. I used him mainly because he was a SF that never missed. Also Reggie is my favorite player so of course I used him a lot. Everyone says Golden State is the best shooting team of all time but I think there are a lot of other things like defense and passing that made Golden State really good. In terms of pure shooting I've never seen a team like the late 90's and early 00's Bucks with Sam Cassel, Ray Allen and Glenn Robinson. Those guys hardly missed an outside shot. They just needed some inside players besides Darvin Ham and Earvin Johnson(not Magic).
I don't know who killed the Knicks more out of Mike, Reggie, Kobe or LeBron
Mike and Reggie, because most of Patrick Ewing losses was to bulls and pacers courtesy Reggie and Mike
Everyone killed the Knicks after Jordan and Miller left the game. Kobe and LeBron were just part of the circus! Lol
@@drlee2 Lol
People dont know….he was 35!
Really??
The Knicks were better without Ewing against Indiana
Knicks? Eastern conference finals? Strange times
Dale Davis the 9 fingered man
Larry Bird not happy coz ECF trophy is no mean a thing.
Muy buen tirador pero muy mala persona ;)
No, he's a nice guy
They had the lamest celebration ever lmao
Damn... reggie wasn havin it
I hated the Knicks lost this game. I boycotted the Finals and hoped I’d never see the Pacers in the Finals again…streak’s still going 23 years and I’ve watched every Finals game since. Lol
