I can’t believe Omni Man said this. When Omni Man finally returns to earth after leaving it during Season 1, we see Mark first checking on his mother since it’s been 10 months since he was home, however when Mark has to leave it’s finally time for the awkward conversation between Nolan and Debbie, as Omni Man starts off the conversation not with I’m sorry, but instead by telling Debbie he’s disappointed that she took a new mate, while she cries telling him he’s a hypocrite. For a second Cecil walks through a Light Door and fires on Omni Man thinking he’s an enemy, but after they shush him away Debbie makes some coffee and sits down with Omni Man, who tells Debbie that he wishes he could just show her how much he missed her, as she tells him that she left her ex boyfriend Paul when she saw him last time because things just felt wrong, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to just come back to him now that he’s home. It’s here where Nolan tells her she just needs to understand, and Debbie screams that she doesn’t need to understand anything, because he ruined her life, and she just wants things to go back to how they were before, which makes Omni Man say that things will NEVER go back to how they were before, because he’ll never lie to Debbie again. Are you rooting for them?

The thing is, she is basically a pet from the perspective of a Viltrumite. The lifespan, the strength , a human is the equivalent of a hamster at best. And i do feel like Omniman, didnt feel like it in the show anyway. She means something to him, but what he said was from the perspective of a Viltrumite, to make Mark understand how things actually are, what their people are, even if he himself didn't feel like that anymore.

I think the point is there aren't many who could do anything and those who can don't really hate him. Allen and invincible side with omniman and who else could do anything to him really. He's just lucky Spawn didn't have a problem with him. A lot of the other characters we see being cannon in the boys comics aren't really that strong but Spawn couldve literally taken on every threat that's shown in invincible without breaking a sweat.

Funk101 according to the timeskip it’s been like 10 months because of Mark first beginning college and the city repairs. Plus Thraxa goes faster than earth does so that may be what you’re going by.

Mark was helping during the viltrumite war. This is why we see Mark standing next to Nolan in this clip, and why it took more than 10 months for Nolan to reunite with his wife.

@@devinwatkins8953Can't say personally for the comic, but from someone who enjoys the show, I have to say that that guy is correct: It IS poorly written and directed. Second season has very poor dialogue and animation, clearly saving budget for the action scenes, which it does right. The montages are also done right. The overarching plot and world building have been enough for me to keep interest, and as long as they don't stray too far from the source material they should be safe, but many aspects, including character development, are really struggling. It's a bit of a shame tho, a lot of potential wasted.
Like them complety glossing over Amber and Mark's argument with no actual resolution in season 2? Yea good luck with that man. If there's anything to criticize now with this show it's character development and writing. The pacing is off as they are rushing to get to the Thragg plotline so any writing between now and then are going to suffer as a result. I except plenty more rushed plotpoints from comics before the show settles into an actual groove again like in season 1.

I couldn't blame him much for it since it was the viltrumites lifestyle and nature to do what they do, but that is still a bit too fucked up, either choice she makes is right
The thing is, the story tells us that this isn't the nature of Viltrumites. The Viltrumites are like this as a result of a civil war fueled by a desire for power by elites in their society.
The whole point of Omni-mans characterization is to show, in tandem with Mark's, that Viltrumites don't have to be this way and that they can change.
He was really trying to get himself to THINK in viltrumite morals, because in the end he did love earth and his family, and when he left to travel blindly in space he almost commited suicide in a black hole
The viltrumite lifestyle and nature is also hyper genocidal. Blame the game, but also the player holds responsibility for choosing to accept it

The show makes them being back together easier to tolerate because you can Hear and See how hesitant nolan is to fully embrace what he's supposed to think and what he was supposed to do and feel as a viltrumite.
He felt guilty, because he wanted to embrace the life he'd found and shared, but his sense of duty was so strong and so indoctrinated (and i think if they gave an episode or some more flashbacks to show that it would help even more) that he still couldn't shake it.
Paul really be out there jumping the multiverse, stealing Spider-man’s and Omni-man’s girl, damn !
I always enjoyed the idea of Nolan being with a Thraxan because they are opposites in terms of life span. Which is a point Nolan tried hard to make to Mark because of how long they live for. Then he goes and cares for a creature that at its longest span, is only a year of life. I think that changed him a lot on appreciating life and the time you have with those around you.

The thing that really shows how true of a viltrumite Nolan is, is the fact he never starts off with I’m sorry to Mark and Debbie after meeting them again. He definitely feels sorry because he unlearned his violent nature, but his upbringing never made him someone who could admit his faults at first.

Truth is, Omni-man - Nolan - isn't the same as he was when he first came to Earth on his mission. He does have genuine feelings that run contrary yo his viltrumite ideals but unfortunately, Nolan is strong willed, dedicated and above all, a Viltrumite raised on Viltrum so the human feelings we might have seen a glimpse of are easily overruled by many lifetimes of Viltrumite indoctrination. However, as we see later on, he's not completely a lost cause.
But the damage and death left in Omni-man's betrayal -or rather reveal - does deserve justice which never really gets addressed.

Have t watched the show or read the comics, but how can they get to this point of talking civilly with Nolan after he killed all those people at the end of season 1?
Well, you forget that t'he públic never forgives him, earth will always remember what he did for almost 3 gens, but Deb and Mark, where the people that grow up as human beings with him, that taught him how to feel things like, love, companionship and appreciation, a dad will always be a dad and in the rest of the show he does reflect on his actions, he appreciates "lesser" lifeforms and grows a heart, he regains what his race lost due to their almost unweaving lifespan, becoming that his real nature, just as the other viltrumites, and that's what mark and deb grow to know, that the real Nolan was the one they saw during their 20 years together, not what he show them the day he left to trhaggsa
Bc this man is incredibly dangerous and offering him some semblance of forgiveness so he can aid their cause is the smart thing to do rather than exile or attempt to kill him just so he can go back and get more Viltrumites.
