    Great video! You male it look easy! Just got a 4" with springs for my 90 k5. Got the transfer case drop brackets along with sway bar drop. How does the transfer case drop brackets work to drop down the transfer case if it's bolted to the transmission? Confused how it works I guess. Thanks in advance.

      Why do you need to lower the transfer case?

      First, I have never had to drop the tcase with a 4 inch lift. But to answer your question the small drop just drops the cross member an inch or so and tips the motor back slightly

    I did most of my rear lift last night. I came back to your video and has to see if your rear eyelet was about an inch short of the floppy shackle hole. Glad to see it was the same way. Also I wanted to see your rear U bolts. Mine were so long that I drove them on with air of course. Until they came out of the deep well socket then i had to cut 2" off the top in order to put my deep well back on. Then I tightened it up and still had about 1.5" sticking up. I almost ran out of thread in the rear. They came in the same box and bag as yours did. I have a feeling these were for a kit that was using a lift block. But did you ever figure out what the two thin cheesy angle brackets were for, and the straight bracket with two different size holes? Mine are probably going into the trash unless you know what they are.

      I suspect some how they are intended to relocate brake lines but I am not sure. Pretty sure ours went in the metal pile lol

      Enjoyed your videos on this. I just finished my rough country 4” lift on an ‘84 square body. I’m noticing that the rear is a little higher than the front. I was under the impression the front and back would be level. Did u have this problem as well?

      @@keithmiller5902 My rear is about an inch or so higher than the front too. I have a bed on it but it hasn't left the garage yet. Work in progress still.

    Did you ever find out what the bushings were for? I think that they are for the rear shackles? I’m wanting to change them while I have the leaf springs out…

    Currently installing this kit on my 78 k20. Did you have to put transfer case drop brackets in or any drop brackets for sway bar? Mines a long box aswell was just curious if you had any handling issues after the installation.

      We did not install a drop on Tcase or the sway bar. I have done a few of these 4 inch kits in Square bodies without either and had good luck

    Hey good morning, I have a questions if you don't mind, what size tires are you running with that lift? I have an '85 K10 that I would like to put 33's on but I keep hearing that the 4" RC lift comes out to close to 6 inches when it done, is that true? And thanks for doing this video and commenting along the way without any music

      It is hard to say the over all lift as this truck had a 2 ish inch old lift in it but my experience the 4 inch really is only 4 inches, It may look more like 6 as clapped out old stock springs sag a bit. We chose to go with 33x12.5x15s , we probably could have gotten away with 35s but we didnt want to push it.

      That's great, thank you, I didn't want it too high and have the tires look small and I really didn't want to go any taller than 33's, thanks again

    I just installed my lift and the rear passenger side sits way higher then the rear driver side not sure why

    • @aroundthehomesteadwithsuer3497
      @aroundthehomesteadwithsuer3497  Před rokem

      Define "Way" higher? I know some springs are arched a little more on one side to compensate for the gas tank but it is usually very little.

    • @weman5390
      @weman5390 Před rokem

      I figured it out the shackle was loose and moved with the weight of the truck
