This entire scene made me feel like a kid again. Everything was just so whimsical that it reminded me of when I use to look at the world like that. I had a warm feeling throughout the entire scene. I wish I could erase my memory of this part and see it over and over again. I miss being a kid.
I'm gonna make this my alarm in the morning so I wake up in a great mood every day 😀
Same...i felt light as a feather watching
You can always be a Kid✨
with a curious mind?
Here is the wonder we used to feel back when the magic was real?
Timothee has such a great voice! Very soothing and gentle.
Yeah
Soooo trueee :3
It's like... Chocolate
Yes but his Voice is sweet
Your tune might change when you hear the Dylan biopic next year 😂💯💯
I never imagined that Timothée could sing so beautifully. All the songs are amazing! Bravo!
pure talent
You can hear him singing in Sweet Charity on stage, right here on CZcams. It's been available for years.
@@AbcDef-ww2gy Yes, of course, I've heard him in Sweet Charity, and his Tiny Horse, I know he can sing. But in Wonka, I think it's a completely different level of how he does it. I'm not a musician or an expert, but his voice here reminds me of songs from old movies, so gentle and enchanting.
I can’t believe his singing myself
The auto-tune is extremely obvious...
Without a doubt, this movie is one of the best things of this year
True
Absolutely agree ❤It was magical
Not only that, my favourite movie in YEARS
I loved it, and phoey to all the ppl mad that it's not based on the silly Tim Burton movie 😆 🙄
My favorite movie tied for first with the Mario movie
I'm so glad this is up for an award for Original Song. So catchy and enjoyable. Timothee Chalamet is a great singer
Ryan Gosling performing I'm Just Ken, Jack Black performing Peaches, and Timothee Chalamet performing A World Of Your Own will be the Oscars' peak
@@15Candlesnobody will vote for Super Mario. It won't be nominated.
@@15Candlesnot really peak. Remember, there was a year when Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli performed the same night when Whitney and Mariah did as well. ❤
It’s tight competition between this and I’m Just Ken
I cant choose between Wonka and Barbie. Because they both seemed crazy on paper but the star power and creativity behind the camera are what made the beautiful finished products they’ve become.
My wife and I saw this because we missed the movie we planned on. I went in thinking I'd have to suffer through it, and came out completely blown away. I genuinely laughed, the songs are perfect, and the whole thing is so magical. It's my new happy movie
"Embrace the Unknown." Nice bit of foreshadowing for one of Wonka's future villains there.
Dang, I was about to make that joke but you beat me to it! 🤣
WOT. IS. THAT
(((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))
what villains what did i miss
I hope this song gets nominated at the Oscars next year. Chalamet performing this live would be AMAZING.
*Edit: Ah, such a shame...*
I NEED to see this ❤
@@n0ta_cat797 Don't we all? 😄
Nominations announcement January 23, 2024
@@RaymondHng Fingers crossed.
The Oscars failed me last year. They didn’t give A SINGLE award to the film Elvis. It had 8 nominations and I was waiting to see Austin Butler win Best Actor for his portrayal of Elvis Presley…he totally deserved it more than any other actor that year, in my opinion. I hope Timothee at least gets nominated!
This scene really embodied the "All is right with the world" feeling, which is impressive considering the desolate scene that plays beforehand. This movie is incredible.
and then the yeti sweat...
@@notyetimnot406 absolutely. The movie is like a master of mixing and changing emotions in the viewer.
@@thenecromancer4113 I wonder if wonka ever got his shop back after it burnt down...
@@notyetimnot406The thing is the movie seems to have an open interpretation not prologue, the story seems to be leading up to this Wonka being the Gene Wilder Wonka but it seems to have his own things going on and since it already ended, the ending already leads to his factory's creation, when this part was supposed to be after his competitors stealing his recipe
agreed,
2023 has really shown that movies can be so amazing without having superheroes in them and this is easily the perfect closer
Every year since the beginning of cinema has shown that.
@@kassiogomes8498You’ve got to be deliberately missing my point. It’s no secret that superhero cinema has dominated theatre audiences and mainstream movie goers, especially post Covid. With movies like Barbie, Oppenheimer, KOTFM and Wonka, it’s showing that studios can make big tentpoles that don’t follow the same formula and trends
True!!! But…. I’m still gonna see Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom🤭
@@harriwithani9203no. You said that in 2023 studios made amazing films that aren't superhero films. That's totally different from saying that studios didn't make non-superhero tentpoles films.
If we talking about quality, we had great non-superhero films since the beginning of cinema.
If we are talking box office are wrong anyway. Barbie and Oppenheimer were indeed box office his but Killers isn't and neither is Wonka.
Well it’s bad year to use superhero films as an example,
7 superhero films
5 flops
Shazam 2
The flash
Blue beetle
Antman 3
The marvels
1 success
Guardians 3
1 TBD
Aqua man 2
Timothee has a lovely voice. Very Broadway-esque. And this song is like a Disney song mixed with that 60s pop rock sound, I love it.
A live-action musical with real singing talent and no autotune. Love it.
Actually there was autotune! But it was a great film nonetheless!
@FreyTheGay yea I think he means no unrealistic autotune or reverb.
Big dawg, every song you hear has autotune of some sort unless it's a garage band
I work at a theater and I’ve heard this song like 7 times today and I still love it.
“Wherever life takes you” idk why that line makes me cry
Because we DON'T know where it will take us.
That's what makes it beautiful
🙂🌈⭐💕
That line makes me cry too
My heart LINE is "all the colors of the rainbow..... And some others too!" Cause i'm LGBT+ boy ❤
The line i love is “a place to escape tooo” 🥺🥺
It's been a really long long time since we have pure magical kiddy kind of film which brings tons of heartwarming and coziness, thank youuuu
We live in such a cynical world these days!
World really needs a little of this!
Oh what a lovely cinematic ride it was to watch this witty, fantastic fantasy piece of cinema packed with one of the best pieces of set design, Timotheé Chalamet singing, direction, story, everything.
This is an absolute thrill ride that makes you cry, laugh, dream all packed in a 2hr+ movie.
Couldn't ask for a better movie to end my journey to the cinemas for 2023.
I hope people make more of this stuff.
Love everyone who made this movie, it was just perfect.
Okay i gotta go now, to listen to timotheé singing on loop for Wonka.
Didnt think I would say this… but this has got to be the best movie of the year. Sorry I doubted you, Wonka. ❤
Awwwwww❤️
I agree it’s great but Across the Spiderverse EXISTS y’know
@@The-j-esteragreed....the Spiderverse films were amazing, but this movie took me back to being a kid....such a wonderful experience
@@The-j-esterWhat a joke, bro XDDDDDDDDD
Not for me, but definitely in my top 10
The whole time in the theater I was smiling so wide during this song and it just makes you feel so happy. It’s so broadway esque it’s so catchyyyyyy
One of the highlights of the film! This song with the accompanying set piece was fantastic!
If Neil Hannon doesn't get an Oscar nomination (if not an Oscar win!) for these incredible songs, the there is something wrong with the world! The quirkiest lyrics, the most toe-tapping, catchy tunes on screen in years and songs that make you smile like a kid again. I am a massive fan of the Divine Comedy and this film soundtrack is amongst his greatest work. When I listen to these songs, I know that this is a charmed life...
I cried happy tears throughout. Neil and Joby have done it again. The soundtrack is like a walk through DC back catalogue with all the showtime bits put in a collage. Even this song ends same as Imaginary Friend and has be high kicking like Have you ever been in love.
Even as a huge Timothee fan, his singing surprised me. It’s so soothing!
This song is amazing and the movie was incredible. It managed to perfectly capture the magic of the Gene Wilder original. I'm buying it on DVD the moment it's on the shelf.
I never liked the original movie. This was my favorite movie all year. I can count on one hand the movies I enjoyed enough to want to watch a second time, and this movie has achieved that. An instant classic in my book!
I'm getting it on DVD the moment it hits the shelves too 😁
@@cecerumsey7095 Hopefully get one of those blu-ray/DVD/4K combos they sell and keep one copy and gift the other two to friends.
Me too! Such a great feeling! The Gene Wilder is one of my favorites. I never cared for the Tim Burton version.
@@billsandiego3385 The Tim Burton one was interesting- I liked a lot of it. It was more imaginative and less whimsical but yes, the original one with Gene is still the absolute best. This prequel, however, I didn't think we needed it but I was very wrong. Wonka is everything a Disney movie used to be and should be now.
I swear if Timothée doesn’t keep doing musicals I will die , his voice is amazing ❤
This is very Neil Hannon with the horns and happy-go-lucky jazzy vibes. He really nailed it with a similar singing style as well! Love it ❤
Yessss❤😍
I hope I get to hear Neil sing it one day! To hear music by Neil and Joby is just such a treat.
@@aliriley1112 I believe he did! That’s what happens the original artist will sing it and send it to the production company and they give it to Timmy and he hears it and then records it :)
Love Neil's work. Fun fact. My Da was in the same School at the same time as Neil Hannon. Portora royal School in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. Though Neil was a few years above him
@@rorymoore9269 aww that’s lovely ❤️ his voice is incredible
I really hope the song gets nominated at the Oscars! I know it’s already been submitted for consideration. But after seeing the movie yesterday, I have my fingers crossed. I love Timothee’s singing as well as the chocolate shop set! Kudos to Nathan Crowley the production designer! I also love the nod to Pure Imagination!
Glad you enjoyed the film! It's even better on a re-watch, as I have found out.
@@AbcDef-ww2gy Oh really?
@@AbcDef-ww2gy I need to see it again, I love films where there is so much to visually enjoy and so full of wit that you can't take it all in in one viewing- like Barbie too
@@louisat470 And Wonka is just as wonderful as Barbie
Has sort of a 60’s folk song feel. Love it so much!
Such a warm, wonderful song. It's a shame it's immediately followed by the most heartbreaking scene in the movie.
This sounds so much like a Beatles song! Love it.
And abba
Ditto!!!!!!! Exactly!!!!!!
Absolutely love this song from this fantastic prequal.
Timothée Chalamet is a brillant new actor and I love his singing voice. He was brilliant as Wonka
This man has the voice of an ANGEL
Just saw the movie yesterday and it was amazing!!! I never heard Timothee Chalamet sing🎤 until now and I gotta say he has a beautiful voice! He did an amazing job portraying the main character!! 🎩🍫The colours, costumes, production design, and cinematography, is INCREDIBLE!! 👏👏👏✨✨ Definitely a must to see!! 4/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I give it 4/5 stars too. I didn’t expect anything special or mediocre! I’m a tough but fair critic
Listen to Timothee singing Tiny Horse, right here on CZcams. Also, watch his stage performance in Sweet Charity (he sings at the end of the video).
My favorite song from the movie, definitely!
I honestly dont remember the last time a modern movie uplifted me so much....
I just got out of the cinema. I expected it to be so generic and a ripoff but it was amazing. Like I sang along to everything. I loved it.
Ha! 😈
Now I want a rereleased version of the movie with a sing along!
Same I was surprised and Timothy chalamet voice is amazing and soothing 😊
A movie that has managed to not destroy the franchise it’s trying to be like truly an achievement in this day and era
I feel this movie brought back some real acting. Everyone was impressive and what a great cast! Never really knew who Timothée was but he did really great pulling this role off this and filling Gene Wilder shoes.
To be honest I went into this movie expecting to hate it but ended up with a huge smile on my face
One of the best movies of 2023. Love how it adds that the reason he has the candy forest was an homage to when he made the shop with his friends
yeah, my favorite thing in prequels is when they give a cool reason for a thing being there in the original, really makes you view the original thing a different way
Gene: the disturbed Wonka
Johnny: the very disturbed Wonka
Timothy: the Genuinely nice Wonka
Unfortunately, the genuinely nice Wonka turns into the disturbed Wonka.
@@Ninjakirbo nah, he is far too sweet and adorable for that. I just see it as there is three different versions of the character
@@reyisnotamarysue1195 I bet he had some sort of trauma and became the disturbed wonka
@galaxitee you beat me to it
Gene: Crazy
Johnny: Crazy from daddy issues
Timothy: Not crazy yet. But soon...
one of my fav songs of the movie....my gooooosh Timmy is so talented ❤❤❤ He has a very soothing and calming voice. I can sleep and at the same time dance with his voice. I love him. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think that at this point in the movie me and my girlfriend where just astonished of that warm feeling and pure joy that this emitted. I really felt like a kid holding on to that dream I used to have. Such a wonderfull movie
This proves Timothy as a versatile artist. And this will help Dune 2 do even better come March 1st. Where that role is so drastically different from Wonka. Amazing and legendary career already. Hopefully he keeps his career clean, no silly scandals to ruin it.
Well, after watching Beautiful Boy, we know for certain he will never get addicted to drugs!
(RIP Heath Ledger, River Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, etc, all talented actors we tragically lost to drug-related accidents.)
@@AbcDef-ww2gyI’d like to see him get away from the Kardashians.
@@BathtubLovingGuy Absolutely, but I think he is already distancing himself, which is why you never see them together on red carpets, and he has never confirmed anything with words. He knows he made a mistake getting close to them, but he still has to maintain a friendship, because that's a powerful family.
I’ve been a fan of him since Little Woman! I’ve also seen Interstellar (I didn’t know he was in it), Call Me By Your Name, Lady Bird and Dune Part One
People say he is the new Johnny Deep (in some ways than other) while i can see that i think he is more like Jake Gyllenhaal, where he started playing normal everyday character before playing weird ones to extended his range. Deep always played weird characters since his carrer started
A reminder of my childhood!
Saw this film yesterday. Honestly WAY better than i expected
I love the entire soundtrack, but there’s something about this song that makes me smile ❤
this should be nominated at the oscars not just barbie and Timothee could open the ceremony performing this, that will be beyond amazing
Chalamet never had a chance of portraying a version of Wonka half as insane as Wilder's or goofily eccentric as Depp's, but I think he found a great spot to settle in as his very own version of the character
this movie is so pure that made me feel like a kid again with full of hope
This song was the one that identified me the most. It made me cry, because a simple song; their music and lyrics make and made me feel safer and that everything will be fine in my life with their words (i'm 22), than my own parents...
Forget everything I have
Forget everything I’ve lost
Forget everything I desire
Forget everything I hate
Just a joyful kid and the movie he enjoys
Even for a short while
This movie was such a delight. Bravo to everyone who made it possible!
Amazing song my daughter loves it. Auto tune or not it was a perfect score for this perfect musical.
This year has proved a movie does not have to be an intense action movie with superhero's or animated but a movie with a problem that has to be solved. Barbie, Wonka and Oppenheimer.
Godzilla too!
This was my favorite song in the movie! I was tapping my feet like crazy during it! I think it should be nominated for Best Original Song at next year's Oscars
I love this song smmmmmm 💓💓💓. Timmy's voice is Incredible
This song has been stuck in my brain for weeks now 😅
I've seen the movie twice!
This is like a new Divine Comedy single, only with a different singer. It's fantastic and one of the highlights of the movie (another is "You've Never Had Chocolate Like This.")
I'm soooo proud of Neil Hannon!!!! 😍I've been a fan of The Divine Comedy's music for years...
I wish to hear Neil himself sing the songs he wrote for the movie.
Timothee was absolutely amazing! This movie was so warming and such a fun film
Wonka 2023: (has some great songs that could've gotten the movie at least one or two Oscar nominations for Best Original Song)
The Oscars: "You get NOTHING!!"
Next year surely?
A place to escape to,this musical, a world of our own...
I loved this movie so much, its been a looooooooong time since I’ve wanted to not only see a movie in theaters right away, but also go and see it AGAIN!!!
His voice is so beautiful😔 Timothee IS beautiful😭💗
The old man who walks into the shop with Wonka is Geoff from Coronation Street
And people say Jack Black makes the best cameos
i've never been more excited for a movie to come out of theatres, this movie was so sweet and I was smiling through the entire movie
WE’RE OPENING A CHOCOLATE STORE WITH THIS ONE!!🔥🔥🔥
This song is honestly amazing it needs more recognition
I know Gene Wilder would be proud, Timothee is amazing.♥️
I can hear Hannon in every line. Stunning arrangement.
My fav is Charlie and the chocolate factory with Johnny Deep but this movie is great!! I love how he can make you feel all this emotions, its a very beautiful movie super recomended. You will laugh and cry
Everything about this song makes me happy
This song is giving me vibes from Hamilton's "You'll Be Back", and I love it.
YES.
I went in to this movie with no expectations and left thinking that timothee really did an excellent Wonka. It was just a fun watch and probably one of my favorite modern musicals.
I really loved this film. Paul King is a great director.
Warner Bros. submitted the original song "A World of Your Own" performed by Chalamet, composed by Hannon and written by King and Farnaby, as a contender for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 96th Academy Awards.

Stunned by Wonka
9/12/2023 HK
Lot's of people on the internet have been trash talking this movie.
There was a "Moon" video essay about why it is everything wrong with Hollywood, but that is completely false. I think this movie is amazing, it doesn't take the easy way out like most hollywood movies now a days. Marvel, Disney, Universal, Star Wars become big budget failures, then you have Warner bros. coming out with Dune Part Two, and Wonka. Two amazing movies with so much creativity, also you have Dreamworks (That unfortunately dropped Kung Fu Panda 4 and Megamind 2) that is coming out with The Wild Robot.
These big studios have made many mistakes, but let's just hope they can make up for it with these insanely talented people behind the scenes.
Disney released gotg 4 and universal literally had mario and oppenheimer..
Timothee did awesome this movie is my favorite ever
After seeing Timothée Chalamet in Dune, I was surprised to see how awesome he can sing in Wonka.
At first I dont think Timothee himself singing for the movie. Quite surprised. He sang beautifully 😅
Some people say there is auto tune 🤷♂️
I wasn't sure about this movie going in, but I absolutely loved it, and this was my favorite song.
Timothee Chalamat is so talented
The excellent lyrics of all songs of Wonka with majestic choreography are now in my and my family's favorite collection of melodious songs🎶🫶🤗💙
Everything is so majestic about this movie.
When things start falling apart , these songs ,this movie ,this character gives me courage to keep going.
Believe in self and in your dreams🌷✨
Thanks Timothee,Mr Wonka 🤗💙

Sung melodiously by Timothee 🤗✨
Beautiful lyrics by Neil Hannon / Paul King / Simon Farnaby🤗✨
“Too late, I’ve started dancing now. Once we’ve started, we can’t stop.”
“ Then why didn’t you stop me?! I may have drifted off.” - my fav lines
Neil’s Beatles influence coming through on this one. This sounds like a lost song from the Sgt. Pepper or Magical Mystery Tour era.
Made me feel like a kid again! What a beatiful movie 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
This song for me is too special and makes my cry a stream of tears, over topping an ocean of desolation, reminding me of the joy that I have experienced in my childhood. Oh how I yonder for my childhood, the ignorant bliss, a world full of possibility and limitless imagination. I miss the simple times. When did I grow up? A timeless performance by Timothée Chalamet! A magnificent master piece! My deepest of gratitude to the creators of Wonka. I will not listen to this song again except for when I want to feel like a child again.
The move made me feel like a kid again
You know with all the bees wax of movies of 2023 that Disney and some other companies made where absolute dog water to watch, it was heart warming to watch this in cinemas I swear I had this goofy grin the entire time watching, Wonka is no doubt one of the best movies of this year because it dose what people have been actually telling Disney to do for ages, tells an entertaining story that is not sacrificing for a massage that a soulless company dose not care about, so with a big smile I give this film a 10/10 if you what a movie that will make you smile throughout the whole thing, this is that movie.
What an awesome song!!!
Timothee Chalamet has amazing talent!!!
So happy I watched this movie. Such a wonderful time. Every song was great and the acting was perfection.
Love this movie so much, like everyday I wake up I think of the song, and start singing and dancing out of my bedroom😂 literally in love with this movie. Love all of his songs who agrees 👇👇
The first time he sings he the song he first sing "a world of your own" addressed to his mom because he still believed she would really he beside her then when the rest of his crew joined the song he switched to "a world of our own" addressing his mom but also all his freinds who helped him get to that point then later in the movie when he sings again he gose straight to singing "a world of our own" because he appreciates his crew and the help they gave him when he needed it most
It’s also a foreshadow of the secret to making the Wonka bar.
Apparently Paul King and Simon Farnaby co-wrote this song with Neil Hannon. This just to show that both are masterful at writing a piece of art 🙌
The last time I saw the director and screenwriters actually do the soundtrack was Smallfoot with the Kirkpatrick brothers
yeah it seemed to be a really organic collaborative writing process from the very beginning, which I just think is so cool. And they’re mutually fans of each other’s work, I saw Neil last year for a series of gigs and Paul King was there too lol
Loved Simon Farnaby in Horrible Histories and Ghosts!!
I love this song so much!! I work at the cinema and when the credits roll and we clean i sing it the loudest i can!
As a patron I stay in my seat so I can sing it out loud hahaha
This song makes me longing for a place where Mr. Wonka shares his chocolates, kindness, and magics. If only such a place does really exist 🙂🙂
Theater is best place to hear these songs, was a Broadway musical for me
I cried near the end when she found her mom 😭
I just saw this movie on Sunday and already have this entire song memorized 😂😂
