Swede can be upset as they 99.9% chance of winning and frame by frame and not in real time, it was a controversial goal. But be aware that nobody complained against it.
But let's not pretend they did not have major break as well. First half a guy walked 6 steps scored a goal. Second half middle defender climbs on the back of Fabregas, not two minutes and disallowed goals for a penalty.
Defender stepping on porte, porte was hurt and no foul, no two minutes.
So many zone defense, it was uncountable and then only penalties.
Konan taking two minutes while 3 minutes earlier exact same thing happened on remili and nothing.
So yes Swedes can be disappointed but let's not pretend referees were one sided.

One of the greatest robberies I have ever seen in a handball game. Utterly disgraceful from the referees to a degree where you start wondering if they were paid for match fixing.
    1. Not using the VAR on the last throw
    2. Not giving the offensive foul by the french player right before the last free throw
    3. Giving a very questionable foot fault to Gottfridsson on the disallowed goal before the last free throw
    4. Giving France the throw-in which is clearly out by a french foot with no swedish player in close proximity where Sweden is 2 goals up a minute before the game ends.
Thousands of people at home could see the obvious faults but the referees could not.
France played a great game but this match should've gone to Swedens favor without any doubt. I seriously hope they take this as an example to look over the rules and also investigate the referees who will be the same ones in charge of the final game as well.

But in other instances, and that s true in all sports, it just seems to add to the tension and anger. So I think I d prefer the immediate ref call. When we teach handball to kids, respecting the ref (even if they whistle like crap 😂) is paramount. I believe that s what makes our sport free of violence against refs. I am very concerned if handball fans start getting too angry. We ve seem too many refs resigning in rugby recently, in great part due to the VAR. Bad refereeing overall and especially at the end which is detrimental to Sweden and I'm french. My main grievance is about the ball out from Remili it's so obvious that at first I tought they decided it was a foul so gave the ball back to France but no.
After there is traveling from the swedish player he shot between his fourth and fifth step so I'm not bothered with that decision and then the shot from Prandi which is debatable at best probably shouldn't have been allowed after many replays but difficult decision nonetheless.
On the other hand no 2min against Sweden until the 69th min in a game of that intensity really?
So again I feel for the swedes on this one because it may leaves a bitter taste in the mouth , France were robbed in 2007 in this very arena against Germany in a much more obvious way. A game of fine margins and luck sometimes.

This is blatant corruption on the highest level, and we should have seen it coming. For almost 20 years now the IHF and EHF has made it their mission to carry the French team to championship contention. Not reviewing this with VAR is the biggest middle finger they have given to international handball since Qatar 2015, and it's freaking sad to watch.
The referee, Gjorgji Nachevski, was accused of match-fixing as late as last year. He is also connected to criminal organizations and known match-fixers. His father, Dragan Nachevski, who worked at the EHF referee commission was fired a year ago due to meeting a Chinese businessman to discuss match-fixing. Rule 15.1 : "During the execution, except in the case of the goalkeeper throw, *the thrower must have one part of a foot in constant contact with the floor until the ball is released. The other foot may be lifted and put down repeatedly* "
Firstable, Prandi is keeping his right foot on the floor until he realease the ball, so, sorry dear swedish fans, but the goal is actually valid.
Secondly, Prandi did not take a step, he's just smart enough to begin on his 2 feet, even after the referees whistle. Using his left foot is just the choice of his support foot, that's not a step. It would be a step if he choose his left foot as support to begin and if he switch on the right. But he was on his 2 feet, with the liberty to choose his support foot. Here again, that's not a fault, it is valid.

@peavy11 agreed, except the goal is a good regular goal, as explained by neutral professional experienced refs. the rule is different to what you claim.
for me the problem doesn not lie with the goal, but with the distance of the throw in the situation right before leading up to the goal.
as for the rest, completely agree.

Refs are humans... For that reason there has to be a standard and make sure to use what's at disposal especially during ctitical moments. There's as much reasons to trust human awareness as distrusting it. Human error is so common we should be better at assisting for that by now and not let anything but the players constantly decide the game. At the same time Sweden should've done a better job recovering from it and saved the feelings on the issue for after the game as there was still a game to play... But lost all momentum and spirit in overtime.

There are a good 5 steps after the Swede's dribble. So he walked well (The maximum number of steps is 3 between each dribble).
As for the two feet, he has both feet touching the ground at the same time so he is free to choose his supporting foot while he is already leaning and therefore inevitably the left foot will rise but the right is on the ground.. It's as if he had waited for the referees' signal already leaning at 45° with both feet touching the ground in fact, so it's valid.
