- An interview with Preston Roberts, one of the co-stars of the History Channel's Mountain Men. As an avid builder and jack-of-all survival trades, he lives a more natural lifestyle based on primitive skills using modern techniques and tools. This interview focuses on Preston's long relationship with and passion of natural material based construction.
Preston was my mentor over my survival project of building a Wickiup, a native american shelter. His guidance has completely reshaped my structure for the better. Furthermore, his insights, both in life and on survival skills, have reshaped the way I think about the world and taught me to "live more deliberately."

RIP Preston. I loved seeing you by Eustace's side, the two of you seemed like the best of friends. You seemed like a very wise, peaceful soul and I sincerely pass on my condolences to both your family and your friends.
To me, Preston was the real star of the show. This was a good man, and I'm sure he's still living off the land; in heaven. Preston, you are missed.

I was very sad when he passed. He was one of my favorites on Mountain Men. I recently watched a new episode where Eustace stop by his grave to talk with him. It was endearing. I enjoy when the show has his sons on.

RIP Preston Roberts! I was in shock when I discovered you had passed away! Moreover I felt a huge sorrow for Eustace for losing his best bud and business partner. I never knew Preston had a wife and children until reading more and watching several interviews with Preston. Turtle Island won't be the same without you!! I cant begin to comprehend the loss Eustace is feeling with your passing. May God bless the whole Turtle Island family.
Preston lived his life without tearing up the planet. He brought a lot of joy to others, through the way he lived, I wish I could say the same for me. Hope you find your reward.

I really enjoyed Preston and Eustus on the show working together. I also love that lifestyle, that was the way we were raised as a family
on a big farm, preserving the vegetables and meat to last through winter. My granny made all of our quilts etc. It was a wonderful life to live like that as a child.

Preston was an honorable man. So well loved on the show. Also a very patient man. Eustus and Preston were a team. Like Batman and Robin. Eustus NEEDS a sidekick to help with the saw mill. But also someone to take over when he injures himself! Will there be a new sidekick?

I am from Iran, way distant from the place Preston lived, but I really loved his calm and patient and helpful personality. unfortunately, just I was fascinated by his personality and wanted to figure out his biography, I noticed that we have missed him for ever. I wish they did a tribute show for Preston. There was barely any showing about his passing. Don't get me wrong I respect the family so perhaps that is why they didn't show a lot of the funeral. Also their is a saying I will tell you how he lived not how he died. Wish I could have lived like that when raising my 3 daughters. Maybe then I would not have lost one to drugs and nearly loss a second one. Which Thank God, got her life back and is doing great.
