As a former security guard for a concert venue, you're not there to enjoy the concert. You're there to ensure clients are safe. Keep in mind that fans will do stupid stuff for clout and it only takes a second of a security guard being distracted for a fan to jump on stage
I think they are worried that once you start interacting with the fans, your put in a different role. You went from being a neutral party to being to the one side who’s enjoying the show and they may miss something or even be bribed to letting someone onto the stage for a favor. They probably were just concerned that for a fan to Use their phone and upload videos of him at a show of Taylor’s, that the fans or other people in the crowd could ask for more. Not trying to rain on anyone’s parade, I’m a ts fan too. But how many of y’all seen Taken? The beginning with the fans rushing the backstage scene? If Liam’s character was caught up in fans recording him and making sure he gets recorded and uploaded even while working, he could potentially inadvertely miss something or worse be harmed hisself. Even heard of biker gangs working security for certain performers. While I acknowledge that they could have been a fan of said artist, they knew the capabilities of awestruck fans and the amount of sheer craziness they are putting themselves on the line for working security for the performer not to get hurt. We also must think back to all the artists and performers who were killed by obsessed fans and think what could have prevented the action from happening in the first place. Guy seems like a cool guy, a huge fan. But that job is one where they likely don’t take kindly to interactions with fans. That’s the performers job, they just keep them safe and keep an undistracted view of the crowd. Again; not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings. Just what I’m guessing happened

He absolutely shouldnt be hired back, or hired by any other security company. You're not there to have fun, you're there to do a job. And thinking about yourself, in a job where you're meant to be protecting the primary, is crazy. Hopefully he'll be blacklisted. Its actually insane that a "huge fan" was even hired and got that close to her. Taylor swift needs to fire whoever is in charge of her security. Thats way too close for comfort
Technically the company is right. Its not a matter of where he was looking but WHAT he was doing which is clearly AGAINST company rules. They pay him to keep watch and never let his guard down. I work for Disney and they too are strict on that when it comes to celebs and characters. We are allowed to take photos with celebs only if THEY suggest it or ask for it. (Rare but it happens) But while youre on the clock its a big No No. The security couldve just screenshoted himself on whatever video that was posted online with him after work. He went viral to begin with 🤷
Unpopular opinion: Its not just between the guard and the company. The company also has a reputation to uphold if they want more contracts with big name artists. 1) It's against the rules to interact with fans like that AND he only took the job cause he's a fan of Taylor. The company had every right to fire the guard. It was probably part of his employment contract to not interact with fans. Asking fans to take a photo is interacting with them. 2) On the other hand, he never turned around, or caused any problems. Yes there are other jobs, but he did break a major rule and it went viral. 🤷♀️ His face is in the photo. So chances are, other security companies are getting this information and know his face now. Probably wouldn't hire him, he broke a major rule of his employment contract. Let one break this rule, more will follow. Let one rule slide, more rules would be pushed. He clearly only took the job to get into the concert free. Plus, he's obviously very distracted, he wouldn't have noticed or seen if anything did start to happen in the crowd. That could've been a safety issue for everyone. But the name of the video is incorrect, Taylor didn't fire him. She has nothing to do with this. The company fired him and they had every reason to fire him. He didn't get his phone out, but he interacted with fans. Again, part of the contract that is a big no. But there are other lines of work in the job. He could probably get hired back or get another job, but won't get a position that close to the performer again. I side with the company. But sure, hire him back, just don't give him a position that's in view of the performer again. He can guard an entry way or a door. Also, the company has a name to uphold. They probably got paid good money to enter a contract to provide security for Taylor. She's too big of a client to "just let it go". It could very easily BE one of her rules. They HAVE to enforce the rules so the company can enter more contracts with big names. The company has a reputation to uphold if they want to enter into contracts with big names again.
I agree with you. I work as a Gen Tech and we build and disassemble concert stages. I’ve seen famous artists and it is against company policy to take a picture/s with them.
@@zheynet5352 I bet for good reason too. Rules have to apply to all employees. Too many doing the set up would be too interested in trying to get one on time with big names. It would be impossible for shows to happen.

As an armed security gaurd that protects high end venues and works with/as bands private details from time to time, this is unacceptable behavior. He should have been fired. A few months ago me and my partner for the day were tasked with protecting Sheryl Crow at North Carolina venue. We were told from the start her and the crowds safety is far more important then our enjoyment. We are there for a reason, and if something were to happen you can't be distracted. It's also very unprofessional, no matter how big a fan you are, you're doing your job and your job is one of the most important ones there, distractions and interactions that take attention away from keeping people safe are unacceptable. Use their phone and upload videos of him at a show of Taylor’s, that the fans or other people in the crowd could ask for more.

(Rare but it happens)
But while youre on the clock its a big No No.
The security couldve just screenshoted himself on whatever video that was posted online with him after work. He went viral to begin with 🤷
Unpopular opinion:
Its not just between the guard and the company.

Surely even if he's highly focused someone can still do something like pulling out a weapon near him etc. BUT the difference in that happening while he's having his photo taken by fans "at his request" while singing along or dancing vs while he's doing his job seriously (or at least pretended to) is a MASSIVE LAWSUIT not to Mention the damage to reputation which is probably the most important thing to a security company.
Imagine someone actually took out a knife near him and when they reviewed the fan's recording you saw him dancing and singing along while having photos taken at his request.
Any LAWYER will eat the company alive.
"They told me not to do something and then I did it and they fired me."
Would be the case if he did it. But he didn’t

Taylor did not fire him. The company did. Don't lie
why are ppl so mad💀 securities are supposed to make sure the celebrity is safe from crazy fans. Who knows, maybe someone could attack taylor while he wasnt watching
That's what rules are for. When you're working, you're there to do a job.
Yep!! But kids these days think that if they “think a rule is stupid”, it shouldn’t apply to them
He did follow the rules, he was looking at the crowd & didn't touch anyone. He was just standing there.
@@lagopusvulpuz1571 that’s not all he did. Have you been paying attention?
Right? Save that BS for security at the Jason Aldean concert!
@@lagopusvulpuz1571but he wasn’t paying attention. He was lip singing and dancing and asking customers to send him the videos/photos and giving them his number. Ergo he was fired before he could become even more of a liability.
As someone who works in the security industry, he was justly fired.

Bet she’d hire him back. He’s too cute.
He's a crowd controller and he successfully controlled the crowd, he did it with smiles and conversation rather than with threats and fists. Good job.
I agree, how dare people do their job being nice…,,I’ll take nice over Hatefull any day,I don’t need a BRUTE WHO HAS NO CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
He’s not supposed to talk or have a good time. He’s supposed to stare at the crowd attentively (dancing and lip singing are not attentive actions) and make sure no idiot gets out of line. His actions were like being a distracted driver. Sure 99% of the time you’re fine but all it takes is that 1% and you and others are f-cked.
Not to mention he agreed to the terms of employment prior to taking the job. You can’t agree to terms and then are shocked when you’re let go for not following them.

My man joined the security team just to visit Taylor Swift concert amazing 😂
I work for a security company and I only apply for concerts if it’s the idol I enjoy listening too.
IMO there's nothing wrong with that as long as you adhere to what the company's rules/policies.
The security companies reputation in the entertainment business would be tarnished if videos of him circulated slacking off. Taking a picture diverts his focus of threats. The company fired him to protect themselves.
Let's be clear though he din't take the thing..
