🥒 ABOUT BEFRS:
Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Cannot wait to visit Uzbekistan, it's been on my wishlist since 1999 🇺🇿
Sonny!! Can you make a series on Kurdistan?
Sunny, ur face looks penis red!!
I am just talking mess hoping you will read this next time you read comments on one of your videos. My wife and I love your work. Every night when we are laying together we check both of your channels to see if there is a new video. Thank you so much for everything you do. Please come to Ishikawa, Japan! Peace!
This is not a food review channel. This is a cultural documentary that makes me appreciate our planet and I will support this channel till I'm an old woman. 🥰🥰🥰
Right
Well said
Well this is the full documentary version of footage sonny intentionally chunked off into shorter review videos. Both are awesome. The shorter ones sometimes go into more specific detail but its always super useful and comes with addresses in case you want to go there yourself.
Thank you!
Well said. Have you went dip netting yet fellow Alaskan?
Behruz is such a perfect pair to Sonny. Their chemistry as hosts brings the show to a whole new level. i hope to watch him again sometime in the future.
agreeee. they really connect. and it is amazing to watch them
I know!!! Best pair ever! They're both warm, human ans have the 'it' factor.
100% agree!
i agree wholeheartedly. their chemistry made the viewing experience not just informative/enlightening, but entertaining as well.
Agree the dude gets American culture too, so he gets Sunny's puns and jokes.
He's def my favorite foreign food reviewer. He's really aware of his opinions and he isnt a picky eater. He enjoys it like a hobby more than a job. Great video!
I'm from Colombia and currently I am living in Turkey, I had the chance to try a lot of central asian food and specifically Uzbek food which i find amazing, Uzbek plov is one of the most amazing dishes I've ever tried in my life.
Behruz has by far been my favourite co-host of yours - a genuinely knowledgable, respectful, and charming man with a great sense of humour and love for his country. Hope to see him in your videos again soon!
Yes!
I was about to comment the same.
Right on! Great chemistry.
@@bonfire3283 Yeah that is so true, really enjoyed the duo!

I jus said to myself, "I already seen...OHH!" Lmao, didn't pay attention that is da WHOLE Uzbekistan Doc! Shout out to Sonny!

Over and over again like that song Nelly did what that guy
I sure do
When he said "Uzbakistan the land of thick eyebrows." 😂
I love this man and his food documentaries and Uzbek food looks fire af!
That was hilarious land of thick eyebrows funny is it gets
Yes 😅
This is my favorite episode so far. Behruz is also the best food guide/co-host there's ever been! More power to Sonny!
This Uzbek series is one of the favourites for me. Not just because of amezing food but the subtle comic sense between the hosts. Very well done series, thanks.
Dude all the meat in so many enticing forms ❤️
I intend to move there for three months to learn the language. What videos like these have taught me is to bring at least a big bottle of digestive enzymes. Uzbekistan has heavy rich yummy food.
@@alanguages Uzbekistan is a dictature

thanks from Uzbekistan, dude
The guide is such a humble and authentic dude.
He gives this "let's have a beer and tell me your life story" vibe.
These videos do more for a country that the entire government and international propaganda office together.
I agree... I have added so many new places to my bucket list because of Sonny and his crew...
no he´s not, he´s a Secret Service stooge!
"International propaganda office"
What drugs are you currently taking?
@@robertpaulson8790 I've been there, I know. Besides, the guy is in EVERY video from Uzbekistan, and he behaves like a fed. I bet a front tooth he is a govt stooge
@Paolo Rossi If you youtube search Uzbekistan you'll find that the top video with 10m views is a guy checking out the local street food. Behruz Hamzaev is wearing a suit in that video. That's not to say he's a secret service stooge but he is definitely (and it says so in this video) an agent of the government. His job is as a strategy adviser to the country's tourism chairman. He apparently has organized about 50 different influencers' visits to Uzbek. I also don't see any reason to disparage him for doing his job though by calling him a stooge.
Sonny, I applaud your open mindedness and the respect you show your hosts and their traditions. Behruz is by far the best guide you’ve had on your show, bar none. He’s knowledgeable yet humble and articulate, the chemistry between you two was comedic and highly informative at the same time. Consider keeping him as a regular on your channel. Wonderful work, thank you.
Everytime i watch sonny's vlog it feels like traveling to another country too. Knowing their culture and cuisine amazed me... 🥰🥰 i just love this show. 🤩🤩🤩❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love Behruz, dudes an awesome co-host and embodies the hospitality and fun of the Uzbek people.
Love seeing him and his own naïve and child-like approach to some the more bizarre foods in his culture, really pairs well with Sonny's brave and adventurous attitude towards the same dishes.
You are sooo fake! The Behtuz dude is a Secret Service agent making sure they don´t shoot anything of the country´s life and don´t interact with the common people!
@@genekalutsky8813 You might wanna add a few layers to your tin foil hat bud. Also, they are interacting with common people throughout this entire documentary, are you dense?
I love this show.. Sonny just has the best attitude, and manages to be funny but always respectful.. I think showing people different cultures and making it more approachable and showing that people are basically the same everywhere you go.
I love Uzbeks, they are very hardworking and modest people with good sense of humor and self-irony. Love their attitude and their food.
I loved watching his face on the milk lungs. He was so convinced he wouldn’t like it.
Putting in my vote for Behruz as co-host of the year in the Besty Awards.
Just love this guy. Funny, smart, his joy in Uzbek life and culture makes everything shine. Behruz, 🤜🤛looking forward to more.
and he's humble. doesn't try too hard.
hes unconfident though, he keeps saying "in a good way though bro" even tho sonny only meant his comments in a good way
I so enjoyed this video. The food the preparation the humor the comradary.. the tradition, beautiful culture I'm a new subscriber. This is the best culinary travel blog I'm sure. Much 💞 from Texas

Uzbekistan's been my top 3 list of countries i would visit. The foods looks amazing i could eat all of them haha. Not only that but the people looks super friendly and humble. Great work Sonny and team 👍👍

I went there with my family and it was one of my favorite destination, highly recommend!
This guy has shown all four or five major food and travel influencers around Uzbekistan
He is freaking awesome
His Uzbekistani personality comes out sometimes, but he also gladly knows how to be funny to Americans and Canadians
He's always funny and on point with his humor
Behruz is a great co-host, funny and super sympathetic

it’s so pleasant to read ur comments bout our Uzbekistan 🇺🇿❤
“like hard core M&Ms”. 😂This documentary is very entertaining and interesting. ❤
Behruz is the real MVP of this series 🔥💯
"This meat was not sanctioned"
Nooooo 😂 You always pick the best co-hosts Sonny hahahaha
18j7 u
I laughed so hard of that “dark joke” that I woke my kids and wife up at midnight…. Yes, midnight, my free time to watch Sony’s channel 🤣
what does that mean?
@@muhammadainurrofiq3546 the meat is smaller because its from a country that is sanctioned. From my understanding, when you get sanctioned by one of the largest trade nations in the world (US), a lot of goods and economy get restricted in your country. Is it a relatively dark joke? Absolutely, but it's not offensive or mean. I thought it was pretty clever 😂
@@muhammadainurrofiq3546 and of course, it doesnt not mean that the meat is ACTUALLY smaller because its from a country with sanctions. Just a tongue in cheek joke.
That lung milk looks absolutely revolting on the front end, but I'm sure I would eat a LOT of it. But that sausage looks absolutely divine: a perfect blend of meat, fat, and seasoning. I love how they render an entire sheep into a pile of sausage. They don't worry about cuts of meat; they're just "nope, its all going in." Freaking amazing.
I love how humble Behruz is, this is one amazing show! Y'all need a mainstream TV show!
❤❤❤
The guide is a cool dude and very real.
I think he’s the funniest guide out of all the places!!!
I’ve been to Uzbekistan and the people are incredibly warm, generous and kind I recommend anyone to go for a visit just don’t get involved in politics but that’s the same everywhere ❤
We have tandır in Turkey too(Not with lamb sausage but just meat). It is difficult to make, takes way too long(Sometimes they cook it overnight) but amazingly tender and juicy as well as expensive. We also have pastırma it is liked a lot in Turkey but damn expensive. Those hairy things called pişmaniye in Turkish,it is a common sweet too. It came from Persia as "Peşmek" which derived from "peşmin" which means "wool".
I've got to say that this is now my favorite series of yours, Sonny (and those are big words since I'm mexican and I was so happy when you came to my country and so proud that you showed the authenticity of my culture). Yet, it warmth my heart so much seeing entire communities gathering around something so precious as food.
Uzbek people seem so joyful and proud of their traditions, I don't know if they realize how clever are all their ways of preparing and preserving food, I mean, not a single part of the animals they slaughter is wasted.
Love the amazing work, it's seriously my favorite YT content
The quality of food in Central Asia is so much higher than North America aswell, my cousin made milk lungs before, it's actually good
I was working in Uzbekistan way back 2013~17 for a power plant project. The culture & people are amazing especially the food are fantastic…. Missing those days…..

Lets get Behruz on the show full time
This is maybe my favorite full episode… the food is so interesting and Behruz? (hope I got his name right) is funny and I love their chemistry. Really great stuff 👏
Your culinary friend in these last few episodes has been a fantastic guide through Uzbekistan. What a beautiful and interesting country and as a big ole carnivore the food looks delicious.
And some times not.

Most definitely definitely beautiful. I love the way people come together to create dishes with love.
I’ve watched a good number of Sonny’s videos now. What is striking me more and more is that “poor food” or food of necessity really doesn’t change across the world. I’m from Scotland and our Haggis is obviously a well known offal dish that freaks people out! But what isn’t so well known is that mutton and particularly mutton neck is a long standing tradition. We are about as far removed from Uzbekistan as you can get but I still recognise some similarities!
_very interesting._
Вам нужно приехать к нам в Узбекистан и попробовать тандыр мясо. Это вообще космос. Такого нигде не пробовали
Coincidentally, Scotland and Uzbekistan are on my bucket list. Also, Sardinia.
I loved this episode so much. Your team is amazing for pulling this together, and Becruz is such a wonderful cultural ambassador
❤❤
A 1 hour 23 minutes video, yet every minute is worth it, absolutely high-quality content, preparation and production. Well done and thanks
OMG orange lemons do exist somewhere else. The previous owner of my property managed to make something similar too. they graphed lemon branches to an orange tree, and produced what looked like small oranges, but when I tried them it was really bitter like lemon.
that's an epic episode I haven't seen it before even on Netflix, the title of the channel tells itself, Sonny you are the man, Behruz was a great co-host
I am really happy to see this video as being Uzbek
Thank you very much guys for making Uzbek culture accessible to the world
I myself haven't tasted most of these delicious foods yet but after this I really want to taste them
Great & adventerous video. All the best for you guys. Thanks!
❤❤❤
It feels like the foods are designed to give you energy and keep you warm during the cold Uzbek weather.
@@musti12312 pretty sure most food tries to give you energy.
@@Khunark yeah but some foods are better at it than others, such as being better suited for building up things like fat stores for later as opposed to meeting more immediate energy demands
I LOVED every moment of this show. The host is so much fun to follow and reveals that every man shares a slightly outrageous sense of humor. A great lesson to learn.
I really enjoy the local people that you find as guides. You always find the people with such fantastic personalities, and wonderful sense of humor.
Washing the dough out like that, just separates the Gluten strands and the Starch. The starch washes into the milk, thus thickening it. You can buy it in a box…a thickening agent, commonly referred to as “Wheaten Cornflour”.
So much easy to completely skip the dough…just thicken with the starch? If you picked that stuff left in the bowl, it’d be stringy, rubbery, and smell like protein (which in fact, is what gluten is).
And yes, I know what I’m talking about. Artisan Baker for 30+ years.
In saying this, I love this bloody channel! Sonny, you’re a legend, mate.
Come to Tassie, I’ll cook something weird for you. Maybe even a very rare “Tasmanian Dropbear Pie”.

What an ambassador for his country. Totally brilliant co-host. Right up there with the best from Cuba and Vietnam👏👏🙏 sausages, lamb, lamb neck...all looked brilliant. Rice and meat wonderful. If I have a enough money to visit this country, man I am going to try all the food you ate here. Their culture seems wonderful and their cuisine is mouth watery.
I've left comments out the frame LoL 😂but I just love their episodes together... 😂 I can't tell you how many times I've seen this episode ❤❤
Absolutely likeable guy. Great ambassador for Uzbekistan, if the goal is to create interest in the country/region for those of us from the United States.
I specifically loved that he admitted he had not tried the milk lung. He kept it genuine. One might look down on that, if he is supposed to be an ambassador for his country and culture, but that is like expecting someone from the United States to have tried every single food here. It would take the better part of a lifetime to just get through the main regional flavors and dishes. It made him feel real and not like some "paid actor" who just speaks praise because they want tourism dollars.
I love the guide in this one. He is super charismatic, with a great sense of humour & his English is fantastic. This episode was a lot of fun.
Sonny is just an exceptional guy , everything here is just phenomenal, the food preparation process is just so good .
I have been watching tons of your videos in the past days. Loved every single one of them especially this one and the Sri Lanka video keep the good work up :) greetings

So glad I found this channel. Just like it says on the tin.....Best Ever Food Review Show. Behruz is fantastic as a host. He could make a bundle of money starting a business that takes tourists around the different cultural areas to sample it's food.
I will never understand how this show isn't on a TV station. I can imagine he reaches more people on CZcams but I could also see this show being extremely popular on TV as a once a month special.
Maximum revenue and control if you produce it yourself. He has his own production company.
@@nicoyouknoww yeah and I get that and that he probably reaches his target audience easier on CZcams along with new viewers but I can help but think all the older folks who'd love his content that can't see it if they aren't technically inclined
I think a long time ago it was gonna be a TV thing with an offer, but it didn't go well cuz the execs or something tried to control what he could or couldn't say, what he could or couldn't eat, and what he could call tasty or not.
@@carlosx8603 it's a shame someone doesn't give him the creative freedom to do his show how he wants while also putting it on TV

"Dude don't ask. Sometimes i don't even know what's going on. But at the end of the day, I know its freaking delicious" - best guide 🤣
This channel makes me want to eat food that would normally make my brain nope out! He makes everything look so delicious!
Sonny, you have a way with people and you have a way with your words.I never get bored with your show.
They made gluten with the milk lung recipe. When you wash wheat dough, it separates into wheat starch and gluten. The gluten is in leftover dough and wheat starch is dissolved in the milk.
I'm obsessed with your shows specifically because I don't think I could be brave enough to try many of these dishes but I'm glad you do so I can find out what they're like. In other words, I like to live vicariously through you.. so thanks man! 😋🥘❤
Would love to visit Uzbekistan.. and enjoy some of their culture and food! Maybe one day❤
Both the wife and I love this channel, keep up the good work.
I was born in Uzbekistan and moved to western Europe 30 years ago as a kid with my parents. I see so many new variations of samsa now, also fish was not as popular there back in times. So much new dishes seems to be available there these days. Great video.
