  • Behemoth is the Bolliger & Mabillard hyper coaster at Canada's Wonderland. This was part of a trio of hyper coasters Cedar Fair added to recently purchased Paramount parks along with Intimidator at Carowinds and Diamondback at Kings Island. This coaster features a sea of camelbacks as it runs along the park's perimeter. Find out how it compares to other B&M hypers in this review!

    I first rode Behemoth in 2009 and I was in love and it was the coaster that got me into roller coasters and theme parks. I still love this roller coaster and it still gives great airtime. Now it does have a prominent rattle but I don’t mind it. This ride has excellent capacity and the line does move quickly and you don’t stay in the same spot for long. I love these trains since the back let’s you get yeeted over each drop. After 14 years I still love this ride over Leviathan. If you come back when it is a hot day and little wind, trust me this ride will fly.

    I like that they did 2 of the 3 biblical feature names in Leviathan and Behemoth, but they haven’t used Ziz, the third name yet. Maybe the name is just too stupid. It would be a great returns for Flight Deck with new trains though.

      Ziz is not biblical as it is found nowhere in the Jewish Torah or Old Testament scriptures. It's a Jewish mythological creature, createdmany centuries after the Jewish Talmud. Behemoth? Nope. Leviathan is in the Greek Septuagint New Testament book of Revelation of John and is just a descriptor of Satan.

    I love the entry & sign marque! I studied art/graphic design & worked in AstroWorlds sign shop + another shop before moving to food service. i did it because a fellow ACE member was a waiter & traveled the globe riding roller coasters. I've gotten my fair share of rides during the week taking random short vacations. Canada's Wonderland is truly a favorite of mine. Cedar put a lot of love in that park.

      It's amazing that this is the most visited seasonal Cedar Fair park, and it's not even the flagship park, Cedar Point. Canada's Wonderland did 3.96 million visitors in 2019, which is nuts. Now Cedar Point's attendance for 2019 isn't known, but I'm sure Canada's Wonderland would still beat Cedar Point's attendance regardless. Cedar Fair just invests well into this park, and can't wait what they do in the future.

I haven't been there myself since I was a teenager when Top Gun was the most-hyped coaster (Vortex was wayyyy better, and Wild Beast was fun because there was like no wait time -- nobody wanted to go on the old wooden coasters). An absolute airtime king. More so than any other B&M Hyper, this has not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 behemoth sidecamelbacks. That is absolute crazy. A normal B&M Hyper has 2 and maybe 3 but this throws in a 4th which is why it easily looks like the best B&M Hyper. It's kinda a shame that literally 3 of the 4 have trims but who cares cause Diamondbacks trims never hit and these extended train hypers have MUCH much stronger airtime. Also a great second half with a helix and yet again, nore airtime hills. This looks like it tops Leviathan if you want airtime but ylif you want speed and a good drop then maybe Leviathan but even th is drop was great. I didn't find Orions drop that much better than Diamondbacks cause it was already really good. Last thing is I find it kinda onward that Behemoth is themed to a land monster and is over water while Leviathan is themed to a sea monster and is over land.

  • @Paolo8772
    @Paolo8772 Před 2 lety +1

    I think you meant to say Leviathan @ 2:06 rather than Yukon Striker.
    Intimidator doesn't have a camelback directly after its drop, then when it does it has a trim break on it, followed by another turnaround, followed by a hill with a trim on it before a hill without a trim on it. Now that doesn't mean that those early trim breaks will necessarily trim the speed of the trains, but there must be something to be said for coasters that don't even have trims until later in the ride (like Diamondback) rather than having (and often using) them right away (like Intimidator).
    Behemoth is in between but at least it has an untrimmed camelback directly after the 1st drop and just looks like it has a better layout than Intimidator. I guess it depends on which trims where hitting when you rode it. When I rode it the trims only hit on the 1st camelback after the turnaround then not again until it lightly tapped the train on the MCBR. This is why my bucketlist B&M hyper after Fury 325 is Diamondback, even it has a rattle due to unstable ground.
    I prefer Behemoth in any seat in the back car over any seat on Leviathan but every seat on Leviathan is excellent since the trains are shorter and the drop and elements are better in every car rather than the very front or very back like Behemoth. The front of Leviathan is almost as good as the back of Behemoth IMO because of how it feels to sit there for the speed hill with laterals that precedes the 1st camelback. Thanks for posting this great review!

I do like Diamondback a little more, and after my great Intimidator rides last year, I may even slightly prefer it, but they're all very close. I found it quite strange that Behemoth put its helix right after the mid-course. If the mid-course didn't hit, that helix would pull some great force.

    Many who went to ride all B&M hyper coasters (excluding gigas) in the world, found one to be easily the best and an exceptional airtime machine, what do you think about the exceptional B&M hyper coaster, compared to Behemoth?
    A) Better airtime, better views, and equally as smooth

    C) Similar airtime, but with a better layout

      That B&M train style looks weird but still rides great. It offers a loophole where you can sit in the second row with no additional first-row wait, but still get a ride experience in the second row that's almost identical to the first row, i.e. you can see the track in front of you just like you can in the front row.
