IF I had the abilty to get a 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT or variation of said car, I would contact you. Man you have really kept a rare tradition alive .. I bet you dont get messed with AT ALL on the road in the Last of the V8s, Best regards - DV
Actually for a while I wanted to do something similar to that or at least do a ride along in a real functional supercharged Interceptor. I have one myself but is still under construction plus there are very few of them in the country. The one you see in the video is going through another motor build which held me up from doing actually what you wanted.
My favorite car of all time was the delorean. But now this is clearly the interceptor. I still love the delorean, but man the black on black is so sexy, mysterious and appealing 😍😍😍
Does the owner do car shows? I'm assuming the car is in the States. Would really cool to see in person. I know most replica MM cars don't have an actual functional Supercharger.
@@croccustom I know the cars. I'm 2nd gen Ford/UAW. The base engines were 4BBL 302's. We built the engines in Cleveland. Put 351C heads on a 302 to make a" boneyard boss".
The airbags lift the front suspension up high enough to go over the bump but admittingly you have to have enough time to lift it before you approach the bump. But if you don't anticipate it you will loose the spoiler . Thats why you see a lot of guys building the Mad Max 2 car which didn't have the lower spoiler.
I figured as much. I bought a 1:18 scale version of the car, and the front barely clears my quarter-inch carpet. Then again, from a few shots I've seen the original car doesn't lean forward as much as a lot of replicas do because the front tires aren't as small. Looks cool regardless!
YOU BUILT IT WRONG! You didn’t put the electric clutch on the super charger! Everyone who is a true mad max fan knows that the electric clutch that is usually used on your air conditioner is also used on the supercharger during the Mad Max filming. Any true mad max fan knows this!
Oh yes you are so right. But you have a choice......a real functional blower or a fake movie prop one. It would be a hell of an achievement to have both. Not to say it can't be done. But you will find that most people went for the clutch driven blower because it was a cheaper way to go. Sure on the movie it was a functional clutch drive blower but the actually movie prop never had a real functional blower. Actually there isn't a single movie replica around that is correct. They all have an inconsistency some where. Even the real movie interceptor today is made up from Mad Max 1 and 2 and half of those original props are gone today.
“ a piece from here, a piece from there”. “Kick it in the guts Barry!” A classic.
Yes I did kick it in the guts a few times. But recently that engine is getting a rebuild.
Lol they also claimed it was "twin overhead cam" which it certainly is NOT dual overhead cam lol
A functional supercharger !
😜👍

Thanks mate. Fun car to have. Built my first one over 35 years ago. Jeff’s car is more movie correct than my second build.
Man that's spectacular that you retained the injection hat
Damn. Just found this. Beautiful recreation.
That is my childhood ...Awsome!
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.
Also working on my own personal Interceptor which also has a functional supercharger.
Someone needs to film a 0-100 test with the real blower lol the sound would be amazing!

I love the whine of a blower👍😊
The noisier the better....lol
beauty.
Nice 👍

Hopefully I can get to get my own Interceptor in the guts soon.

It sure is. It has been my weakness for many years . Hopefully I can make some more progress on mine.
@@croccustomyour car is still already awesome 🙏🏻😍
Love your video ❤
HOW THE F##K?!..Beautiful!😍

Yes he did. But recently it has been pulled off the road awaiting an engine upgrade.
She’s the ducks guts
is this a real interceptor body ?
A replica but with a functional supercharger
Looks like a Ford 351!?
Yes it is. The good old Ford Falcon XB coupe.

As cool as the car is, it must be extremely nerve-wracking to drive it anywhere, cause one tiny speed bump is gonna rip the bumper to pieces...
Actually the car has adjustable airbags in the front for that particular reason.
so instead of shattering if it hits something, the bumper bends and flexes back into place, I presume. That's really clever!

The car was at San diego comic con one year. At present it does not do shows due to the car needing some upgrades.
