    Still the BEST video I've seen on the disassembly and reassembly and the narration for the procedure. Downright professional it is....and we don't have to listen to some crappy music to hear you do it !! THANK YOU SIR 111

    Thanks for the super video. Thanks to you I managed to locate and fix the proximity sensor. Poco M3 is my favorite phone right now. Zero problem, very satisfied. Even the proximity sensor problem happens only after I replaced the broken screen, so I guess I made something wrong, but at the end I fixed it quickly. Thanks

    Hi, Could you confirm if an adhesive is used in the assembly regarding removing the back housing? Tks

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 2 lety

      Hi, there is a thin strip of adhesive around the camera lens cover, but the back housing is just clipped in, so you don't need to re apply any adhesive or there is no adhesive really holding it down aside from the clips.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 3 lety

      Make sure your back cover is properly seated in place and has not lifted up in any corners since the antenna contacts on the back housing need to touch the contacts on the main board. So if the back cover has separated or come loose, then they will not make a connection.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 3 lety

      Hi, not sure. It's not normal for the phone to not power on after a drained battery. I know back in the day with the iPhone 5C there was a similar issue sometimes with the phone not charging anymore if the battery was allowed to completely drain on some units, but sometimes that was a battery problem and required the battery to be replaced and sometimes it was a problem with the main board chip that handled the charging.

    • @PBKreviews

      Its a tough call, the M3 has a higher MP camera but I would feel the oneplus might be a better built phone. But the M3 is an easier phone for repairs also.

    Very good video. Is there anyone else with a POCO M3 phone that won't turn on nor charge? I tried the tricks with the volume and on/off buttons and I tried opening and disconnecting/reconnecting the battery, but it didn't work

    • @zitebeix1638
      @zitebeix1638 Před rokem

      I read somewhere that it's due to a problem with a micro-capacitor that won't discharge,
      the trick is to disconnect the battery (nape)
      and wait 48 hours, then reconnect the battery (nape)
      and finally your type c charger, and you're done!

    I think you made a mistake, the phone's midframe is most likely magnesium

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 3 lety

      I think its an aluminum alloy but I could be wrong.

    • @SianaGearz
      @SianaGearz Před 3 lety +1

      @@PBKreviews I too think it's a magnesium alloy.
      Obviously not pure magnesium because that's just insanely brittle and is a fire hazard. So it's commonly alloyed with several % aluminium.
      Pure aluminium is just insanely soft and easy to bend, and much easier to scratch. It wouldn't be all that much more useful than a plastic subframe if you could just permabend it with your fingers. Again due to this fact actually harder alloys with several % magnesium are very common, and more additives may be needed to make the material castable.
      I think magnesium alloys are preferred for phones because they cast thin long walls easier, and provide more rigidity to absorb deformation and prevent damage to the LCD panel and glass layers. There isn't much between alu and magnesium on cost, with magnesium being potentially cheaper to manufacture.
      More or less reliable ways to tell alu and magnesium apart is you can apply vinegar to the surface, nothing should happen on the aluminium, but some bubbling will occur on magnesium. Also if you scrape off some material into a powder and apply a flame to that powder, if it's high in magnesium, you should see white sparks and you might even make a self-sustaining fire, which if you do make a fire, resist the temptation to quell it with water, as that can just make it stronger, just let it burn out. Aluminium doesn't burn like that.
      I'm not a metallurgist or anyhow an expert in a related field so i'm mostly speaking out of my behind, it's not something to rely upon, it's just things i read or heard somewhere along the way.
